Obama: King Would Have Supported Obama-Care

From the CBS DC affiliate, WNEW:

Obama: MLK Would Have Backed ‘Obamacare’

August 27, 2013

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Would Martin Luther King Jr. support “Obamacare?” The president believes so.

Appearing on the Tom Joyner Morning Show Tuesday, President Barack Obama says the iconic civil rights leader would have backed the Affordable Care Act.

“Oh, he would like that … because I think he understood that health care, health security is not a privilege; it’s something that in a country as wealthy as ours, everybody should have access to,” Obama explained…

The comments come after Obama met Monday with leaders of faith organizations and civil rights activists at the White House to discuss the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

They discussed how current issues of voting rights, education, unemployment and health care are linked to the 1960s fight for civil rights and equality…

As far as we know the only ‘civil rights’ we currently have are the right to vote, the right to own property, the right to free speech, and association and assembly, and the right to bear arms. Now tell us, which of those civil rights are currently denied, and by whom?

We would contend that it is the left that is doing its best to take away our civil rights. By stuffing the ballot boxes, the misuse of eminent domain and high taxes, and the laws about hate speech, by limiting our freedom of association, and by trying to take away our guns.

Meanwhile, we have this from the radical left Village Voice (of all places):

Martin Luther King’s Niece Is Suing To Block Obamacare

By Raillan Brooks | August 27, 2013

Dr. Alveda King, niece of the famed Martin Luther King, Jr., is looking to block parts of the Affordable Care Act. As part of the Staten Island-based outreach organization Priests for Life, King claims that the clauses mandating health insurers cover free contraception have "racist and eugenic roots."

Dr. King is right, you know. As any biography of Margaret Sanger will tell you. Indeed, one of the first prototypes for Planned Parenthood was set up in Harlem in 1929.

"Efforts to control the population always target minority and lower-income groups. We will not sit still and allow this to happen," says King in an August 19 statement…

But the Village Voice immediately reverts to type, and even goes on to say:

[T]he lawsuit has become a cause celebre for likes of Minnesota’s Abominable Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann, who appeared in a Priests for Life webcast, saying, "Who would have ever thought that in this enlightened day of 2013 that we would be forced to file a lawsuit simply to practice our sincerely held religious beliefs?"

So where is the "Abominable" Ms. Bachmann wrong?

What a crock of shiite. Reverend King would never attach his name to this socialist
mandate. King was a visionary whereas dingleBarry is about……dingleBarry.
