Obama Allies Rally Against White Dem Woman

From The Hill:

Obama allies rally against gun-rights Democrat in Illinois special election

By Cameron Joseph | February 13, 2013

Some key allies of President Obama are working to stop former Rep. Debbie Halvorson (D-Ill.), a pro-gun-rights candidate, from winning a heavily Democratic district in Obama’s Chicago backyard.

Halvorson, running in a crowded Democratic primary to fill the seat left open by former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.’s (D-Ill.) resignation, is facing strong opposition from several Democrats and liberal groups, some with close ties to the president.

The trouble is these groups have not been opposing Halvorson because of her views on guns. They have been opposing her because she is white. (See the article from last November below.) They have only recently seized upon Halvorson’s ‘gun views’ to avoid being seen as the racists they are.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), an Obama ally who is also close to House leadership, on Wednesday became the latest to come out against Halvorson ahead of the Feb. 26 primary.

She endorsed former Cook County Administrator Robin Kelly (D), stressing that Kelly would be the candidate most in line with Obama’s gun views."

After the State of the Union address (on Tuesday) it’s hard to say gun violence prevention isn’t a top priority for our country, and certainly for the president, who’s engaged in this issue,” Schakowsky said. “Robin Kelly has been a leader on this issue from day one.”

Needless to say, Ms. Kelly is black.

Halvorson is the only white candidate in the majority African-American district and is the one most opposed to gun control — she was one of the few Democrats endorsed by the National Rifle Association in 2010.

But because of the crowded field, she still has a path to victory in the race, and a Halvorson win in the pro-gun-control district could deal a blow to those advocating for tighter gun restrictions.

And we can’t have that!

Schakowsky, who endorsed and donated to Halvorson in her 2008 and 2010 campaigns when she was running in a suburban swing district, said she was opposing her now “because of the gun issue.” …

Right. You see, Ms. Schakowsky didn’t know Halvorson’s position on guns before. They were a secret.

Reps. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.) and Danny Davis (D-Ill.), two African-American Chicago congressmen, have also endorsed Kelly. Rush invited Kelly to be his guest at the State of the Union speech…

But this has nothing to do with race. There is no ‘Democrat War On White Women.’

Lest we forget, we posted this article from the Politico back in November:

Blacks fret free-for-all for Jesse Jackson Jr. seat

By ALEX ISENSTADT | November 27, 2012

Black leaders are growing increasingly worried that a white candidate might seize the seat of former Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. in the upcoming Illinois special election.

With a host of black candidates announcing their intention to seek the seat, the concern is that they could split the African-American vote and provide a plurality to a white contender. The worries escalated this week after former Rep. Debbie Halvorson, a white Democrat and veteran of suburban Chicago politics, threw her hat into the ring.

Losing Jackson’s seat would be a blow to the black establishment. Chicago, long a center of black cultural and political power — it’s the home of the nation’s first black president, Barack Obama, and the first 20th-century black member of Congress, Oscar De Priest — would see its delegation in the Congressional Black Caucus diminish from three seats to two. And there’s Jackson’s background as the son of iconic civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson…

“There’s a great deal of concern that Debbie Halvorson would win because the black vote would be split 18 ways,” said Delmarie Cobb, a longtime Democratic political consultant in Chicago who formerly worked for Jackson Jr.

“The battle we have is that we can’t afford to lose a black voice in Congress,” she added. “It would be a terrible loss in many ways.” …

Some black officials have met Halvorson’s entry into the race with outright hostility…

But all of this was before they could trump up an issue that they could use against her. So they had to be straightforward about it being just a matter of race.

    From the Land Of Lincoln.

    former Rep. Debbie Halvorson (D-Ill
    qualifications are:

1 liberal democrat ,despite NRA endorsement.

    2 fanatical Obama apologist.

3 one time you could Google her name and a link to “a box of rocks” would show up.

    perfect Cook County Democrat material.

so why is she defeated in her district gerrymandering and now is unwanted?

“Losing Jackson’s seat would be a blow to the black establishment.”

    Welcome to Chicago,
    the countrys largest
no Republican allowed in the city limits after dark comunity.

What? People voting based on skin color of a candidate and not content of character or their views being in concert with upholding the Constitution. This article gives the impression there is somewhat of a racial bias among blacks toward this woman and we have been educated by those all knowing, PC individuals that Blacks cannot be racists. Holder, Jesse, Al, Van, New Black Panther Party, along with the Congressional Black Circus, have proven they are very concerned with um, um, well, nothing comes to mind, other than BLACK POWER. (for themselves)
