Here in Los Angeles, I can tell you one thing, the gays & lesbians are peeling away very very quickly. Most of them are not impressed with this extension of health benefits to federal employee partners, especially because it appears taht Obama is going to extend a public health plan to everyone in the country. Kind of like giving someone a free toaster the day there's a toaster glut. That protest happened, by the way, the day after he unveiled Sotomayor as SCOTUS pick.
