Obama Wants To Hire A New ‘Twitterer’

From the Wall Street Journal:

Obama Is Hiring a Twitterer

Calling all job-seekers: President Barack Obama is looking for an official Twitterer.

The Democratic National Committee’s “social networks manager” job description says the position entails maintaining the President’s accounts on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.

Mia Cambronero, who currently holds the job, “will be stepping down from my infamous role as ‘Barack Obama’s twitterer,’” she said in an email message posted to a listserv. “We’re looking for someone who is available to start immediately.”

Even she considers this an “infamous role”?

And why is Ms. Cambronero stepping down? Have the scales fallen from her eyes? Indeed, it sounds like she didn’t even give notice.

Perhaps she got a job offer from a news network.

The new hire will work closely with the rest of the new media department to execute grassroots campaigns to advance the President’s agenda for change, the listing says. Among the qualifications sought: “Ready to work hard; this isn’t a 9-5 sort of job.”

Nothing says real “grassroots” like a paid full time position. Just ask the father of astroturfing, David Axelrod.

Still, you have to ask, why do we have a mainstream media?

Obama’s team used the Internet, email, text messaging and social-media tools throughout his candidacy. He now has more than three million followers on Twitter and nearly 7.5 million Facebook fans.

Or, rather, Ms. Cambronero has 10.5 million ‘fans.’

Speaking of which, just imagine how foolish those 10.5 million fans must feel to find out that they have been hanging on the every word of some young, probably minimum wage hireling.

However, it is quite telling that Mr. Obama hired a girl to sound like him.

In November, during his trip to China, however, he admitted that he doesn’t use Twitter, saying he’s too clumsy to type onto his phone.

You would think, being a bit of a twit such an athlete, that it would come natural to him.

Which begs the question: How many layers of management are required to approve every post or Facebook status update purported to come from the Commander in Chief?

We doubt that much actual thought goes into these ‘tweets.’

After all, they are just going out to a bunch of “effin’ retards.”

Ms. Cambronero and the DNC did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

Will you be applying?

When you think about it, this really could be a great job for a right-minded person.

For anyone interested, the application page can be found here. (Weirdly, they don’t say anything about being open to the “mentally disabled.”)

Still, it’s one job that Mr. Obama can point to as having created or saved.

    (/Sarc)

This is the whole extent of his jobs program, but he can now claim he is working toward it.Can’t wait to see how he spins the number “1” in the “number of jobs” he’s provided when they fill out that form they require from others.

Seems they have already covered that territory.

If you want a good laugh, check out this blog page: http://www.alhankeser.com/bara.....-tweeting/.

It’s a bunch of Obama fans actually worrying he might stop tweeting them after his inauguration.

It’s so funny, I almost wish for mandatory sterilizations.

OMG. Hilarious . . . but so pathetic.

What will posterity consider to be the great legacy of the Obama era?

Perhaps it will represent the high water mark of the American Idiocracy?

      Frankly Scarlet, I don’t give a twit!
