For all of the hype and hope of "better education for less money" - my tuition increased 65% from 1992-1995. Just another form of redistribution - and oddly enough the economic downturn was pretty much the same in the early 1990's in NY state. Solution: Gut college kids and increase welfare, handouts to "other citizens". Of course, the idea is that "just rich kids go to college and mommy and daddy pay for it - no biggie", unless you get a bogus freebie based on skin color. UNfortunatley I was raised to earn my way through college and pay my own way. The audacity of my parents... PS - Plattsburgh was also decimated in the military base closing scheme, ala Clinton's "ramp down" of our military.
