O Aide: With GOP Today There’d Still Be Slavery

From the Washington Free Beacon:

Obama Aide: With These Republicans, There’d Still Be Slavery

December 3, 2012

Chuck Todd relayed the comments of an Obama aide on Monday morning’s ‘Morning Joe’ on MSNBC:

CHUCK TODD: You’re going to like this. So, I threw the Lincoln analogy at a close aide to the president last week, and he said, ‘You know, with this Republican, with the way politics of Washington are today, there’d still be slavery. Lincoln wouldn’t have been able to navigate the polarization between the media between this–’

It was an interesting and depressing observation from this very smart White House aide.

You really have to wonder if this aide who is "close to Obama" even knows that the Republican Party was actually founded to abolish slavery. Or that the Democrat Party started a civil war in order to continue slavery.

In fact, it is pretty amazing for anyone to even suggest that Lincoln was able to ‘negotiate’ slavery, in view of the ensuring Civil War, which is still the bloodiest war in our nation’s history. (This "very smart Obama aide" must have studied history to Harvard.)

But, what the heck, it’s another way to paint Republicans as racists.

Still, the most hilarious thing here might be that Chuck Todd though this was "an interesting and depressing observation from this very smart White House aide." Apparently, there is no bottom to his ignorance.

Jeebus Crisco … talk about am level of flaming ignorance so deep. Dude (or, Dudette) THE REPUBLICAN PARTY is the creator of anti-slavery, fought a war to end slavery and their first President was the man who issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

    Holy shiites!

IT’S YOUR PARTY, dumb-mule which desperately hung on to slavery, created the KKK and created the first eugenics clinics to rid the nation of Blacks!

    Good Grief!!

    • Massive irony: The Liberal Spielberg releases ‘Lincoln’, the movie, which proves that Democrats were the pro-slavery, pro-Confederacy party. And Republicans since Lincoln are the anti-slavery, pro-13th Amendment party.

Ignorance and stupidity are words too tame to describe the malicious, brain-dead Demonicrats like Joe Klein. We must fight hem with every tool we have in our box. They’re dragging us into the gaping abyss.

Irony is that I’m a bone-deep unrepentant Confederate secessionist rebel. And I’m not only willing to say these things, I want them shouted from the rooftop.

Because … the overwhelming majority of Southerners willing to fight the “thing” that inhabits Washington DC were willing to shed blood and treasure to …

prevent the very thing happening right now under Obama

“The consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it.”
      Robert E. Lee

“When the South raised its sword against the Union’s Flag, it was in defense of the Union’s Constitution.”
      Confederate General John B. Gordon

“The cause of the South was the cause of constitutional government, the cause of government regulated by law, and the cause of honesty and fidelity in public servants. No nobler cause did man ever fight for!”
Rep. Benjamin Franklin Grady-Duplin Co. NC 1899

“All that the South has ever desired was that the Union as established by our forefathers should be preserved and that the government as originally organized should be administered in purity and truth.”
      Robert E. Lee

but why are we upset over this “news”.

His generations history books and lectures where “corrected” by Liberal Commissars.

this maybe the first time Chuck Todd will soon hear of the true History.

aw heck ,it was only a thought.

    he’s just a jerk.

  3. with this Republican, with the way politics of Washington are today, there’d still be slavery.
He’s absolutely right. With the current wishy washy republican party representing the anti-slavery position, the pro slavery democrats would have won the fight. The spineless weasels in the current republican leadership wouldn’t have argued the point beyond a slightly, but politely, raised voice. And certainly there would have been no civil war. It wouldn’t have been P.C.
