Obama: ‘Abortion Is Above My Pay Grade’
From his girlish fans at Reuters:
Obama says pointed abortion query “above his pay grade”
Ed Stoddard
August 16th, 2008DALLAS - U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama side-stepped a pointed query about abortion on Saturday by “mega-pastor” Rick Warren during a televised forum.
Asked at what point a baby gets “human rights,” Obama, who strongly supports abortion rights, said: “… whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity … is above my pay grade.”
He went on to reiterate his view that it was important to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies.
Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who followed Obama onto the stage of the nationally televised event, was more blunt and more emphatic.
He said a baby’s human rights began “at the moment of conception … I have a 25-year pro-life record.” …
Whenever he is not reciting words written out for him by David Axelrod, Mr. Obama’s answers are so generic he sounds like one of those computers that has been programmed to sound like a human being.
On the odd occasion where he adds the least bit of specificity, such as here, he always puts his foot in it. (The article doesn’t bother to mention it, but Mr. Obama was also in error in his claim that the number of abortions have not gone down over the years.)
If it is above his pay grade to answer questions about abortion, then where does he get off voting on the issue — as he has in the Illinois legislature?
And where does he get off making the pronouncements he has made about abortion in the past? And why should he be deciding on who should sit on the Supreme Court?
But the abortion question was just one instance of Barack Hussein Obama revealing himself to be nothing more than a shallow, opportunistic political hack who is lost without his DNC talking points.

I thought there would be a flood of words over last night’s performance! The contrast between the 2 was profound, and Obama actually made McCain look far better than he is! Obama was lost in the haze of equivocation and sophistry, whereas McCain was decisive, to the point and vastly more experienced. The contrast was so shocking, that Democrats (and “independents”) on the C-Span phone lines started whining immediately about how unfair it all was—hilariously predictable. Finally, for some odd reason, Obama never sat stright up and insisted on tilting his head throughout the entire hour. What the heck was that all about? Did he injure his neck, or is this body language for “I am a huge phony”?

“is this body language for “I am a huge phony”?”
Maybe, but I am inclined to see it as apathy, laziness and disrespect.

I am sure he would say it is because his intellect is so massive it is hard to keep his head up……

I read Obama’s body language last night as - I am lying. It is that simple.
Because if you don’t believe in yourself (listen to him & his wife - it is not their work that got them there, it is America finally letting them advance), your job - notice how all the failures of the past 8 years are ‘Bush’s fault’ - when the POTUS just makes policy and it is Congress that votes and finances it - so who is the ‘failure’ of the past 8 years, I feel if Congress really felt that Bush was criminal, wrong, overstepping - isn’t it their job to reign him in - what better way than not passing any of ‘his’ policies, your country - need I re-interate how many times and ways Obama has dissed America of late and finally your faith/beliefs - which he proved over and over again in this ‘answer the question-not a debate’ forum.
He refuses to be as blunt and precise as McCain was - because he knows America would never vote for him if they really knew how he felt about many issues and because he can ‘nuance’ himself out of an answer when the unhinged left wing comes after him.
I hope that is awful performance seals the deal for HRC to stage a comeback in Denver - or once again - the Dems will have chosen a loser - in a time and place that they should have won. And won big.

I’d like to know just what U.S. Government position is considered “above the pay grade” of POTUS.
Once again, if the right doesn’t use this quote in a commercial, they deserve to lose.
