Obama Gets Social Security Wrong Again

From his news conference yesterday:

Most Americans, they’re just trying to figure out how to — how to go about their lives and — and how can we make sure that our elected officials are looking out for us. And that means because it’s a big, diverse country and people have a lot of complicated positions, it means that in order to get stuff done, we’re going to compromise. This is why FDR when he started Social Security it only affected widows and orphans. You did not qualify. And yet now it is something that really helps a lot of people.

As Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters points out, Mr. Obama has made this preposterous claim before, on the Daily Show, back in October. And no one has thought to set him straight. (Of course it’s possible that there is no one in this administration who knows better.)

Needless to say, Social Security was originally intended to be ‘old age assistance’ – for everyone who paid into the system or whose spouse did. (It also was intended to supply unemployment benefits for those who were not eligible for jobless benefits otherwise.)

But isn’t it shocking that Mr. Obama is ignorant of such a basic fact? Especially when he admires the ‘New Deal’ so much that he wants to give us a ‘Second New Deal’?

Of course, to be fair, Mr. Obama doesn’t seem to know much about anything.

Excuse me for saying that his ‘gaffes’ of late simply prove (maybe because he is rattled at how badly his numbers are going and of course the elections) – that this was indeed the empty suit I believed him to be – who has no clue about anything.

Never forget, even this moron wrote in his tomb of wisdom – that his community organizing didn’t do a damn thing positive (which wasn’t it in the news recently that they are finally razing that disaster of a ‘public’ housing?!?) – and that the people did more on their own?! Go figure.

And we all know he cheated to get his state Senator ‘gig’ and has sealed all those papers that lead to his “Present” votes.

All this just goes to show – that the conservative/right commentary wasn’t racist – It was simply the truth.

In the mind of a narcissist, the only facts are what he says.

Think about it, security of any sort is simply not a concept that Obammy can get his little brain around.

We’re witnessing an historic meltdown of epic proportions, more than comparable to the ‘mad emperor’ period of Ancient Rome. Bur he’s got the nuclear launch codes, so there are few differences…

There are none soooo blind as those who will not hear.
    (or something like that)

Maybe Obama could start up his own PAC. Something he could really be in charge of and is qualified to do. He could give it a catchy name–something along the line of MORON.ORG

I mentioned last month, not that it’s any great revelation, that the boy is going to lash out and show his ass more frequently and more overtly. His presser yesterday demonstrates how the chips on his shoulders lay, how he is easily frustrated, and how he will turn on those who got him elected. They installed him to get a job done and as Rush mentioned today, the left is an assemblage of people who will never be satisfied. They are perpetually angry at the world and at themselves, though they never recognize the latter. No introspection ever comes from a socialist, it’s always something other than themselves that’s at fault or causing problems.

The big ZerO is the embodiment of all of that. And the socialists elected one of their very own. And he’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. I loved it that he lashed out at his own kind. And, as I said, he’s gonna piss off EVERYONE. Not just the conservatives, but his own base. He is intolerant, counter-productive, petulant, obnoxious and rude. And those are his good qualities. The next two years, starting yesterday, will see more of this and to greater levels. Those who witnessed LBJ’s temper tantrums have seen nothing. This ass-clown is going to be an executive order nightmare on Elm Street. Everyone’s worst nightmare will come true with the wave of his angry pen with blood-ink.

I’m also thinking that the republicans will not have to do a thing to bring him down as the left will willingly do it for us. It’s already started with his being asked more difficult questions (that he took severe umbrage to) and they will continue and get more critical. In a way, it’s a pleasure to see, other than I never would have imagined the nation that I love so much has to go through this agonizing display.

The saddest part of all is that the general population will not store this in memory and will elect another untried, unqualified, inept radical leftist again someday. My grand parents had FDR. My parents had LBJ…we have BHO. Isn’t it funny that in each case, many referred to these people by their initials? I’m all for having a conservative president that operates as a chief executive should, with all that entails and take comfort in the fact that hollyweird will have a target. When that happens, one can be fairly sure that everything else will be fine.

I agree with Rush that this presidency and this president is “graffiti on the walls of history”. This administration is probably a mess of epic proportions and so disorganized that finding a memo, a document of any kind is next to impossible. They are children playing in their parents closet and making a huge mess. That in itself isn’t so bad as much as it the trouble it will be to clean up. What they have deemed progress is legislative lava that will burn or melt anything it touches. Whether based on good intentions, festering anger or purely intentional destruction, the harm is real. Hopefully not permanent but it will be somewhat lasting. But this news conference is perhaps the first time the American public got a real face-ful of this child who sits in the president’s chair and his spoiled brat mentality.

Affirmative action + white guilt = President Obama. Knowledge & experience mean nothing.

    • proreason says:

I have a hard time understanding white guilt. If whites should feel guilty about anything, it is voting for the most dangerous person to appear on earth since Mao died.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Let me give you an example, Pro. Where I work, there’s a manager who hires administrative assistants. In the past decade, they have all been black females. And they have always been inept, incapable and unhappy in their jobs. When they ultimately end up getting fired (the common result) or they quit (the exception) they get replaced by a duplicate. The guy who hires them is a dyed-in-the-wool socialist. A bureaucrat of renowned incompetence in his own right. He does not learn. He is incapable of self-assessment, yet for some reason, he still has a job. He has held several positions in the company, all of which have resulted in more money spent with nothing to show for it. His track record for hiring affirmative-action personnel is now well-known. Whenever his name is mentioned there is always a pause afterward and not just a little bit of eye-rolling. He’s a middle-aged white guy who actually believes that he is “helping” by hiring inept, incapable and frustrated people to do a fairly involved job which is tailored to a very specialized field. He is crippled by his socialism and belief that blacks “need” help by being hired to do something that requires a strong skill set. This is not to say all blacks are incapable of doing it…but he seems to pick from a pool of people who would be better suited doing something else. But his candidates are always black females. Always. We’ve never had a white male as an administrative assistant, or any other race/nationality for that matter. Never.

Sounds like he’s getting something other than idealogical satisfaction
