Obama Begins Search For His Running Mate
From an overjoyed Associated Press:
Officials say Obama starts search for running mate
By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - Likely Democratic nominee Barack Obama has begun a top-secret search for a running mate, fresh signs that the general election campaign is well under way and the primary race against Hillary Rodham Clinton is basically over.
Obama has asked former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson to begin vetting potential vice presidential picks, Democ(AP) — ratic officials said Thursday. Johnson did the same job for Democratic nominees John Kerry in 2004 and Walter Mondale in 1984.
The Democratic officials spoke on a condition of anonymity about a process that the campaign wants to keep quiet.
Vice presidential searches are usually closely held secrets, but Obama campaign officials say the effort is being handled by a particularly tight circle of advisers…
Obama’s campaign refused to talk about who was being considered, but possible options are Clinton; governors such as Arizona’s Janet Napolitano, Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas and Tim Kaine of Virginia; foreign policy experts like former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn, Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd or Delaware Sen. Joe Biden; or other senators such as Missouri’s Claire McCaskill and Virginia’s Jim Webb.
He could look outside the party to people such as war critic and Nebraska Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel or independent New York mayor Mike Bloomberg. Or he could look to one of his early prominent supporters such as former Sen. Tom Daschle of South Dakota or try to bring on a Clinton supporter like Indiana’s Evan Bayh.
Johnson’s role running the veep process was first reported on TheAtlantic.com.
What a tough role to fill. After all, there aren’t too many people who could play second banana to the Messiah.
(One supposes that Mr. Obama considers his soulmate Mr. Castro to be too old and frail.)
Of course it is most likely that this is just a subtle message to Mrs. Clinton to drop out of the primary race now or lose any chance of being the great man’s VP.

I am sorry but aren’t we (in addition to the threatened re-create ‘68 convention antics) redoing the whole (I can’t believe I am saying this) - selected, not elected bs? Isn’t that oh so - ironic?
Obama The Movement does not have enough to win the nomination, Her Royal Clinton does not have enough to win the nomination - two states have been removed from the process - both of which probably would give Her Royal Clinton the push needed to be at least in a dead heat lockout with Obama The Movement, if not the win - but either way - neither have reached the golden ring . . .so once again, the Party of the People is ignoring the People and putting forth whomever they choose (sort of like the RNC did to the Republicans and conservatives back in Feb.). . .
And in the end (November election) We The People on both sides of the aisle are not going to be happy, shiny voters because We The People did not chose either of the presumptive candidates. . .Also like other elections - the other Political Parties here in the US are given no shift at all. . .
Meanwhile the Culture of corruptive ethics Congress can’t even get a meaningful bill passed legitimately. . .I do think that Pelosi and Reid are shooting for single digit favorables by Nov - just to prove how awful the evil bushitlerburtonco administration is.

“Of course with the careful omission of Mrs. Clinton’s name(s) from the list,”
Umm, Clinton’s name is the first one on that list — “Obama’s campaign refused to talk about who was being considered, but possible options are Clinton”.
Not that I want to see her back in the White House!

You’re right, of course, KM1.
I’ve corrected the oversight.
Thanks.

I am absolutely flabbergasted. Here we have the presumptive democrat nominee, a senator who has yet to complete three years of his first term, and a resume’ as thin as a ZigZag paper, contemplating a Jim Webb or a Claire McCaskill VP choice. Niether of those two have completed even three years of their respective first terms. McCaskill, trust me, built her portfolio as Missouri’s State Auditor while posturing for a senate run. Now THERE’S a real gold-plated bonafide for you. Webb? Well he’s best known as senator “macaca” inasmuch as that’s what got him elected. Napolitano is a swipe at McCain, and the three other senators who have distinguished themselves only by NOT making waves for their entire respective careers in a successful bid to continually get re-elected round out the rumored list of potentials. Then there’s Daschle, a has-been senator who consistently over-played his hand, Hagel, a “RINO”, and Bloomberg, who’s greatest accomplishment so far has been to spend the most of his own money to buy an election while flawlessly demonstrating why selective breeding is a mistake.
The “Movement” hasn’t a clue, and he’s lining up more of the same for the #2 slot. This “shit-for-brains” is more concerned with collecting potential votes than he is in “protecting this Nation from all enemies, domestic and foreign”. He should be fitted out with one of those sport jackets with the wrap-around sleeves. Instead, there are probably enough gullible dumb-shits in this country to put him over the top in November. God help us!

Ah, But this s**t-for-brains has both foreign and domestic covered, I just ask who will protect us from him?
His rantings in his books are worse than his mentor, he and his wife are the most unrepentant thin skinned racists to ever draw a breath.
His running mate should be simple to choose, any black panther should do fine, besides, Osama is in hiding!

Shucks, I was compiling a retort to “frogfarley’s” inane post but alas, it appears SG has banished him to the troll gulag of the internet.
That’s actually a good thing because his / her post didn’t make much sense anyway. The incoherent ramblings of a libtard moonbat from his basement, heh. ;o)
