Obama Appeals To Blacks Via Al Sharpton

From the Wall Street Journal:

Obama to Blacks: Vote Like I’m on the Ballot

October 26, 2010

Democrats have been trying to combat Republican efforts to make this year’s elections a referendum on President Barack Obama – striving instead to make House and Senate races about local issues. But today, Mr. Obama said he hopes black voters – his most loyal base — will view next Tuesday’s midterm elections as if he were on the ballot.

Appearing on the Rev. Al Sharpton’s national radio show, Keeping It Real, Mr. Obama outlined a record on health care and other measures that he said helped minority and low-income communities.

“So even though your name isn’t on the ballot, this is about your agenda and about the progress we’ve seen you begin to make over the past 20-odd months?” asked Mr. Sharpton.

“Absolutely,” Mr. Obama said.

Let’s hope he is right. Somehow we suspect that in every election where Mr. Obama and his agenda actually are ‘on the ballot’ in the voters minds, the Democrats will lose. And lose big time.

The president, who spent about 10 minutes on the phone with Mr. Sharpton, told listeners the Republicans are “pushing back very hard.”

“If we don’t have strong leaders who are supportive of this agenda, who are supportive of moving the country forward, and instead we have folks who want to move backwards to the same failed policies that got us into this mess in the first place, then it’s going to be very difficult for me to keep making progress and do what folks want to see me do over the next two years,” he said

Mr. Obama has been saying roughly these exact words for about a year. Is he too ‘intellectually limited’ to learn a new script? Imagine the howls of derision if (stupid) Mr. Bush had parroted the same exact words over and over again for more than a year.

By the way, when Mr. Obama calls us "folks" remember he really thinks of us as the "enemy."

“A lot of this, ‘He doesn’t talk and deal with his base’ just isn’t true,” Mr. Sharpton said moments after the interview ended. “He’s not trying to be a civil rights leader. He’s the president, he has to deal with everybody, but people need to understand it’s not like he isn’t accessible.”

Mr. Sharpton and other black leaders will hold a conference call tonight with the president and supporters to reiterate the importance of voter turnout

Damn those Tea Party supporters are racist.

Surely Reverend Al is in line for a top administration post.

  2. confucius says:

Obama just stated the election is a referendum on him.

Not politically savvy, I must say.

  3. NoNeoCommies says:

    Why not?
I’m voting as if everyone with a “D” after their name is Obama.
Same for any ballot measure supported by Democrats.
If they want an anchor, give it to them and toss them off the deck.

“If we don’t have strong leaders who are supportive of this agenda,

    That is–drooling lackeys

who are supportive of moving the country forward,

…to the return to the age of serfdom.

and instead we have folks who want to move backwards to the same failed policies that got us into this mess in the first place,

When uemployment peaked around 5.3%, people had jobs, and the national debt was controllable.

then it’s going to be very difficult for me to keep making progress and do what folks want to see me do over the next two years,” he said…

So you see, it’s all about me and making me look like the king I’m meant to be, that “folks” want me to be. And those “folks” few though they may be, are my most loyal doers and they will jump into the pit with me when the time comes.

the part that drives me absolutely bonkers is “the failed policies that got us into this mess”

The “failed policies” was exclusively loans-for-deadbeats, the exclusive marxists policy that was put in place to bring down the economy of the United State.

It’s equivalent to Charles Manson blaming Sharon Tate for her own murder.

There hasn’t been this brazen a liar in US history.

    • untrainable says:

They forget to mention that Oblamer voted for every “failed policy” that is responsible for the condition of our economy.

On the bright side, at least he didn’t take Air Force One to do the Sharpton show. Doing the Sharpton show, (I didn’t even know Sharpton had a show) obviously not as important as taking Moochelle to dinner and a movie in NYC.

One racist coveting another racist for ego-manipulation.
