Obama Must Win After All He’s Put Up With
From a commiserating New York Times:
Obama: ‘I Don’t Believe in Coming in Second’
By Jeff Zeleny

MIDDLETOWN, N.J. – For Senator Barack Obama, the television image of his day on Friday took place on the floor of a glass manufacturing plant in the small Pennsylvania town of Duryea. But by nightfall, he was a world away from that scene, as he arrived here for a pair of high-dollar fund-raisers.
The singer Jon Bon Jovi and a nearby neighbor hosted back-to-back events for Mr. Obama. While his message was largely the same – criticizing Republicans for their convention message – he steeled his supporters for a tough battle ahead in the final 60 days of the campaign.
“I hope you guys are up for a fight. I hope you guys are game because I haven’t been putting up with 19 months of airplanes and hotel food and missing my babies and my wife – I didn’t put up for that stuff just to come in second,” he said…
As he stood beneath a tent on the expansive Bon Jovi compound, which resembled an Italian villa, Mr. Obama criticized the message of the Republican convention. He even suggested that his rival was running a negative race – perhaps more so than Mr. McCain would like, but offered no evidence to bolster his point…
Neither the images nor the words from his evening will ever appear on television…
Does Mr. Obama really want to go into what he has sacrificed for his country?
Our advice: stick to the teleprompter and the carefully focus-grouped comments Mr. Axelrod has written out for you.
Mind you Mr. Obama’s supporters at this fundraiser paid $30,000 to hear about his sacrifices.

I would have thought he would have enjoyed the time away from his America Hating wife and the kids he has been punished with. But that is just me I guess.
I read today where he said he could take Sarahacuda in a basketball game. I would pay what little money I have to see that. No fouls called just one on one. Bet he would not make it to the end of the game without whinning, “That girl is picking on meeeeeee”.

I”ve got some bad news and some good news Barak Huessein Obama. The bad news is you are not going to become the President of the United States. The good news is that you can then run for the President of the 57 member states of the Organization of Islaminc Conference. From Afghanistan to Zanzibar you can REALLY get away!!! ROFLMAO

Obama; …..”I didn’t put up for that stuff just to come in second,”……
Careful what you hope for, Barack(wheat). I understand Nader is still in the race and so is Ron Paul. That means fourth place is a possibility, too!

I hate to bring it to this imbeciles attention, but the American people get to decide the winner of this race.

Yeah won’t Obama be really dismayed when he doesn’t even come in 2nd? [Nader, Barr, McKinney and Paul - of course not to mention What's-his-name and Palin - Obama has a big hill to climb up now to try to be King] Talk about a girlyman - whining about hotels, flying in airplanes - missing his wife & babies.
Hey jerk - try going to Iraq or Afghanistan - eating MREs (definately better than C rations, but doesn’t even rate to 1 star cuisine), riding in humvees or tanks (in 100 degree plus temps - oh yeah fully dressed in ACUs with a flak jacket), not seeing and in some cases (Afghanistan) rarely talking with your wife and kids for 6 to 18 months. Try it even for a month and then we’ll talk.
What a wuss - of course to the crowd who paid to hear him - it probably brought a laugh or two. They wouldn’t know hardship if it spit in their face.

Think when he loses, he’s going to take Alec Baldwin and company with him and move out of the country?! (pleasepleaseplease)

Just wait until Sarahcuda beats him one on one on the basketball court. His girlyman squeals will be heard from coast to coast.

What a great commerical opportunity.
This new U.S. Senator (2004) has spent 19 months of these four years on the campaign trail. This after admitting he was not qualified to be President at the time he was elected to his current seat.

I dont think it’s really a good idea to point out times spent on electioneering as comparison between Sen Obama and Sen McCain…
This is Sen McCains second go at it. As such… you could say he has been running for twice as long. Yeah I know was an eight year break in there, but its not exactly a good drum to beat on. Also it reminds people that he got beat by President Bush, who the Media despises. (Guilt by association in their eyes). Personally, I think President Bush has done a great deal as a warrior President and I thank my lucky stars it wasn’t President Gore facing all challenges. Can you Imagine a Global war on Weather?

If it had been President Gore…
We would have invaded all the OIL rich nations on earth.. Just to stop the drilling!

The more I hear Obamamama speak, the more I picture a whiny baby with a bonnet on his head, a rattle in his hand, and a diaper on his behind…not a picture to inspire confidence!
And as an aside, I’m glad to be back posting on S&L. I wasn’t able to login until Steve reset my password this morning. I’ve been lurking studiously though…
