NYC Shootings Up Since ‘Occupy Wall Street’

From the New York Post:

Shootings way up in two weeks

October 23, 2011

Bullets are flying over Broadway — and everywhere else in the city.

The number of people shot surged 154 percent two weeks ago — to 56 from 22 over the same week last year — and spiked 28 percent in the last month.

Last week tallied another increase in victims — 22 people had been hit through Friday, including the three victims gunned down outside a Brooklyn school Friday.

Last year, only 17 shooting victims were logged for the entire week.

The recent gunplay has now pushed the number of shooting victims this year slightly above last year’s tragic tally — to 1,484 from 1,451 — through Oct. 16.

Four high-ranking cops point the finger at Occupy Wall Street protesters, saying their rallies pull special crime-fighting units away from the hot zones where they’re needed.

Since Occupy Wall Street took over Zuccotti Park on Sept. 17, the NYPD has relied heavily on its borough task forces, the department’s go-to teams for rowdy crowds.

But such protest duty takes the special units away from their regular jobs — patrolling public housing and problem spots and staking out nightclubs plagued by violence, supervisors said.

“Normally, the task force is used in high-crime neighborhoods where you have a lot of shootings and robberies,” said one source.

“They are always used when there are spikes in crime as a quick fix. But instead of being sent to Jamaica, Brownsville and the South Bronx, they are in Wall Street.”

Where is Joe ‘Bite Me’? Shouldn’t he be doing something about this?

Another NYPD boss is troubled by the resulting slowdown in stop-and-frisks.

A practice which with the OWS crowd want to do away with altogether.

When OWS marches, as many as 3,000 cops a day could be called on to keep the peace. That’s about 10 percent of the total force.

A clever criminal might time his next job accordingly.

“The city is going crazy with demonstrations and protests, and I’m lucky if I can get four cars out there,” said Deputy Inspector Ted Berntsen, commander of the 13th precinct in Chelsea.

As the NYPD deals with depleted ranks, fewer thugs are going to jail. The Organized Crime Control Bureau — an elite unit of hundreds of cops fighting drug dealers and gun runners — has seen arrests plummet 19 percent this year.

Of course this is a win-win for the Occupy Wall Street crowd. In fact, it is all part of the plan to bring down the system – man.

This is all about mobs; and when criminals sense that the reins of authority are going slack they know just how to whip up the deadly mob.

These are the tactics that Saul Alinsky, Cloward and Pivin, and the worldwide crypto-Marxists are counting on to bring America and the Western Tradition down.

Chaos is Obummer’s only hope for re-election. If he can convince enough stupid voters that only he has control over the mobs of the extreme left – and that greedy Republicans brought this all on – then he might be re-elected.

This tactic is as old as Athenian democracy and the Roman Republic. In both cases it brought on civil war and tyranny. Of course, the tyranny of Augustus Caesar was rather a benign tyranny, infinitely preferable to lawlessness.

Why do all of these ‘Occupy’ sites look like the final scene from the movie Woodstock?

Someone tell JOE BIDEN that DEMOCRATS cause increases in crime. Shootings are up 154% in just 2 weeks, which is impossible, since New York has some of the toughest gun laws in America. –and of course tough gun laws help to deter criminals who are known for following the rules. . .

But such protest duty takes the special units away from their regular jobs — patrolling public housing (democrat voters) and problem spots (that have mostly democrat voters) and staking out nightclubs plagued by violence, (which are filled with public housing democrat voters) supervisors said.

So really, democrat protesters are keeping democrat public union workers away from doing their job monitoring and arresting other democrat voters at public housing units and nightclubs? –Hmph, you would almost want to say that societal problems are due to democrats. . .

Heh, see, if those evil Republicans weren’t so insistent on protecting the slovenly rich, then people wouldn’t be getting shot in New York and 19 year olds wouldn’t be getting raped in Occupy Cleveland (while the Community Security force consults the General Council on whether reporting it to police will hurt the collective’s public image; ah, Statism) – dammit!
