Obama ‘Spins,’ Mocks Disabled On Leno

From an oblivious Associated Press:

Obama tells Leno he was stunned by AIG bonuses

By Mark S. Smith, Associated Press Writer – Fri Mar 20

BURBANK, Calif. – President Barack Obama told Jay Leno on Thursday that he was stunned when he learned of the bonuses that bailed-out insurance giant AIG was paying its employees.

Obama told "The Tonight Show" host the payments raise moral and ethical problems — and vowed again to try to recoup the cash for taxpayers.

"We’re going to do everything we can to get these bonuses back", he declared.

Leno asked Obama what he thought when his staff first advised him of the payments, many made to traders in the very division that brought American International Group to ruin.

"’Stunned’ is the word," Obama replied in a taped appearance on "Tonight." He said he found it hard to fathom how anyone would accept lavish payments in those circumstances. "People just had this sense of entitlement. We must be the best and the brightest."

But Obama staunchly defended Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who’s increasingly come under fire for failing to block the bonuses.

"I think Geithner is doing an outstanding job," Obama said. "He is a smart guy. He is a calm and steady guy. I don’t think people fully appreciate the plate that was handed him."

Obama added Geithner’s carrying on "with grace and good humor. He understand [sic] that he’s on the hot seat."

Too many in Washington are trying to figure out who to blame for things — when they should be focused on fixing them, Obama said

The White House bowling alley remains in place, Obama said, bragging that he rolled a 129-point game ("Like the Special Olympics or something," he said), but a basketball court is a priority…

Mr. Obama and his friends need to pick a story and stick to it.

After all, it was his administration that kept the bonuses in the bailout bill.

"I think Geithner is doing an outstanding job," Obama said. "He is a smart guy. He is a calm and steady guy. I don’t think people fully appreciate the plate that was handed him."

Now that is comedy.

And so too is this sudden change:

Too many in Washington are trying to figure out who to blame for things — when they should be focused on fixing them, Obama said.

Yes, that is surely been Mr. Obama’s tactic for the last several years.

And speaking of President Bush or any Republican, imagine the outrage had any of them made fun of the ‘differently abled’ on national TV:

The White House bowling alley remains in place, Obama said, bragging that he rolled a 129-point game ("Like the Special Olympics or something," he said), but a basketball court is a priority…

Would the Associated Press bury such a politically incorrect gaffe in a parenthetical aside at the bottom of an article?

Of course not.

Obama makes fun of disabled children on Late Night with Jay Leno. Obama has done away with political correctness, considering all this bizarre remarks of lately.

    http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/03/president-ob-15.html

President Obama, in his taping with Jay Leno Thursday afternoon, attempted to yuk it up with the funnyman, and ended up insulting the disabled.

Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute appearance, the president talked about how he’s gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley.

He bowled a 129, the president said.

“That’s very good, Mr. President,” Leno said sarcastically.

It’s “like the Special Olympics or something,” the president said.

When asked about the remark, the White House said the president did not intend to offend.

“The president made an off-hand remark making fun of his own bowling that was in no way intended to disparage the Special Olympics,” White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said. “He thinks the Special Olympics is a wonderful

He also made anti-semitic comments when he said that investment bankers don’t contribute to our society.
“And what we need is steady growth; we need young people, instead of — a smart kid coming out of school, instead of wanting to be an investment banker, we need them to decide they want to be an engineer, they want to be a scientist, they want to be a doctor or a teacher.

And if we’re rewarding those kinds of things that actually contribute to making things and making people’s lives better, that’s going to put our economy on solid footing. We won’t have this kind of bubble-and-bust economy that we’ve gotten so caught up in for the last several years.”
I said to myself..err, I think investment bankers by and large contribute a great deal. I think by saying that investment bankers don’t make people’s lives better, he was saying something against Jews.

    • canary says:

pdSand/he’s been hanging around anti-semitic folkes for decades, and his former minister Rev Wright was against jews. This is very common of afro-Americans to dislike the Jews. Plus that PLO leader in Columibia University he toasted champaign with prior to election. Don’t forget Columbia Univesirty invited crazy Iran President to speak, and treated him like he’s a king. Obama Bin Laden’s recent audio release is to focus on destroying Isreal, and now oOlbama is trying to talk peace with Iran. ha. Obama has made fun of John McCains war time and POW disabilty too.

Plus, another million dollar airforce 1 trip to California to even go on Jay Leno?
Read he is taking 1 trip a week for pleasure, cause the White House is driving him nuts. lol. Pelosi is on her hometown trip in California. How green is that? Obama’s are having the time of their life.
Obama’s brain looks like a cracked egg. Ha ha ha. He is sooo funny. Just rhetoric observation. ha ha ha.

But this staph infection never realizes that his “employment” history is nothing of a productive nature. Unless you want to say he built mistrust, founded contempt and almost singlehandedly erected a wall between the democrats and conservatives.

I used to think he was just one peg up from Al Sharpton, but Al Sharpton is much more of a statesman.

He’s gradually morphing into the fictional character President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho from the movie Idiocracy.

  3. Rusty Shackleford says:

“People just had this sense of entitlement.”

Does it get any more droll than that?

Why, yes, in fact it does—

“Too many in Washington are trying to figure out who to blame for things”

(See “Bush’s fault”, blame, Obama, Who does he” throughout this blog.)

This guy is the most shameless politician of all time.

The expiration date for his comments is now under 24 hours.

Now we know what “audacity” really is……it’s getting a thrill from lying about everything all the time and proclaiming the opposite today of what you swore to yesterday.

Surely everyone but the most moronic obamabots can see the cards falling out of this idiot’s sleeves.

  4. BigOil says:

“Obama told “The Tonight Show” host the payments raise moral and ethical problems”

Makes you wonder what sort of moral and ethical code The Won possesses. People working in jobs with contractually gauranteed compensation are immoral and unethical – while steady Tim Geithner the tax cheat is beyond reproach.

  5. brad says:

potato(e) made international news for years, but none of Obama’s gaffes will ever make a Saturday Night Live skit, nor will special olympic activists be invited to weigh in, nor will the liberal press comment too much on this.

Keith Obermann looked like he was about to cry when his hero said something insensitive in an otherwise “Brilliant” interview…..

    Cheer up Keith…

Maybe (I can always hope) now that The One ™ has put both clod hoppers back firmly into his mouth – Emanual et al who really control him – won’t let him do another appearance sans telepromter.

Just goes to show how out-of-touch with normal people this fraud is.

I just wish that someone would move to Impeach him before he really destroys this country.

    Dear TCO,

  8. 12 Gauge Rage says:

He only bowled a 129? What’d he do, throw lotsa gutter balls? Even at my worst, I usually bowled between 150-180, and I thought I really sucked at the game. His remarks about the disabled only reflect the typical liberal/socialist view about people with disabilities: You belittle or destroy those you deem not fit nor productive to society. And in a socialist’s utopia there is no room for those less than perfect.

  9. canary says:

Since Ted Kennedy’s sister founded Special Olympics, I wonder if the Kennedy’s will defend these Special Olympians that have probably worked harder than Obama has ever worked in his life.
Obama is such a cheapskate, he probably won’t even try and remedy this by making a donation. I think Obamabeecho will invite them to the white house easter egg hunt. It would be great to see the kids bowl the Obamachos with easter eggs.

Note the outraged tone of this AP article:

Special Olympics bowler: I can beat the president!

By COREY WILLIAMS – Associated Press

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — The top bowler for the Special Olympics looks forward to meeting President Barack Obama in an alley.

“He bowled a 129. I bowl a 300. I could beat that score easily,” Michigan’s Kolan McConiughey (KO-lahn Mc-KAHNA-he) told The Associated Press in an interview Friday.

The athletic-minded president made an offhand remark Thursday on “The Tonight Show” comparing his weak bowling to “the Special Olympics or something.” He quickly apologized and told the Special Olympics chairman he wants to have some of its athletes visit the White House to bowl or play basketball.

McConiughey, who is mentally disabled, is just the bowler for the job. He’s bowled five perfect games since 2005.

The 35-year-old McConiughey has been bowling since he was 8 or 9. His advice for Obama? Practice every day.

As has been mentioned before, can you imagine how a similar remark by GWB -or any Republican or conservative- would be handled in the press?

    • brad says:

Bumbling Joe Biden and Obama and competing as the biggest gaffe machine in modern history, I can’t tell who is winning, but as a team, Michelle and Barack are beating Joe.

I don’t know how they got Rev. Wright to shut up, but somehow they did it.

I think if Obama really wants to make this right, he should stand in front of the

  14. canary says:

Arnold Schwwarzeneggar is duaghter of Kennedy founder of Special Olympics and critized Obama. Arnold on the other hand (who desparately needs money for California said)

After a White House meeting with the president, Schwarzenegger was asked about Obama’s remark and said he knew the president’s heart.

“He loves Special Olympics, and he would do everything he can to help Special Olympics,” the governor said.

This is b.s. I’ve donated to Special Olympics since 1984, so I can say talk is cheap, and forget Obama thinking it would be a treat to invite them to the white house. Give them money, proceeds from the book he’s getting rich off of. I’ll be not one penny of the bail-out went to Special Olympics. Obama should replace Pelsoi, Hillary, and the whole lot of them with these brightpeople.
