NYT Questions Huma’s Work For Teneo (Clintons)

From the New York Times:

Questions on the Dual Role of a Clinton Aide Persist

By RAYMOND HERNANDEZ | August 18, 2013

WASHINGTON — When news surfaced in May that the State Department had approved an arrangement that allowed Huma Abedin, a top adviser to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, to take on work for private clients, officials at the department described it as nothing unusual.

But three months later, questions about the arrangement persist, and the department has declined to provide some basic information about Ms. Abedin’s situation and those of other State Department employees who may have been given similar status.

Ms. Abedin, 37, a confidante of Mrs. Clinton’s, was made a “special government employee” in June 2012. That allowed her to continue her employment at State but also work for Teneo, a consulting firm, founded in part by a former aide to President Bill Clinton, that has a number of corporate clients, including Coca-Cola.

As The Times reported last week, Teneo looms large in the Clinton Global Initiative Foundation. In fact, it seems to be their main money machine.

In addition, Ms. Abedin worked privately for the Clinton Foundation and for Mrs. Clinton personally.

All the while she has also been raising a new baby and running her husband’s campaign for Mayor. What a woman!

The arrangement set off concern among some government watchdog groups and a senior Republican in Congress, who questioned whether a person in a sensitive State Department position should be working for clients in the private sector at the same time.

The State Department has declined to say what role Mrs. Clinton played in approving the arrangement.

She knew nothing about it. Beside, "what difference does it make now?"

Ms. Abedin has not disclosed how much she was paid by Teneo, the Clinton Foundation or Mrs. Clinton during this period. She resigned from State on Feb. 1.

Fox News reported back in July 26th, that her Teneo income was $355,000.

Aides to Senator Charles E. Grassley, a Republican of Iowa who has led an inquiry into the matter, say they have faced obstacles in efforts to gather certain information about Ms. Abedin’s arrangement and about the rules the State Department applies in approving such arrangements.

The questions Mr. Grassley and his staff are still seeking answers to include: who in the department specifically authorized the arrangement for Ms. Abedin; who in the department was aware of her outside consulting activities; copies of contracts Ms. Abedin signed with private clients; and the amount she earned from those contracts…

Again, Fox News reported all of this back in July. So why is The Times just discovering this story now?

Meanwhile, the other side of the New York Times is presenting Bill Clinton’s defense of his ‘charity’ on their ‘Caucus’ blog:

Bill Clinton Defends Family’s Charity

By AMY CHOZICK | August 16, 2013

Former President Bill Clinton defended his family’s charity and its finances on Friday amid reports that the group — recently renamed the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation — had run up deficits in some years and been mismanaged.

“The Clinton Foundation was founded on the belief that we could help people in the United States and around the world solve problems and seize opportunities faster, better and at lower cost,” Mr. Clinton wrote in a message on the foundation’s Web site in an attempt to calm anxious donors.

Clinton aides often express exasperation that news media coverage tends to focus on Mr. and Mrs. Clinton as political figures rather than highlighting their charitable work. In his message, Mr. Clinton listed some of the foundation’s accomplishments in the 12 years it has been operating, like providing five million people with access to low-cost AIDS medications and helping more than 21,000 farmers in Malawi obtain seeds and fertilizer.

That’s it?

He also defended how donations had been handled, responding to a New York Times article on Wednesday that raised questions about the foundation’s finances. He said that the tax forms mentioned in the article “can be misleading,” partly because multiyear charitable commitments are reported in the year that they are made. That can make financial reports in subsequent years appear skewed, he said.

Because of multiyear commitments, tax forms “will often indicate that we have more or less money than is actually in our accounts,” Mr. Clinton wrote. This is a message that the Clinton Foundation’s fund-raising operation has reiterated to donors in the last several days…

That’s Clinton’s defense? His foundation’s tax forms are misleading and too complicated for us to understand?

None of this is particularly convincing. And The Times doesn’t even try to help Clinton out. So what the heck is going on over there?

“None of this is particularly convincing. And The Times doesn’t even try to help Clinton out. So what the heck is going on over there?”

Hopefully, this is a fast-track to Bill-Jeff’s incarceration. Sadly, he has many, many friends in the legal world but it would be particularly enjoyable to see Eric the Red amplify his master’s hatred of the Clintons through the same chicanery he employs on Zimmerman.

But also what we are witnessing here is tantamount to the Cosa Nostra mobs going after one another, but without the class and fine dining. IOW, the Clintons are “getting too big for their britches” and the lead mob simply has to have a “sit-down” with them while the papers report the wrongdoings of the minor gang known as the Clintonistas.

And Obama has to “straighten ‘em out”.

Arrogance is a perpetual motion machine. The truly arrogant are never humbled by anything or anyone. The Billary team is well known for this attribute and has been heading for a head-on collision with the obamunists, who are an equally arrogant lot.

Yet, deals have been made, initially beneficial to both sides but the shine wore off of that the moment Hitlery left the Suckretary-of State office. Blammo, the socialist-in-charge has planned this all along. It’s one of his sub-hobbies to his golf and schmoozing with celebs and is oh-so-romanesque in both style and content. His goal is to destroy Hitlery’s chances at the presidency, while also destroying BJ’s popularity, wealth and lifestyle; Not necessarily in that order.

Obama and his capos hate the Clintons with as much fury has they hate conservatives. Why, you ask?

First and foremost, they’re white. Second, they have a network that captain nobody envies, that was built with money from areas he’s jealous of and angry about, though he would be at a loss as to explain why in clear terms. Plus, after all these years the Clintons are still more popular than he is and he just—can’t—stand—that. After all these years, they still like the white dude better and more sincerely. So he’ll show ‘em. He will engage in yet another take-down of something that really doesn’t matter while the nation is burning to the ground. He does have his priorities after all.

The good thing is that he will most likely pull it off, thus saving the nation from a wretched presidency by Queen Cankles, who will install even more egregiously soviet operatives in the government.

These are nasty people. As I’ve said, they all hate one-another as it is. Infighting in such organizations are bound to happen based on that hatred alone.

For me, it’s fun to watch them destroy each other.

As a side note, this is why I don’t really care about the middle east right now. Let them kill one another and deal with the final fallout when it’s over.

    • It has just occurred to me, and I haven’t seen this anywhere else, that nerObama is going to set ole Joe Biden up as his personal puppet and placeholder just as Vladimir Putin did with Dmitry Medvedev. Obummer is willing to pull the strings and rule from behind the scenes for 4 years and then run for another two terms as president after Joe has proved his usefullness. Maybe having Biden appoint him Czar of government spending or secretary of magic or some office worthy of his majesty.
      Just an idea…

I doubt O is pulling any strings.

    The Clintons and charity?
    Now there is an oxymoron!
