NYT: Weiner ‘Tells Friends’ He Will Resign

From a deeply saddened New York Times:

Weiner Tells Friends He Will Step Down

June 16, 2011

WASHINGTON — Representative Anthony D. Weiner has told friends that he plans to resign his seat after coming under growing pressure from his Democratic colleagues to leave the House, said a person told of Mr. Weiner’s plans.

Did he tweet this news to his friends?

His decision follows of revelations of his lewd online exchanges with women, said a person told of Mr. Weiner’s plans.

Material Mr. Weiner clearly knew about, but he hoped would not come out. (We will also learn later what "his decision" really followed.)

The news comes as Democratic leaders prepared to hold a meeting on Thursday to discuss whether to strip the 46-year-old Congressman of his committee assignments, a blow which would severely damage his effectiveness.

The Times can’t keep its mind out of the gutter.

Mr. Weiner, a Democrat, came to the conclusion that he could no longer serve after having long discussions with his wife, Huma Abedin, when she returned home on Tuesday after traveling abroad with her boss, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Now we understand Mr. Weiner’s sudden change of heart. By the way, isn’t Huma’s name now, Huma Abedin Weiner?

Pressure on Mr. Weiner to leave the House has been building for days, with top House Democrats, including Representative Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic leader, coming forward over the weekend publicly urge him to spare himself, his family and his party any more embarrassment…

Oddly enough, Mr. Weiner might be getting similar pressure to leave the house from Huma. (That’s house with a small ‘h.’)

But that pressure intensified earlier this week when President Obama publicly suggested that he should step down and Ms. Pelosi told reporters that she was prepared to strip Mr. Weiner of his committee assignments if he did not leave.

At the same time, the House ethics committee had formally opened an inquiry into Mr. Weiner’s conduct, including trading private messages with a teenage girl in Delaware. The investigation raised the prospect that he would face formal charges and sanctions, including expulsion. But with his decision to resign, the investigation is expected to end, since the committee has jurisdiction only over the actions of members of Congress.

If Mr. Rangel was not thrown out, Mr. Weiner had nothing to worry about.

Man oh man, that 11th Commandment is a biatch.

Speaking of which, I note the Weiner deflated the day after Huma got home. After weeks overseas with Hillary. Being coached and comforted by Hillary. Having a game plan laid out by Hillary. Observations and opinions roasted in the fires that are called Bill’s Eruptions.

I expect to see grill marks on the Weiner.

Penance for the cross dresser is the Frenchie Maid outfit (Hilda bought on the trip home) he must don while the BOSS is home.
      Now there’s a uggggly picture.

Just goes to show you….Democrats are not embarrassed by thugs, cheats, thieves, liars or race pimps. After all, Rangel still has his job! But naked picture of a skinny, ugly, New York Jew…that is just TOO much for party elders to handle.

    • Liberals Demise says:

Not too embarrassed by murders either. Right, Mr. Foster? Mary Jo?

Charlie Rangel using the ‘ol POOP vs. VOMIT argument. “At least he wasn’t propositioning little boys…..”

–by comparison to something worse, Weiner’s behavior isn’t all that bad. He’s right, Weiner isn’t as bad as Democrat KKK Robert Byrd, or mistress-murderer Ted Kennedy.

Gay lobby does the same thing, “A child is much better in a loving gay household, rather than a drunk, coke-sniffing, nazi-member heterosexual household!….So, gays should get married and adopt right?”

Ah, the temporary thrill of (BS everyone) victory….followed by the agony of the tweet.

As the saying goes: The Bigger they are, The Harder they fall. Figuratively as well as literally.
One question for Rep. Yap Dawg, Still love the spotlight and camera’s now? Get off the stage.

I smiled when I read that it was “his” decision to resign. I wonder if the arrival of his wife, earlier in the day, had any influence on on his announcement.

Damn! Now we won’t learn Weiner’s work-out routine for those perfectly formed jaw muscles.

First he’s in then he’s out, “cyberly speaking” it looks as in the old “in and out” got to weiner, . So my advice to weiner is to suck it up, “manup” and take the exit Rommel style. Of course he’d have to check with the “little wifey” before he did anything, as he is evidently unable to make any decisions with out her approval. The garbage and lies from our wonderful public servants in DC just never end.

Imagine if the media kept the pressure on a MUCH WORSE violator who….

    ~drove on a suspended license.
~was known to joy-ride, speeding in his car with the lights off.
~at a cocktail party with unmarried female staffers with married male politicians.
    ~drove drunk.
~crashed his car into a lake with a known mistress.
~walked back to the party, bypassing a fire station on the way.
~tried to get a friend to take the blame.
    ~called police hours later.
~allowed mistress to drown to death. (later had her body cremated)
~wife was at home with the kids.
ANSWER: Edward Moore “Ted” Kennedy.~served almost 50 years. . . (but when you have power, you can get away with murder)
….and Weiner sent photos of himself with an erection…..~wow.

–strange standards the Democrats have. Whet their finger, hold it to the wind, and decide if it hurts or helps Democrats…..as that is the only standard they use for all decisions.

I’m quite sure Mrs. Weiner has a firm grasp on the situation by now. The Sire of Sissy-dumb is in the skirmish of his sinistral life. Make no mistake folk’s, the slimey sinister siphon will,( in due time) produce yet more sirens. Sizable as this may seem, democrats always skate. Get mail from a Weiner, Promply, RETURN TO SENDER!
