Obama, Dems Wanted IRS To Probe Tea Party

From the Washington Examiner:

Obama calls IRS actions ‘intolerable and inexcusable’

By Brian Hughes | May 14, 2013

President Obama late Tuesday called the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS “intolerable and inexcusable,” saying those who unfairly scrutinized the tax-exempt status of Republican-leaning organizations would be held “accountable.” …

You have to wonder what prompted Obama to bestir himself to issue such a statement so late in the evening. Apparently, they weren’t happy with Obama’s first so-called condemnations, or Jay Carney’s idiotic remarks.

Here is Obama’s full statement:

“I have now had the opportunity to review the Treasury Department watchdog’s report on its investigation of IRS personnel who improperly targeted conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status. And the report’s findings are intolerable and inexcusable. The federal government must conduct itself in a way that’s worthy of the public’s trust, and that’s especially true for the IRS. The IRS must apply the law in a fair and impartial way, and its employees must act with utmost integrity. This report shows that some of its employees failed that test.

I’ve directed Secretary [Jack] Lew to hold those responsible for these failures accountable, and to make sure that each of the Inspector General’s recommendations are implemented quickly, so that such conduct never happens again.

Why can’t Obama do this? Why is he passing the buck to Jack Lew?

But regardless of how this conduct was allowed to take place, the bottom line is, it was wrong. Public service is a solemn privilege. I expect everyone who serves in the federal government to hold themselves to the highest ethical and moral standards. So do the American people. And as President, I intend to make sure our public servants live up to those standards every day.” …

Why the phony outrage? Lest we forget, Mr. Obama has been leading the charge on these conservative 501c3 groups, ever since he came into office.

In fact, Obama has been practically obsessed with putting an end to these 501c4s, or at the very least, finding out who is funding them, especially since the Citizens United ruling on January 21, 2010.

From the Politico:

Obama’s state of the Union transcript 2010

January 27, 2010

With all due deference to separation of powers, last week the Supreme Court reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests –- including foreign corporations –- to spend without limit in our elections. (Applause.) I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. (Applause.) They should be decided by the American people. And I’d urge Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to correct some of these problems.

Lest we forget, this is the blatant lie that caused Justice Alito to shake his head about and said ‘no,’ during Obama’s speech. Citizens United does not allow foreigners to contribute to campaigns.

In fact, the Supreme Court’s Citizen’s United ruling has been handed down just a few days before this speech, on January 21, 2010. And we now know that the IRS was scrutinizing conservative groups starting at least by March 2010. But it was probably just a coincidence.

However, as we have previously noted, Obama continued to include this in his stump speeches during the mid-term campaign in 2010, such as this one:

Remarks by the President at a DNC Finance Event in Austin, Texas

August 09, 2010

THE PRESIDENT: … Right now all around this country there are groups with harmless-sounding names like Americans for Prosperity, who are running millions of dollars of ads against Democratic candidates all across the country. And they don’t have to say who exactly the Americans for Prosperity are. You don’t know if it’s a foreign-controlled corporation. You don’t know if it’s a big oil company, or a big bank. You don’t know if it’s a insurance company that wants to see some of the provisions in health reform repealed because it’s good for their bottom line, even if it’s not good for the American people.

A Supreme Court decision [Citizens United] allowed this to happen. And we tried to fix it, just by saying disclose what’s going on, and making sure that foreign companies can’t influence our elections. Seemed pretty straightforward. The other side said no.

They don’t want you to know who the Americans for Prosperity are, because they’re thinking about the next election. But we’ve got to think about future generations. We’ve got to make sure that we’re fighting for reform. We’ve got to make sure that we don’t have a corporate takeover of our democracy…

We now know that in addition to Obama, other top Democrats were pressuring the IRS to take the very actions they took since they could not get what they wanted through legislation.

In fact, Democrat Senator Max Baucus, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, who will head the committee’s investigation into the IRS, wrote a letter to then-IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman dated September 28, 2010 urging the IRS to investigative nonprofit conservative groups during the Tea Party-dominated 2010 midterm elections.

We also now know that Democrat Senators Charles E. Schumer, Michael Bennet, Sheldon Whitehouse, Jeff Merkley, Tom Udall, Jeanne Shaheen and Al Franken wrote a letter to the head of the IRS in March 2012, demanding scrutiny of conservative groups.

And even now, Harry Reid is still demanding that the IRS do more to investigate conservative groups.

So the IRS was only doing what Obama and many other Democrats have been calling on them to do. So why is there all of this outrage from Obama and other Democrats at the IRS, who were only doing what they were told to do?

Makes you feel sort of nostalgic for Jimmy Carter, doesn’t it?

You have to admit that at least Jimmy Carter wasn’t a corrupt Chicago anti-Semitic anti-Christian criminal Bolshevik thug. (Carter was just an anti-Semite.)

But of course Nerobama pleads ignorance. Like Sgt. Schultz, He … knows … nothing!

Nerobama’s defense is his own child-like irresponsibility. His defense is his dereliction of duty. That he was AWOL. That he recused himself from governing. That he was too busy partying with Jay-Z and Beyoncé and golfing with Tiger Woods. Too busy evolving and changing his calculus. Too busy confiscating and redistributing. Too busy healing the planet and dissing Netanyahu. So busy blaming Bush.

That he is just an innocent bystander to the crimes of his own regime.

If a tree falls in the forest and Nerobama doesn’t hear it, does it make a sound? Well, if it’s just one tree … OK, maybe we’ll let that pass, just this once. Maybe we misheard. Maybe.

But when the entire forest falls, the “I-didn’t-hear-it” defense loses most of its force.

Sooner or later you have to ask, Who’s minding the store? Who’s at the helm? Who’s in charge here? Is anybody home? Who sets the tone and makes the policy? And where does the buck stop, if not with the president? If not with the most divisive president in history, who always speaks of “revenge” and of the need to “punish enemies”? Of the need to “punish” the “Wall Street fat cats” and the “bitter clingers” and the “corporate jet owners” and all the other white folks who refuse to pay their “fair share”?

“Distrust all in whom the impulse to punish is strong.” – Nietzsche, Also Sprach Zarathustra.

Of all the scandals, the IRS witch-hunt seems to me the most serious. It is an open abuse of power. The raw, naked power of the IRS was deployed to terrorize innocent Americans. Remember that this was, after all, the second prong of the Nixon articles of impeachment. And Nixon only talked about using the IRS –– unlike Nerobama, he never actually did it. Most importantly, it is an abuse of power that all except the dimmest members of the American idiocracy can understand. It’s difficult to dismiss it as a “side show” or “a stylistic, non-substantive change.” It’s personal. It means they’re taking names and nobody is safe.

Even Christian and Jewish organizations were targeted.

Perhaps Nerobama’s biggest mistake was his failure to follow Machiavelli’s famous maxim: “If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared.”

So everything now depends on whether he is allowed to get away with it.

The time for tea parties is past.

Should the smoke and mirrors obfuscate the true intentions of this administration’s backroom, underhanded and devious actions to the extent of being inserted on the tenth page of the government Pravda print issues and ignored by the left controlled TV alphabet news organizations, it is without doubt this is truly the sparks that will set the fires beneath more than a few organized groups with members willing and able to start an uprising that will produce the Marshall law scenerio needed to put total control of the country in the hands of those wishing to destroy our way of life. IRS using KGB tactics, DOJ mirror image of SS and the dumbed downed robots accepting blantant lies, proving the strategy of the Goebbel’s propaganda line; “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually believe it.” As we know from history, those that didn’t believe it were dealt with
in ways they could not imagine was possible.
