Obama Gives Paterson ‘Kiss Of Death’

From a very forgiving New York Times:

Obama Arrives to an Awkward Hug From Paterson

September 21, 2009

By Nicholas Confessore AND Helene Cooper

ALBANY — So what did he say?

After President Obama walked down from Air Force One shortly after his plane landed shortly before 11 a.m. Monday, he and Gov. David A. Paterson had a brief greeting. They shook hands. Mr. Obama gave Mr. Paterson a half-embrace, and then whispered into his ear for a few seconds. It was impossible for anyone nearby to hear over the roar of the engines.

The tarmac meeting was the first time the two men crossed paths since the news broke that Mr. Obama had told Mr. Paterson that the White House had lost confidence in the governor’s ability to win election next year and that he should abandon his campaign for the good of the Democratic Party.

Also on Monday, for the first time, the White House publicly addressed the issue of the president’s involvement in New York politics and did not deny that Mr. Obama counseled Mr. Paterson to pull the plug on his election plans

Television news crews — who were about 100 feet away from the two men — noted that when Mr. Obama went in for the quick hug, he turned his back to the cameras. The news crews said that Mr. Obama did not appear to be smiling when he turned around.

Mr. Obama moved on to greet others, but stepped next to Mr. Paterson to say a few things to the group of five or six people assembled around him. There were a couple of more pats on the back — Mr. Paterson on Mr. Obama and Mr. Obama on Mr. Paterson — and then it was over. Mr. Obama got into one car. Mr. Paterson got into another car. Plenty of New York media were on hand to visually catch the exchange.

The president was in town to deliver an economic address at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. Mr. Paterson arrived at an industrial lab at the college around 11:30 a.m., before the president, and walked to his seat in the front row, just to the left of the stage where Mr. Obama will speak.

Mr. Paterson received light applause from the audience once they realized he had arrived. At one point he was left standing by himself for about 20 seconds, while others around him greeted each other, his hands clasped in front of him.

A few minutes later, the state attorney general, Andrew M. Cuomo, and his entourage arrived. Mr. Cuomo is the Democrat many party leaders prefer as their gubernatorial candidate next year, believing he would stand a better chance of winning should Rudolph W. Giuiliani, the former New York City mayor, decide to make a run for the office.

Mr. Cuomo was accompanied at the college by Senator John L. Sampson, the Democratic leader. After spotting Mr. Paterson, Mr. Cuomo gave him a hug and the two chatted briefly and smiled.

Mr. Cuomo took his seat and socialized with local, state and party officials — at one point laughing so loudly that his laugh could be heard through loudspeakers set in the lab. He even waved at one point to the throng of reporters who were gathered around a set of bleachers next to where Mr. Paterson and all the other officials were awaiting the president.

Mr. Paterson, seated a few seats away, looked far more subdued.

Isn’t this a mafia tradition?

To embrace and kiss the person you are about to do away with?

Isn’t it what they call ‘the kiss of death.’

New Yorkers remember George Pataki & Rudy Guiliani…that’s why.

Racism .. It’s the only way to explain this.

Will it be racism when someone suggests Obama not run in 2012?

When will Blacks wake up to the realization that Obamy and his Controllers are using them just like they are using all his other “allies”?

If they are able to consolidate power as they desire, all of us….black, white, brown, old, young, union, non-union, male, female will finally achieve equality.

    As serfs.

  4. Right of the People

    Paterson sleeps with the fishes.

  5. Typical behavior of his type. Breeze in with hugs and sincere exchanges for the cameras, while the heartbeat of a cold, calculating, soulless man-boy beats on. This kind of style-over-substance actually works for Barry’s biggest voting bloc: the swing voters.

Yes, it looks like this poor old, blind, black man is just the latest of Barry’s casualties. Paterson’s only crime, of course, is that he nominated a House member for taking Hill’s place, thereby threatening the Don’s power in Congress. That, of course, and his treatment of Democrat royalty, Caroline Kennedy. That black man didn’t have the damn sense to do what his racemaster told him to do. Twice!

Barry didn’t care what imagery would arise from the old black man doing the bidding of the plantation owners, The Kennedys, but the old black man himself did. So he deviated from the easy-to-understand orders from His Excellancy, and publicly dismissed the pretty, rich, plantation owner’s daughter. That’s it–he’s gotta go.

After his meteoric rise to stardom last year in the wake of the Spitzer scandal, we all witness the tragic fall of a man who wanted to do things his way, walk his own path as a black man in America. Unfortunately, he wandered off the reservation. But, after all, he is blind.

  6. Obama, being a closet Marxist will not let Paterson off the hook. Paterson will “get sick” and not be able to run. The Russians (Communists) do this type of thing all the time. Watch!

  7. I wonder if the one is paying attention to the steadily shrinking electoral college in MI?

Our own lieutenant guv is about as electable as yesterday’s fresh catch, yet he will be the choice of the Dems in 2010… Maybe he needs a visit from “the Don” himself, lest he get ahead of himself.

  8. catie

Yeah, somehow they’ll get rid of old Davey for “the good of the party” so cuomo can slide right into the slot.

  9. One question! How big are the tires on the bus that this Governor Paterson is going to have run over his azz? Hope they don’t use “Re-treads”!

  10. Now this has to be a first for a black man. We got a black President telling another black person that he isn’t good enough for the governors job. That’s a first. I’d love to hear what Paterson tells his ole’ lady tonight before bedtime about what he thinks “really” …..of Obama!

Obamy is 1/8 African American (maybe only 1/16).

Commy Daddy Obama was dark but only 1/4 African American. The rest was Arabic.

If Hahvad had examined his background, he would never have got in.

Any association with the man-child will always end up as a let-down in the playground. If you can’t forward “his” agenda or “him” personally you will be publicly thrown to the wolves. After the state run media quips over this, you will be back in the fold. Small time tyrants serve in hopes of becoming, big time tyrants. The Constitution is the only remedy to cure this current cancer.

The Chicago way, Obama knows no other way of doing business. It is baffling anyway because Paterson most likely wouldn’t have won in a primary, the way he is polling in N.Y. I suppose it will save Cuomo a lot of money on the primary fight which he’ll need to take on Rudy.
Hope Rudy takes these mobsters out like he did when he was a U.S. Attorney.

So this is the nonsense our leaders are focused on when we have this http://www.dailyjobcuts.com going on all over.

    nice work guys!

It is all nonsense. When serving the public means, not your face in the trough, then the public has prevailed. Educated voters makes for educated representation. Current trends and whats vogue leads to what we are experiencing now.
How Hollywood! Politicians and parties have all become blurred, especially when both ends play against the middle to get re-elected.
I’ve canned the (repubs) for “Conservative Eyes Only” ,Thank you!
Oh, and thats where the money goes too!!!

Obama’s wrote some things to the effect, that his fellow extremist organizer, a former gangbanger turned muslim, explained to Obama that just as the Italians had a mafia to pay visits to stores, that the organizers had their own ways to pay visits to a store, when they caught word that a black person wasn’t treated right at some store. He told Obama that as people moved to the suburbans to get away from the crime, they were able to buy stores and buildings cheap, but that when the people would be forced to move back to the city, that the property would end up a goldmine for the blacks. So, it’s no surprise that Obama is doing things that hurt the rural area states. Kind of makes me think of that town in California, Oak(blank), going around smashing windows, and all. That town where the muslim lord has all those wifes and children on welfare, etc.

I can’t imagine Patterson having to deal with a thug like Obama and not be able to see. I pray for his safety.
