Obama Confident Weiner Will Rise Again

From Mr. Weiner’s ever hopeful fans at ABC News:

President Obama Confident Anthony Weiner Will ‘Bounce Back’

By HUMA [sic] KHAN
June 16, 2011

President Obama said he is confident that embattled New York Rep. Anthony Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin, can bounce back from the sexting scandal that ended the Democrat’s congressional career.

"I wish Rep. Weiner and his lovely wife well," Obama said in an exclusive interview with ABC News’ Robin Roberts to air on "Good Morning America" Friday. "Obviously, it’s been a tough incident for him, but I’m confident that they’ll refocus and he’ll refocus, and they’ll end up being able to bounce back."

Is there nothing that Mr. Obama will not opine upon? Though, to be fair, if there is anything Mr. Obama is an expert about it is ‘focusing.’ – No, wait. That’s not right, is it?

In any case, we tend to agree in this instance. Mr. Weiner may be down, but he’s not out. Mr. Weiner will rise again.

Indeed, as if to prove Mr. Obama’s amazing prescience, we have these joyous tidings from the celebrity crime blotter news site, TMZ:

Larry Flynt — ‘Genuine’ Job Offer to Anthony Weiner

6/16/2011 by TMZ Staff

Anthony Weiner won’t be out of work for long — TMZ has learned "Hustler" kingpin Larry Flynt has personally reached out to Weiner to offer the former Congressman a "serious" job with his company.

Flynt fired off a letter to Weiner moments after the politician resigned from Congress earlier today saying, "After having learned of your sudden and compelled resignation from your Congressional post, I would like to make you an offer of employment at Flynt Management Group, LLC in our internet group."

You have to admit this seems like the kind of job Mr. Weiner was born to do.

Flynt insists, "This offer is not made in jest" and says he is "willing to pay twenty percent more than your former Congressional salary, ensuring that your medical benefits would be equal to what you were previously receiving."

Is Hustler unionized?

Flynt — an iconic figure in the free speech movement  [sic] — adds, "I feel that your unfortunate resignation is a prime example of unfounded political pressure and the hypocrisy that has invaded democracy in Washington D.C."

Speaking of hypocrisy, this is the same Larry Flynt who during the Clinton years offered a $1 million dollar reward for any dirt on Republicans, and who has made several similar offers since.

He concludes, "I hope you will sincerely consider this offer, and I look forward to your response."

And some were worried that Mr. Weiner might not land on his er… feet.

Okay, anyone who denies we’re into out Fall of the Roman Empire era, you’re just nuts.

As per Joe “Bite Me” Biden; Stand up, Larry so we can see you!

…..”willing to pay twenty percent more than your former Congressional salary, ensuring that your medical benefits would be equal to what you were previously receiving……”

Larry’s pretty stupid, isn’t he? He doesn’t even realize Weiner still will have all the cushy benefits, medical and otherwise–for life, upon his retirement. Paid for by we the taxpayers, and exempt from the necessity of mandated purchase of health care coverage. If you don’t think this motivated him to resign before it could have been taken away from him due to criminal activity that would have been determined via an investigation, I’d like to sell you a bridge. But I have to give Flynt credit. At least he admits to being a scumbag.

Weiner insists he broke no laws……..just like he said he didn’t do any of the stuff he later admitted to doing……so what’s the big deal?

What! You mean you don’t believe him?. Why not?

  3. Liberals Demise says:

With Larry Flints help Weiner will rise again if Weiner is up to it!
I can sleep better knowing that Tony the Tweeter will have free internet play whenever.

  4. beautyofreason says:

Let me guess: The public outrage embarrassed the Democrats so they gently nudged Weiner to temporarily leave politics, promising to put in a good word after “therapy” so that he can bounce back as though nothing happened.
