Obama Advisers Say Coakley Will Lose

From CNN’s Political Ticker:

Sources: Obama advisers believe Coakley will lose

January 17th, 2010

From CNN Senior White House Correspondent Ed Henry

Washington (CNN) – Multiple advisers to President Obama have privately told party officials that they believe Democrat Martha Coakley is going to lose Tuesday’s special election to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy for more than 40 years, several Democratic sources told CNN Sunday.

The sources added that the advisers are still hopeful that Obama’s visit to Massachusetts on Sunday – coupled with a late push by Democratic activists – could help Coakley pull out a narrow victory in an increasingly tight race against Republican state Sen. Scott Brown.

However, the presidential advisers have grown increasingly pessimistic in the last three days about Coakley’s chances after a series of missteps by the candidate, sources said.

Let’s hope the locals don’t get too confident.

Oh, and those “missteps by the candidate” were simply letting the public actually see her for what she actually is.

Democrats seldom survive that.

It will be the miracle I’ve been praying for.

Scott Brown lawn signs outnumber Coakley by 4 to 1 around here. I saw several of his supporters on street corners holding signs and waving enthusiastically today. This is going to be incredible! It looks like I’ll have to change my screen name – and I’ll be happy to do it!

  3. proreason says:

Republican lawyers are claiming that the temporary Senator’s voting priviledges are revoked as soon as the election ends Nov 2, even before the winner is “certified”.

If that’s true, it would stop the strategy of trying to ram Health Destruction through before the corrupt politicians in Massachusetts certify the race.

But as others have warned, there is nothing they won’t do to steal the election.

If it’s close, I think every notable conservative politician and personality in the country should fly immediately to Massachusetts and live there until the recount of the recount of the recount is complete. That would focus the maximum attention on the theft, and draw in ALL of the news media who would be forced to report on the happenings. I’m talking Sarah, Newt, Romney, Pawlenty (if he can do it as a sitting governor), Jindal, all of the talk show hosts, O’Reilly, Greta, Matt Drudge, Michell Malkin, Charles Krauthammer…..everybody…..and a rotating cast of Senators, Governors, and Congress people.

If something outrageous isn’t done to focus the attentiion of the country like a laser beam on the process, it will be stolen.

This could be the defining moment of this war. We can’t let it slip away.

Of course, that wouldn’t be the thing to do if the Dems manage to get out their thugs and dependents in enough force to take the vote, which is certainly a good possibility, despite what the polls are saying.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

‘Course, don’t forget the possibility that they will actually revive Ded Kennedy. They have him in a back room someplace in Bahston, hooked up to a martini IV drip and plugged into a breathing machine. The biggest problem they’ve had so far is not determining if he’s alive…but when comparing EEG’s to when he was alive, they can’t tell the difference to current readouts.

I have to wonder how many people will actually come out and vote, I’m hoping that alot of the young vote who slavishly believe the dribble coming out of the left don’t decide to come and vote. I’ve noticed even the local forums online which are normally very, very left leaning are full of support brown posts. Of course this is all western mass which tends to be alot more conservative than the eastern part of the state (Springfield, Holyoke, Amherst, and Northampton areas excluded)

  5. U NO HOO says:

Who did Obama throw out of the gym during his speech in Boston today?

    Looked like a young boy.

  6. Rusty Shackleford says:

If I were Scott Brown, and got elected, I would go to my seat in Washington, and very loudly ask, “Can I get a different chair, please? This one stinks…and it’s sticky”.

Just kidding. Remember boys and girls, Mr Brown is still a liberal republican. I hope he keeps to his word about the healthcare vote, but the democrats have a plan for that by delaying him as long as possible. That, of course, will serve to work very against the democrats, but will result in a passed Obamanation of a bill.

So, healthcare is one, very big, very monumental hurdle, but be careful what you wish for. Right now, he appears to be our best, closest hope to defeating the commies in office but I hope he doesn’t decide to “reach across the aisle” much and take kickbacks and bribes from the socialist regime.

    I fear he will.

Take a look at this and just remember elections in Nov. 2010.

U.S. House & Senate have voted themselves $4,700 and $5,300 raises.
    1. They voted to not give you a S.S. Cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011.
    2. Your Medicare premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years and
You will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr. Your total 2-yr loss and cost is
-$1,600 or -$3,200 for husband and wife.
    3. Over 2-yrs they each get $10,000
    4. Do you feel SCREWED?
    5. Will they have your cost of drugs – doctor fees – local taxes – food, etc., increase?
NO WAY . They have a raise and better benefits. Why care about you? You never did anything about it in the past. You obviously are too stupid or don’t care.
    6. Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie, Barnie, et al, care about you? SEND THE MESSAGE– You’re FIRED.
Up to 1/3 OF THE SENATE, AND 100% OF THE HOUSE.

It is ok to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of the abuse.
    Maybe it’s time for the……..
    Amendment 28

“Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United
States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives,
and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or
Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the
    United States .”

Let’s get this passed around, folks – these people in Washington have brought this upon themselves!!! It’s time for retribution. Let’s take back America .

After this Tuesday’s landslide victory for Scott Brown, for the first time in my adult life I will NOT be ashamed to be from Massachusetts.

  9. Tater Salad says:

Coakley will lose and here is why. A vote against her is a vote against the Obama socialist agenda:

Obama and his socialist agenda is going to be coming to a “screeching halt”.

The strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The “Cloward-Piven Strategy” seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

Hey, yo, it isn’t Kennedy’s seat it is Paul Kirk’s seat.

    Ehna or no?

  12. KevinQC says:

I’ll believe it as soon as the last faked, lost, or overlooked Coakley ballot is tabulated.

  13. JohnMG says:

……”as soon as the last faked, lost, or overlooked Coakley ballot is tabulated……”

The closest thing to perpetual motion you will ever witness on this mortal earth, Kevin. There will be people who haven’t been born yet voting for her. Dogs ‘n cats, even. Dead people. Dead people’s dead friends. Disaffected Republican Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

I can see it now. A photo of Coakley holding up a newspaper with headline reading “Brown Wins”!!

Brings a tear to MY eye.

  14. proreason says:

On a serious note, off-year elections have much lower voter turn-outs than Presidential years.

With suffient effort and bribes, there should be little doubt that the dims can dredge up enough votes, even without resrrecting people dead for 30 years.

The wild card in this is how many “purchased” Coakley voter will actually vote for Brown when they are in the voting booth.

The thing that makes me the most nervous, since it’s a given that there will be massive voter fraud, is that the WH today leaked a couple of times that they are predicting a Brown victory.

Every word that comes out of their mouths is a lie.

    • JohnMG says:

I’ve thought of that too, pro, the psychology being that Brown supporters will think a Brown victory is assured and stay away from the polls. A good ol’ nasty snowstorm would help Brown’s cause, but the best hope is for a 20-point or more blow-out for Brown. Not so much for the Massachusetts victory, but for what it would do to further energize the general electorate nationwide from now til November.

  15. Chuckk says:

I predict a very dirty election with all sorts of fraud and intimidation from the left. Everyone should bring a camera when they vote.

I hope someone is watching as the votes are counted too.

  16. lanahi says:

    Volunteers are being called for:

“Next week, Massachusetts’s citizens will head to the polls to vote in a historical election. Close elections draw intense scrutiny, and ensuring the accuracy and credibility of the process is crucial. For that reason, the Scott Brown campaign is assembling a volunteer team to ensure that every legally cast ballot is accurately counted. The citizens of Massachusetts deserve a fair and honest election.
He concludes: “Please do not wait, Election Day is January 19th!”
There will be attempted vote fraud by some Democrats in the Brown/Coakley Senate race. There is a lot at stake. A defeat which takes away Ted Kennedy’s old seat, and loses their super-majority, will be a humiliation and a political disaster for the Democrats. They will have every incentive to use all means available to them to prevent that defeat.

If you are lawyer who can volunteer in Massachusetts on January 19, go to the link and sign up now, or please forward this link if you know a lawyer who lives in Massachusetts or can be there on election day.”

  17. proreason says:

Massachusetts (and all of New England for that matter) is the premier example of the power of the media and “intellectuals”.

The common people there are hardly wild-eyed liberals. They have a lot of values that are conservative or even reactionary. Remember that Boston was the city that had some of the ugliest busing incidents in the country.

But it is has been virtually a one-newspaper state for decades, and the Globe is even worse than the Slimes. And then they have Harvard, the center of liberal idiocy for the planet. The Globe and Harvard set the tone for all other media and all other schools.

Between those two forces, the people of Massachusetts abandoned their common sense and became lemmings following the pied piper over the cliff.
