Reality check: You have lost the trust of seniors. They are not going to trust you again. They have been a larger and more loyal constituency than even trial lawyers. The picture of some Van Jones-quality bureaucrat looking at their quality of life quotient to decide if it is time to put them down like old Rover is burned deeply into their brains. Unless you come up with a real reform (Hint:tort reform, end of insurance mandates, more competition and measures to end fraud in present system), your goose is cooked.

The rest of your presidency will be spent doing historic this or that – but nothing real. Forget cap & trade and immigration reform. Republicans will certainly take the house in 2010. African-Americans will start disavowing you as a real black man.

Start picking out your library spot. And you better start sending mellow vibes to next president Palin. I know you hope she will not be appointing John Ashcroft as special counsel to investigate your take-over hijinks – the way you are investigating Cheney and the CIA. Don’t pinch me – this dream is just too damn good!

When does the statute of limitations run out on Tony Revco? That deal you made with the unions – will it stand real prosecutorial scrutiny? And Guv Blaggo – are you or Rahm on any of those tapes? Will Rahm roll over on you if he gets his nuts in a vice. I suspect so.
