Banned, I agree that having to depend on foreign entities to purchase our debt is NOT a good thing. In a perfect world, I prefer that our government abstain from deficit spending, just as I have to abide in my own daily life. But as you must already know, "wishing doesn't make it so".

So we are reluctantly left with the predicament (right now, between election seasons) of either:
1) Suddenly reversing decades of practice by eliminating deficit spending...
or
2) Allow foreign investors to purchase our mounting, suffocating debt, while hoping for some sanity to reach our halls of congress soon.

Since choice #1 is a laughable notion in this time of waxing socialism, I choose to face realities, and admit that we are, indeed, faced with the ugly reality of needing choice #2. Hence, my statement (whether reluctant or not), "we need them more than they need us."

And regarding your statement: "If China doesn’t buy our debt there is no way Obama will be able to continue to push his socialist agenda", I believe there is some clarification necessary. I apologize for not setting up my original statement a little better.
My point in saying that China is not in a position of disadvantage concerning the US was not meant in the context of <em>China enabling Obama to usher in socialism</em>.

Rather, it was meant as a statement regarding foreign policy, strictly. That is, we can expect China to play a slow, methodical game of chess, here, as North Korea makes its bellicose statements and strong threats against South Korea. They have issued a warning that for any S Korean to stop their vessels on the water for weapons inspections, that N Korea will, indeed, treat that as a provocation of war. China has little motivation to 'reign in' their rowdy child, N. Korea. As I said, China isn't the only player who now senses a weakened leader in the White House, eager to assert their own strength, while continuing the minor slashes at the USA, performing a "death by a thousand cuts", eventually, on my country.

That's what I meant.

IMO this is just brinkmanship politics from NK. Il came out with tough rhetoric after the election, no response from Obama. He then tested a short-range ICBM, no response from Obama. Now they have tested a nuke and short-range missiles, no response from Obama. In the communist world words have no meaning, only actions. Obama has no clue what he is doing and North Korea knows this. There is trouble brewing in the North concerning who will follow Kim Jong Il, and he wants more concessions from the west to help ease the transition to the new regime. He will keep ratcheting up the pressure until Obama caves and gives him more aid. It worked with Clinton, who was far better at international politics than Obama. Bush didn't do very well either, but I would say he was blind sided because from some stupid reason he expected the North to abide by the deals made during the Clinton administration.

"we need for China to buy our debt right now"

I disagree. If China doesn't buy our debt there is no way Obama will be able to continue to push his socialist agenda. He will either have to print so much money it becomes worthless, tax everybody into poverty, or cut all non-socialist programs (which still would not be enough because even the military is small change compared to how much SS and Medicare take up in the budget.) China not buying our debt is the best thing that can happen. It is probably the only thing that will stop this deficit spending, get the budget balanced, and return America to dependence on capitol gains instead of welfare and wealth distribution.

The armistice is off? Great! Let's march on Pyngpong or whatever the hell it is and convert them all to democracy...we'll be greeted as liberators, no doubt. Seriously, nothing will happen, especially as reunification is the last thing South Korea wants. Reunification with the East bankrupted West Germany and the RoKs learned the lesson.

Let's admit: we need for China to buy our debt right now. We need them more than they need us. The thought that Barry could bring pressure to bear on China ignores this fact.

International reaction to Barry has been superficially warm and cheerful, but he has yet to be greeted as a liberator by them (despite Hillary asking the Russians to push on her [reset] button). They certainly won't all scream "how high?" when he yells "jump". This is the time for our will to be tested. Our interests threatened. All to the mocking laughter from a world wishing for our fall from perch. Having this president is the best present our enemies could have received.

So begins our fall.

The Moron has somehow ticked the North Koreans off," Lil kim's big export used to be counterfeit US dollars, now with the omoron also printing dollars the NorKor fakes aren't worth as much, and this little tinpot dictator (Kim Il Jong I mean) is pissed that his investment in dies is going to waste.

North Korea never had any intention of abiding by the armistice anyway. They're still hellbent on conquest of the Korean peninsula. And the student youths of South Korea (Ungrateful brats!) want to know why we're still there and demand that we leave. Maybe we should. Then they can see how well unification feels with North Korean army boots on their necks.

Lil' Kim is nothing more than a teen age brat who suddenly found his pappy's gun and is waving it around to frighten the sheeple of our world. Congratulations Mr. Biden. You predicted that in six months there would be some form of a crisis to test the mettle of Obama as POTUS. Well it's less than six months and your hero ain't done squat to make these thugs cower.

Pro, I agree. Obombi wrote fightin words in his abomination why not have attacked N. Korea instead of Iraq. First thing Obama does is complain due to decrease of dollar we shouldn't owe China as much. China follow's up, with ships dispatched. Obama recent complaint of owing interest too, China blasts back. "Obombie doesn't want to pay back money, you slaved for." These two countries have their own news, following every word the global seeking King Obombie says. Including repeated headlines "Obamad cutting U.S. Defense" Their media probably prints every universal, global, comment portraying Obombie as Hitler, while U.S. media prints Obombie Wonderland words, refusing to print the word "socialist or communist" leaning.

N. Korea has gotten alot of oil and food in the past from America using these threats, but Obama is making it clear to the world that we are all in poverty, a tactic tricks he taught, in making countries become fearful beggars.

And N. Korea and China don't look to good in biblical prophecies and all the beast stuff, communism repressing. King Obombie leading the world.

I don't think China is using N. Korea to distract attention from itself. I think China uses N. Korea to tweak the US. China has no reason to distract attention from itself.

And I don't think Mini Mao is independent. He can't fart without permission from China. So I think the threat of N. Korea invading S. Korea should be measured in terms of what China wants. And I can't see why China would want to get something going militarilly in Korea when they are about to take over the world economically, as The Moron kills capitalism and uses Global Warning to drive us back into the stone age.

But the Chinese are pretty mysterious, and the Wee Hitler is definitely nutso, so I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Oh wait, the farm is about to be confiscated anyway.
