Obama And The Amazingly Corrupt SEIU

Lest we forget, the Service Employees International Union, along with ACORN (with whom they share a common address), were most instrumental in getting Mr. Obama elected.

The SEIU figures largely in the criminal complaint against Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich today.

From page 60 of the criminal complaint:

Later on November 7, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH discussed the open Senate seat in a three-way call with JOHN HARRIS and Advisor B, a Washington D.C.-based consultant. ROD BLAGOJEVICH indicated in the call that if he was appointed as Secretary of Health and Human Services by the President-elect, then ROD BLAGOJEVICH would appoint Senate Candidate 1 to the open Senate seat. HARRIS stated “we wanted our ask to be reasonable and rather than. . .make it look like some sort of selfish grab for a quid pro quo.” ROD BLAGOJEVICH stated that he needs to consider his family and that he is “financially” hurting. HARRIS said that they are considering what will help the “financial security” of the Blagojevich family and what will keep ROD BLAGOJEVICH “politically viable.” ROD BLAGOJEVICH stated, “I want to make money.” During the call, ROD BLAGOJEVICH, HARRIS, and Advisor B discussed the prospect of working a three-way deal for the open Senate seat. HARRIS noted that ROD BLAGOJEVICH is interested in taking a high-paying position with an organization called “Change to Win,” which is connected to Service Employees International Union (“SEIU”). HARRIS suggested that SEIU Official make ROD BLAGOJEVICH the head of Change to Win and, in exchange, the President-elect could help Change to Win with its legislative agenda on a national level.

And from page 64:

Also, ROD BLAGOJEVICH wanted to know whether SEIU could do something to get his wife a position at Change to Win until ROD BLAGOJEVICH could take a position at Change to Win.

And from page 66:

HARRIS said they could work out a three-way deal with SEIU and the President-elect where SEIU could help the President-elect with ROD BLAGOJEVICH’s appointment of Senate Candidate 1 to the vacant Senate seat, ROD BLAGOJEVICH would obtain a position as the National Director of the Change to Win campaign, and SEIU would get something favorable from the President-elect in the future.

d. One of ROD BLAGOJEVICH’s advisors said he likes the idea, it sounds like a good idea, but advised ROD BLAGOJEVICH to be leery of promises for something two years from now. ROD BLAGOJEVICH’s wife said they would take the job now.

From the SEIU’s own website:

Let’s ‘Share the Wealth’

America’s most powerful union boss says Europe offers a good economic model.

The Wall Street Journal
OPINION: THE WEEKEND INTERVIEW WITH ANDY STERN
By Matthew Kaminski

“We just won an election. It’s no secret.” By “we,” Andy Stern means “American workers.” He also means Big Labor. Speaking on behalf of the fastest growing trade group in America, the Service Employees International Union — and as one of labor’s most powerful figures today — Mr. Stern sets this simple bar for the Obama presidency: “I expect nothing less than what he said he was going to do, and we should hold him accountable.”

From his perspective — atop SEIU’s Washington headquarters, which offers an enviable view of the National Cathedral — the first part is straightforward: “Massive investment” in a stimulus for the economy, the car industry, deficit-ridden states and infrastructure. Then universal health care, an issue on which the SEIU boss helped push the Democratic consensus leftward, and “tax cuts for the middle class” (and hikes for the upper bracketed). At the end of his list, Mr. Stern puts something particularly dear to unions: Quick adoption of the Employee Free Choice Act, commonly known as “card check,” which would end secret ballots in union elections.

The bit about accountability is no idle warning. Organized labor put up some $450 million to get Democrats elected. The SEIU accounted for $85 million of that, making Mr. Stern’s union the single biggest contributor to either party in this election cycle. And just in case, the SEIU set aside an additional $10 million fund to get people unelected if need be. “We would like to make sure people appreciate that we take them at their word and when they don’t live up to their word there should be consequences,” he says.

And this:

Create a New American Dream

This election has always been about putting the American Dream back within the reach of middle class and low-income people who work hard and want nothing more than to provide our kids and our grandkids with a better future.

Americans of all different backgrounds from all over this nation have sent a clear message: it is time to create a new American Dream. Sign this petition and show your support.

Statement of SEIU President Andy Stern: “Big Three Bailout Should Be Part of Wider Economic Solutions”

Published December 8, 2008

WASHINGTON, DC — SEIU President Andy Stern issued the following statement today regarding the negotiations of a bailout of the Big Three automakers:

“Today, amidst global economic insecurity, members of Congress and the White House are debating how and how much taxpayers will come to the aid of America’s ailing auto industry. We stand together at a moment when change is no longer on the horizon but determined by the choices we make each day. This bailout gives us the opportunity to not just rescue another failing industry but to imagine how our next steps could be part of wider economic solutions that will benefit all working families.

“First and foremost, the auto executives could join efforts to reform our failing health care system. Ours is the only major economy on earth that puts the price of health care on the cost of our products–a reality that eats away at the competitiveness of American cars in the global marketplace. For years, the voice of the Big Three has been silent in the call for Congress to pass affordable, quality health care for all Americans. By breaking contractual agreements and leaving workers without access to health care, the automakers have cut costs at the expense of the hardworking men and women who built their companies. It is not too late for the auto executives to ask Congress to shoulder some portion of health care for retirees until national health care is achieved–a step that would relieve the automakers of a major cost and extend benefits to individuals who need expanded health care benefits.

“Secondly, the United States should replace its gas-guzzling and aging fleet with fuel efficient cars produced by the Big Three. By pre-ordering and pre-paying for more vehicles built to a specification that guarantees considerably higher fuel efficiency, the government could simultaneously support the industry, create demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles, reduce carbon-emissions and take steps toward greening the economy.

“Finally, the auto executives should drop expensive and backward-looking emissions lawsuits against states like California and instead encourage adoption of tougher national emissions standards. This would level the playing field for automakers and position them as part of the solution–rather than part of the problem–as our nation faces an undeniable and monumental climate change crisis.

“We now know from unfortunate experience that change is inevitable, but progress is optional. If taxpayers are going to be asked to invest in $15 billion or more in bridge loans to keep the industry afloat, the package must include serious taxpayer protections, limits on executive pay, and a strong hand for Congress and the White House in shaping and implementing the immediate restructuring necessary to restore the competitiveness of these three engines of the American economy.”

Just a tip of the iceberg about who is calling the shots.

In reference to America’s most powerful union boss stating that Europe offers a good economic model, I strongly disagree. While it’s true they have their share of millionares and billionares, the majority of the population is firmly entrenched in a welfare/socialist society that rarely affords the ability to get ahead. Being half Swedish, a majority of my wife’s family lives in Sweden where they’re especially taxed hard to support their entitlement society. One of her uncle’s has only gotten ahead because he takes what little is left of his check after taxation and squirrels it away into various foreign bank accounts. That way it’s safe from Uncle Sven’s greedy hands. In short, I don’t want to see our country become socialist like Europe but I sadly see us heading that way unless something drastic is done. We need another tax revolt. Our taxation is not as bad as Europe’s but it’s still way too punitive.

What did Obama know, and when did he know it?

“Mr. Stern sets this simple bar for the Obama presidency: “I expect nothing less than what he said he was going to do, and we should hold him accountable.”

Well, that pretty much includes everything one could conceive of. The list of Obamy’s promises is many pages long.

Mr Stern, of course, is referring to the ludicrous economic commitments, but let’s not forget that the all-encompassing Obamy also promised to remove all the troops from Iraq virtually immediately, to invade Pakistan to get Osamy, and to have unconditional talks with Iran, Syria, N. Korea, Putin, Fidel, Hugo, and the rest of the world’s rogues. And then, there is bankrupting this and that industry, and making the ocean’s recede.

From a quick read of the complaint it would almost have to be Anna Burger or some one very close to here the complaint refers to.

It mentions the SEIU and Change to Win and she is the public face of the SEIU in all things and hooked into both of them.

The one Senate candidate the SEIU was shilling for was a female per the complaint.

Here are the names who have been proposed in the past.

Other names being bandied about include:

    • Illinois State Senate president Emil Jones, who was an early Chicago mentor of Obama’s and is an ally of Blagojevich’s.
    • Former Chicago city councilman and current U.S. Congressman Danny Davis.
    • Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White. White, Jones, and Davis are all black.
    • Tammy Duckworth, an Iraq veteran who ran for election to the United States Congress in 2006 and lost. She’s currently Blagojevich’s Secretary for Veteran’s Affairs.
    • Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan.
    • U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky, who is the Chief Deputy Whip and a former Illinois assemblywoman.

Somewhere……..(probly hell)………Jimmy Hoffa is dancing a jig and whooping that the Unions are Kaputa and they just may drag a President Reject (elect) down with them.
“Jimmy…..where ever you are, I got your bar tab buddy”
Don’t forget that only a black can go back in obamies’ place. Nothing like keeping a “Hood” in da hood!!

When ever you see the name John Harris-keep in mind: “: John Harris was a member of the administration of Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, 1996-2005 (including as Budget Director)”

“This means that John Harris — who faces SERIOUS charges — has all the “dirt” on Richard Daley and all of his shenanigans. ”

    Article

This whole thing could get more interesting.

Can’t wait for the part where Obama says: “I am not a crook!” Or, ” I did not have political relations with that man, Mr Blogojevich!” What else should we expect. After all, he’s bringing back most of the senior staff of “The most ethical administration in the history of the country.”

  8. Chinnubie

The people who voted for Obamy will say he has nothing to do with this whole thing but let’s get real all of the Illinois politicians know one another and Obamy’s ties to Tony Rezco will only get the “One” further into this whole mess. I think this is just great everytime a Democrap gets elected to the Presidency there is always a scandal. Clinton was rife full of them early in his Presidency and Obamy couldn’t even wait to get into office to let one fly so what is a positive for our side is that Obamy is going to have to keep putting this fire out for a while not to mention it’s really fun to watch him squirm.

Let’ not forget that Andy Stern, SEIU International president, is on the short list for the Secretary of Labor position in the Obama administration. So when the Teamsters have a strong presence is Chicago, Blog picks the SEIU as the union of choice to give him a chushy job.

Then we are being told that David Axelrod, the brain behind Obama, and who is Obama’s closest advisor, misspoke when he said that Obama had been talking with Blog about the Senate seat replacement. Yeah, right. Axelrod didn’t misspeak. It was just that Fitzman played this close to the vest and the Obama gang did not know what was going down.

Now Obama is going to have to face the decision: does he let Fitzgerald stay on the case, knowing Fitz is relentless when going after his man, or does he pull a Clinton and fire all the U.S. Attorney’s so that he can claim that firing Fitz was just standard practice? If you will remember, that is what Clinton did so he could fire the U.S. Attorney investigating WhiteWater.

The Chicago papers have been reporting that Rezko has been singing like a pet canary for weeks. Surely Obama had to be worried about that. Two months ago a grand jury requested all the financial documents on the purchase of Obama’s home and the lot by Mrs. Rezko.

I have heard many say “why didn’t Fitz wait until a deal had really been cut?” Simple, he had to put this into works before he was fired in January. Also, he now has a little over a month to require Obama and Axelrod to give statements. Remember, Obama has resigned his Senate seat and is currently just a private citizen since there is no official “Office of the President- Elect”.

I think it’s more likely it is coming out now to cover for Obamy. Maybe they just want to get it out of the way before the inauguration. Maybe they have already cut a deal with Blago to silence him. Maybe they think Obamy can spin this to make himself the hero.

Fitz is the guy that pursued the bogus Libby case for 2 1/2 years. Some say he is above politics, but that scam doesn’t look apolitical to me.
