Obama Drops His Name Into the Other Presidential Biographies

Seth Mandel | 05.15.2012

… The Heritage Foundation’s Rory Cooper tweeted that Obama had casually dropped his own name into Ronald Reagan’s official biography on www.whitehouse.gov, claiming credit for taking up the mantle of Reagan’s tax reform advocacy with his “Buffett Rule” gimmick…

By the way, the White House website is a taxpayer-funded website that is supposed to be non-partisan.

[I]it turns out Obama has added bullet points bragging about his own accomplishments to the biographical sketches of every single U.S. president since Calvin Coolidge (except, for some reason, Gerald Ford). Here are a few examples:

* On Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people. President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.

Isn’t it wonderful how Obama has so many people spamming the internet 24/7 for his campaign? Isn’t that quite an accomplishment?

* In a 1946 letter to the National Urban League, President Truman wrote that the government has “an obligation to see that the civil rights of every citizen are fully and equally protected.” He ended racial segregation in civil service and the armed forces in 1948. Today the Obama administration continues to strive toward upholding the civil rights of its citizens, repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, allowing people of all sexual orientations to serve openly in our armed forces.

Isn’t this comparison odious to the people who fought for civil rights for blacks?

Still, we are a little amazed the White House didn’t put in a mention of Truman dropping the bomb on Hiroshima so they could point out Obama’s similar ‘gutsy call’ to kill Osama Bin Laden.

* President Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare signed [sic] into law in 1965—providing millions of elderly healthcare stability. President Obama’s historic health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, strengthens Medicare, offers eligible seniors a range of preventive services with no cost-sharing, and provides discounts on drugs when in the coverage gap known as the “donut hole.”

Obama-Care also strips $500 billion dollars from Medicare’s budget and guts the wildly popular Medicare Advantage plan. And Obama has done nothing to address Medicare’s crushing shortfalls. Although he has mocked everyone else’s plans. (Cf. Paul Ryan.)

* On August 14, 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. Today the Obama administration continues to protect seniors and ensure Social Security will be there for future generations.

Mr. Obama has ‘protected’ Social Security by cutting the payroll (FICA) tax for employees, which is the only funding source for Social Security. And, once again, he has done nothing to address its problems. In fact, he has done the opposite, by attacking anyone who tries to reform it. (Cf. Paul Ryan.)

* In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule

Actually, President Reagan cut the capital gains tax to 20%, which was its lowest level since the Hoover administration. He was later forced by Congress to raise the level up to 28%.

But why let any of these piddling details get in the way of the celebration of our historic President?

When, in his youth George Washington chopped down the cherry tree, he told his father “I cannot tell a lie, I did it.” Today, President Obama makes it clear with every word in every speech that Washington’s legacy of truth is finally dead, and that he is pathologically incapable of telling the truth. This is the change we’ve been waiting for?

First thing that comes to mind is a Simpsons episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIL8RM_IWNY&feature=related

Bart parading about the house, beating on a pot with a wooden spoon yelling “I am so great”. The obvious parallel is pretty scary and not just a little bit of overcompensation.

The tarp has been coming off of this guy for some time with the only revelation being that it seems to take some a dreadfully long time to see the obvious. Most of us here at S&L knew this from the beginning but is it because we’re quick to judge or just better judges of character? You decide.

Obama began his political career as a liar and a lie and I guess you can stretch out that lie and lying for some time until the truth starts to trickle in, then comes in as a full flood. The only way to counter it is to yell louder than the opposition is talking. Over at another site, the point has been made as to the recycled 1960’s radical arguments about the “war on women”, “the gay issue” and on and on. They think that the old, tired complaints still have the durability of a marathon athlete when they are really ready for the seniors’ home and are actually on barely-functioning life-support, thanks in no small part to the Obama-care gift that keeps on giving.

So picture, not Bart Simpson, but Barack Hussein Obama, wearing a pot on his head, running around capital hill, banging on another pot yelling at the top of his lungs, “I am so great!” and you’ll see the manchild as he truly is.

We’ll know he knows he’s lost when he goes and sulks privately and/or, comes out with screaming and yelling at his very own supporters for their failure to bring him to re-election. Either of those two things will be truly wonderful.

The first hint I had the guy was a fraud, is when he wanted to be president. These days, anyone who wants into the sewer so badly, and will do anything to stay there, probably has a mental disorder. (hello term-limits!)

I really like Newt, but he is like the Clintons. He wants in the game, wants to be in the spotlight, will flip-flop on anything that needs flip-flopping, will suffer daily lies and abuse from the media just to sniff power.

Either these people have a spine of steel to serve their country, or are soul-less psychopaths who should be locked up.

Rusty, you sum it up as best as anybody. As an old man, I’ll get it done quicker. I can’t wait till this “lump” will pass.
Quicker not better. This administration should only see, the swirl-action of any properly functioning toilet.
    Hat-tip.

I sort of picture the movie forest gump where they insert
tom hanks image into historical footage of jfk, lbj, etc.
