Obama Cancels Weekend Montana Vacation

From Fox News:

President Obama Cancels Montana Vacation Scheduled for this Weekend

by Kimberly Schwandt | July 07, 2011

President Obama has canceled a vacation to Montana scheduled this weekend, local police confirm to Fox News. The first family was slated to visit Whitefish, Montana from July 8-10.

"He was coming in for a brief vacation, this was all before the budget crisis hit, we were gearing up until last Friday, and then heard from Secret Service it was canceled," Whitefish Police Chief Bill Dial said.

Wow. Mr. Obama must be very serious about the budget crisis. Or maybe it’s because of today’s unemployment numbers. Or maybe he is just worried about ‘the optics.’ — Somehow we suspect that it is just the latter.

Obama announced Thursday that he was asking lawmakers and staff to work through the weekend and that leaders would come back to the White House on Sunday for another meeting to hammer out a deal on the debt ceiling

You can bet Mr. Obama is kicking his teleprompter right now. He probably hadn’t realized that ordering Congress to work over the weekend while he is vacationing in Montana would make him look bad.

Dial says they were first contacted three to four weeks ago and they had begun getting the sheriff’s department, local police and border patrol ready…

As of now there are now talks of rescheduling.

Obama previously had to cancel a short vacation in April to Williamsburg, Virginia during the height of the budget talks to fund the government. His last vacation was to Hawaii over the Christmas holiday. He was there for 12 days and returned January 4. The president has had to postpone the annual Hawaii trip for legislative work and also trips abroad because of the BP oil spill and the health care debate.

Boo freaking hoo.

I can’t wait until our boy Spike takes a permanent vacation in January 2013.

He must be so exhausted! So many fake smiles, false comparisons, and straw man arguments to make! Let’s give him a permanent vacation in 2012.

    Don’t hand me that bullshiite!
He can do 18 holes on Saturday and squeeze in 9 Sunday before the rubes awake.
Remember Hussain, “Jobs are not key in 2012”.

    when is he not vacationing?

Presidentin be hard. Time to paint some more grey on the dome.

Academics are unable to fathom working during summer months.

  6. proreason says:

Aaah, he has given up on Montana for 2012.

  7. bobdog says:

Big deal. I’ve been canceling vacations ever since he took office.

  8. Kytross says:

I thought congress was working over the holiday weekend because Freshmen Tea Party congressmen set up a vote on whether to leave for the holiday weekend or work on the budget, which would make anyone who voted to go home look bad.

I don’t believe he works on anything but staying in office. Generally, one needs to know something to work and produce anything of value. I have seen no hint of this anywhere in his existence.

“…ordering Congress to work over the weekend while he is vacationing in Montana would make him look bad.”

I’m not so sure that’s it. When has he ever worried about “looking bad” when it came to doing what he wanted and to hell with everything/everyone else? Like Pro says, he’s probably given up on Montana for 2012. Either that or he just can’t handle looking at people who truly are very rugged, individualistic, independent and family-oriented. Montana is a modern-day frontier state. Winter is rough, not a lot of help around if you get into any danger, and people tend to readily lend a hand if they know you need it. Definitely not Hambone’s kind of place.

I don’t know why he would want to go to Montana unless it would be to put the bite on all of the rich Californians who moved there and screwed things up like they always do. It’s hard for a westerner like me to fathom why any Montanan would give a rat’s a$$ about the skinny-a$$ chump. Oh, I live in Oregon and I can vouch for the Californication thing.

Jeez…..Last year I went to a high school reunion that was basically a long weekend, and visited a friend three years before also as a four day weekend. Aside from an occasional day off because I’ve maxed out the vacation time I can carry that’s all I’ve done in six years. Obama is on vacation every month just about.

What the Dems should have done in 2008 (and in a sense it’s good they didn’t) is fixed the economy first and got jobs coming in. Then they could have won re-election and as a lame duck he could have passed the healthcare bill and whatever he wanted.

Instead we’re looking at a double dip recession when we never really got out of the first one. Will he ever be lying awake at night wondering if he’ll have money for rent tomorrow or how he will survive until retirement? Or if he’ll even have a retirement?

How about applying for jobs over and over and being turned down because someone’s buddy wanted to get hired or they decided to outsource the whole thing? He’ll never have to worry, as the First Black President ™ he’ll have endless speaking deals, books, and a movie or two.

And after listening to the Libs and Media FOR MY ENTIRE LIFE trashing “fat cat Republicans” and insensitive cold hearted right wingers, what does it make him look like that he just doesn’t care about anything except his personal perks and free time? But I guess I’m just racist is all….

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Your assessment is correct, however as I have been pondering this for some time, and I’m sure I’m not the only one, I believe that after he is de-elected, he’s going to find the going pretty tough. It’s already happening that attendance for all his fund-raising is gone and that’s largely because “Barack the magic Negro” (TM, LA Times), isn’t so magic after all and the American Idol-worshipers are now abandoning him and his tired, accusatory rhetoric, looking for the next shiny thing. Sadly, that may be a re-hash of Hitlery but part of me thinks that isn’t so.

At the end of the day, even the left-leaning public members can properly assess if they, themselves are better off now than they were three years ago. Given that they are largely inclined against self-induced efforts to that effect, they naturally look for someone to blame. In this case, though, they’d be correct to blame government for the lion’s share. They may have even caught on to his lying, where he says he’s increased jobs but know of friends/family who are still unemployed, and they still have a mortgage to pay, etc.

As for his post-presidency, I think he’ll find that after the first wave of book deals and (god forbid) a movie, his popularity will fade quickly and not with any level of dignity, for he’s never been about dignity. But can you see the dismal numbers at the box office for a movie about this guy? I sure can. And the vast majority of the movie-goers would be, well, blacks. A very few uber-lib-retarded whites would go but, having just lived through the real story, they would most likely gag at the on-screen version.

And, it’s probably a fair bet to say that any/all things that come out of the books and other media would be just more manufacture to make him somehow look good. Or, they might use it as a platform to reaffirm their notion of a “racist America” when that saw has now gotten more play than an old Elvis record. In short, he’ll be less popular than Carter, and in very short order. And, due to his self-inflicted foot-wounds, he’ll further that along post-haste. If no one wants to come out now to listen to his vomit, why would they want to come out after he’s been thrown away?

It’s one thing to be a has-been….It’s quite another to be a “never-was”. A strong half of the black-before-anything-else group is losing their love of the guy who they thought would send them free checks. But as we know, such “love” is fleeting and also very subjective. What one person thinks is the right thing to do is not what one other person thinks.

This is why conservatives have a leg up and a leg to stand on; We categorically understand why the founding fathers gave us a set of directions (which this president has ignored repeatedly) and instead of creating a president/idol figure that we can worship and endow with mystical powers, we know even our own candidates are flawed humans and we base our faith behind them on practical opinion, not magic. We know they’ll make mistakes and that we’ll disagree with them but are willing to support them hoping they utilize good judgement and carefully measure their decisions from a constitutional standpoint and fairly represent our nation abroad.

Obama has done none of these things. His decisions are all emotional decisions and are gestated in a cradle of anger and hatred. He is “sticking it to da man” and that is not a thing any president of this nation should ever do. The damage he has done is academic at this point.

I’m also pretty sure that most lefties have had their “arguments” thrown back at them when they try to support this pathetic human being who happens to be our president.

Rusty, I cry at the truth in your comment, bud you make me laugh with your perfect pitch at sarcasm. I love reading your comments.

“he’ll be less popular than Carter, and in very short order. ” Plus he won’t even come up to Carter’s knees (and that’s real real low)…At least Carter builds houses for ‘the poor’. Can you even imagine our ‘messiah’ stooping to manual labor? let alone behave like the real Messiah…and wash someone’s feet. He thinks HIS should be washed being the Great I Won and all.

Guess Michele our Belle better get in a couple more vacations…at tax payer expense…I’m like you…I sense they may be feeling the financial pinch the rest of us feel now fairly soon…on a completely different level of course.

Didn’t both ‘voluntarily’ hand in their law licences? Wonder how much they are paying pizza delivery drivers in Chi town. Of course he could always claim a corner for a shoe shine business. Oops…shouldn’t have said that…lol

  12. Tater Salad says:

While BS’ing about not taking a vacation, Obama has done this one behind our backs:

The President of the United States is selling 125 – M1A1 Tanks to Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood. Just beautiful! What a moron! Is this because of the Israeli situtation?

  13. Natural Born Citizen says:

He is trying to do the same thing Bill Clinton did when he vacationed in Jackson, Wy. which is spend some time in fly-over country because his handlers thinks he is spending to much time in NE elitist vacation zones. BHO really does not mind cancelling this vacation and the people of Montana no doubt feel the same way.
