Colonel1961 -- He's a seious minded "mexican" (though he lived in the United States for 16 years which should make him a Mexican American, but dont get me started on that) because he was sending his savings home to his cancer surviving mother. Sometimes it makes me believe that The Times stetches the facts to fit their agenda, such as in this case. What if he had been sending his money home to pay child support? Or if he didn't save money at all and just bought high tech electronics with it. Does that make him serious minded? Alas, those scenarios dont make for a good story.
