Obama told several thousand people at the Charleston Civic Center that patriotism means more than saluting flags and holding parades…

For only the second time in many weeks, Obama wore an American flag pin on his suit jacket. He has said he stopped wearing such pins routinely because he felt they became a substitute for ‘‘true patriotism’’ after the 2001 terrorist attacks. He recently wore a flag pin, for a day, given to him by a veteran. Campaign aides gave no explanation for Monday’s decision, except to say that sometimes Obama wears a flag pin and sometimes he does not…

After his Charleston speech, stopped at Schultzie’s Billiards hall. In his shirt sleeves and tie, he showed much greater skill at pool than he had shown at bowling during a much-lampooned stop last month in Pennsylvania.

As a small crowd oohed and ahhed at his third consecutive good shot, Obama said his talent at billiards was ‘‘the sign of a misspent youth. I wasn’t doing wholesome things like bowling.’’

Asked by a local reporter how he would deal with voters who think he is ‘‘un-American,’’ Obama said that if people follow the news, ‘‘they’ll know that I’m a practicing Christian. They’ll know that my grandfather fought in World War II and I was raised to love America. And all these phony e-mails talking how I don’t pledge allegiance are just political smears.’’ …

Not to pick at nits, but Mr. Obama actually started wearing the flag pin back in April, after news of the Reverend Wright finally hit the mainstream media, and then his “guns and God clinging” comments came out:

Still, that he deigned to wear a flag pin again in West Virginia is pretty obvious pandering, even for a Democrat.

Of course Mr. Obama is an expert when it comes to patriotism.

He learned all about loving America at the knee of his spiritual mentor, the Reverend Doctor Jeremiah Wright, Jr.

Don’t you just love how the left has mastered the “straw dog” argument. They send out phony emails (if they even bother to) and then have Snopes or other DNC front groups “fact check” them and declare them to be “smear campaigns.” All the while conveniently sweeping the actual facts under the rug.

It was ever thus.

    WTF? the Hussien thinks that pool players are misspent? But he was only such in his youth?

    BHO Translation: Adults who play pool lead “misspent” lives.

    Are we back to clinging to god and guns here? Every time this guy opens his mouth, he reveals more of his biggotry. I don’t think he even knows what a class biggot he is.

    You know reading Obama The Movement’s comments here - and coupling them with the bitter comments, the 57 states comment (at Michelle Malkin’s site there is a button out, with the new 57 state ‘flag’) - just shows how really, politically immature he is - of course all politicos make a mistake - but ‘just let me eat my waffle’ Barry is showing, that without a practiced speech, he can’t manage to do it without mis-speaking, showing his own bigotry or his ignorance - that is not inspiring to me as a candidate. And he hasn’t even gotten to the ‘issues’ yet. . .Can you only imagine if this was a Republican candidate - we’d be hearing about these gaffes for ever.

    -’ phony e-mails talking how I don’t pledge allegiance’- my emails don’t talk, do yours? and ‘I don’t pledge allegiance’ - either an interesting freudian slip or he does not know how to construct a sentence to say what he means - of course we know he doesn’t mean what he says. . . that’s a given with politicos nowdays.

    Obama was in Cape Giradeau MO today accompanied by our very own Senator Claire McCaskill (D), Missouri. Voopie! No word on whether he was wearing the flag on his lapel, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he did. That’s Bible Belt country where the people “cling to their guns and religion”, and he’s got some fence-mending to do if he intends to carry that part of the state. As a guy I was in “Nam with would say, “What a dildoe”! Need I translate?

    Poor Barak Hussein Obama. He had to whore himself out to whitey for only 26% of the Vote. I wonder how long he had to shower afterward. ROFLMAO
