Obama: Don’t Get Bogged Down In Details

From The Hill:

Obama to supporters: Don’t get ‘bogged down’ on war, taxes

By Michael O’Brien – 08/04/11

President Obama counseled supporters Wednesday evening "not to get too bogged down" in details when explaining his record to voters during the campaign.

The president, in a video conference with supporters Wednesday night from Chicago, encouraged his backers to focus on broad themes when it comes to his policies on taxes and war, instead of the specifics of individual policies.

"I think the key is not to get too bogged down in detail," the president said last night.

"If somebody asks about taxes, nobody is really interested in hearing what precise marginal tax rate change would you like to see in the tax code," Obama said. "What they want to know is that our campaign stands for a fair, just approach to the tax code that says everybody has to chip in, and that it’s not right if a hedge fund manager is being taxed at a lower rate than his or her secretary."

The problem is the devil Obama is in the details. By the way, just imagine what will happen if Obama’s voters hear everybody is going to have to start ‘chipping in’ and paying income tax?

On Afghanistan and Iraq, Obama said: "If somebody asks about the war, whether it’s Iraq or Afghanistan — if it’s Iraq, you have a pretty simple answer, which is all our folks are going to be out of there by the end of the year. If it’s Afghanistan, you can talk about, look, we think it’s time for us to transition to Afghan lead and rebuild here at home. So, again, it’s a values issue: Where are we prioritizing our resources?" …

Just look at how we are prioritizing our resources in Libya, for instance.

Obama said his campaign, led by Jeremy Bird, his national field director, would take the lead in ensuring that volunteers have good talking points to take out on the campaign trail. The president said his administration would also lay out new initiatives that would help his grassroots volunteers sell his record

It’s all part of his laser-like focus on saving and creating jobs. Well, his job, anyway.

By the way, doesn’t this remind you of how the Democrats were told not to bring up Obama-care during the 2010 midterms? But even that didn’t help them. And this won’t either.

As Mr. Obama himself once said: ‘You can’t fool all of the people all the time.’ (The media said it was Obama.)

The president, himself a past community organizer, also said it wasn’t so bad for volunteers to tell questioners that they don’t know the answer.

"They don’t expect you to know the ins and outs of every single policy," Obama said

In other words, if anybody asks any hard questions about Mr. Obama’s horrible record, just ‘dummy up.’

And that is pretty good advice. In fact, we would say that the best thing they can say about Obama’s record is to say nothing.

STOP THE PRESSES! At the Treasury Dept.

  2. proreason says:

Yep, concentrate on the broad issues, since his supporters are too stupid to know the details:
    – redistribution of wealth and power
    – destruction of the rich (i.e., white americans)
    – reaching out to foreign countries (i.e., boosting America’s enemies)
    – destroying the rule of law
    – love of Obamy

    Did I miss anything?

Obama: Don’t get bogged down on the war or economy, instead, concentrate on my charismatic awesomeness. You know, the stuff that got me elected the first time despite a terrible record.

Do The Math! Look @ Pro’s post yesterday! Look how much Education, HHS, EPA, etc went up since 2008. 50% in some cases!!!! Do The Math! And, if you haven’t passed out after that, start figuring out how to throw every damn dope who could support such reckless spending.

Good luck stuffing this toothpaste back in the tube. His blank slate campaign of 3 years ago can’t work after 3 years of Marxism.

His Newspeak campaign is already slipping up. He forgot to tell his sycophants to replace the word tax with revenue enhancements. So much bs, it must be hard to keep it all straight.

  5. Papa Louie says:

Obama knew his reckless spending would harm the economy. Here’s the proof from his own mouth:

“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China. We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt. … It will have a dampening effect on our economy.” — President Obama on May 14, 2009 at a Town-hall meeting in New Mexico

  6. Howard Roark says:

Obama doesn’t want his minions to use details when defending his record because mobs don’t operate that way. They react to images, notions, and feelings.

He operates like a snake charmer leading you away from details, logic, and proof to charged images of hedge fund tycoons versus their secretary.

…..”In other words, if anybody asks any hard questions about Mr. Obama’s horrible record, just ‘dummy up.’…….”

Dummy up? That sounds like a cue card for Obama to enter stage right and approach the tele-prompter.

Why does the United States and every other capitalist, free market system need rich people?

Why the Free Market system is the top dog when it comes to people lives and their future.

The goal of the Barack Obama regime. No one can dispute that there are parallels between what has already been put into place and what Obama wants in the future:

Capitalism: Private ownership of wealth .
Communism: Common ownership and control of property.
Socialism: Government ownership of industry and capital. –

“Tax the rich, feed the poor
Till there are no rich no more”
Marxism: Law is considered an instrument of oppression and control.
