Non-Bowing Chinese Dissident Wins Nobel

From a probably annoyed Agence France-Presse:

Mr. Obama bows to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, November 23, 2009.

Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo wins Nobel Peace Prize

OSLO (AFP) – Jailed Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo won the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize Friday for his struggle for human rights, the Norwegian Nobel Committee said.

He was honoured "for his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China," Norwegian Nobel Committee president Thorbjoern Jagland said in his announcement.

"The Norwegian Nobel Committee has long believed that there is a close connection between human rights and peace," he added.

Liu, 54, is in prison for helping to organise and disseminate a document called Charter 08, which called for sweeping political reforms in China, including the freedom of assembly, freedom of expression, and freedom of religion.

What’s this? The Nobel committee gave their ‘peace prize’ to someone else besides Obama? And after all he has done?

If Mr. Obama earned a peace prize last year, when all he had done was talk – why wouldn’t he win it this year, when he has talked even more?

That the Nobel committee gave their ‘peace prize’ to some hooligan instead of Mr. Obama is a disgrace.

Mr.Obama bows to Chinese President Hu Jintao, April 12, 2010.

Mr. Liu Xiaobo doesn’t even seem to know how to bow to his Chinese masters.

I say we give Obama a chance to earn that Nobel… by tossing him into jail.

  2. Liberals Demise says:

Must be some kinda mistake giving it to someone who actually is deserving.
