Obama Lies About His I-Pod Knowledge

From the Agence France-Presse:

Obama bemoans ‘diversions’ of IPod, Xbox era

(AFP) – May 9, 2010

HAMPTON, Virginia — US President Barack Obama lamented Sunday that in the iPad and Xbox era, information had become a diversion that was imposing new strains on democracy, in his latest critique of modern media.

Obama, who often chides journalists and cable news outlets for obsessing with political horse race coverage rather than serious issues, told a class of graduating university students that education was the key to progress.

"You’re coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don’t always rank all that high on the truth meter," Obama said at Hampton University, Virginia.

"With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations, — none of which I know how to work — information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation," Obama said.

He bemoaned the fact that "some of the craziest claims can quickly claim traction," in the clamor of certain blogs and talk radio outlets.

"All of this is not only putting new pressures on you, it is putting new pressures on our country and on our democracy."

Wasn’t Mr. Obama going to be our first ‘technologically advanced’ President? Didn’t he promise he was going to provide free internet and computers for all?

And, after all, don’t most people believe that the more information our citizens have, the better off we are as a Democracy? Well, it turns out that they must all be mistaken. Mr. Obama has pronounced.

Still, if it weren’t for all those "distractions" – like the internet – people wouldn’t be able to track Mr. Obama’s lies so easily.

Barack Obama: ‘I Still Have Michael Jackson On My iPod’

He speaks about the King of Pop…

July 03, 2009 by Jason Gregory

US president Barack Obama has revealed he still has all of Michael Jackson’s music on his iPod.

Obama, whose MP3 player is also known to include hits by Stevie Wonder and Jay-Z, said Jackson "will go down in history as one of our greatest entertainers”.

The president spoke about the King of Pop, who died on June 25, during an interview at the White House yesterday.

He said Jackson had been given “extraordinary gifts” and bought “great joy” to his fans.

But Obama also acknowledged that the star’s “brilliance as a performer also was paired with a tragic and, in many ways, sad personal life”.

Until now, the president’s thoughts on Jackson’s sudden death had only been conveyed by a White House spokesman.

When asked why he had failed to speak sooner, Obama told the Associated Press that he wasn’t aware that he had caused any offence.

"I know a lot of people in the black community," he said. "I haven’t heard that."

Barack Obama’s iPod: Bob Dylan, Yo-Yo Ma, Sheryl Crow, Jay-Z

ANN SANNER | June 25, 2008

WASHINGTON — Bob Dylan. Yo-Yo Ma. Sheryl Crow. Jay-Z. These aren’t musical acts in a summer concert series: They’re artists featured on Barack Obama’s iPod.

"I have pretty eclectic tastes," the Democratic presidential contender said in an interview to be published in Friday’s issue of Rolling Stone.

Growing up in the ’70s, Obama said, he listened to the Rolling Stones, Elton John and Earth, Wind & Fire. Stevie Wonder is his musical hero from the era. The Stones’ "Gimme Shelter" tops his favorites from the band.

The Illinois senator’s playlist contains these musicians, along with about 30 songs from Dylan and the singer’s "Blood on the Tracks" album. Jazz legends Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Charlie Parker are also in the mix.

"Actually, one of my favorites during the political season is ‘Maggie’s Farm,’" Obama said of one of Dylan’s tracks. "It speaks to me as I listen to some of the political rhetoric." …

Remember how he cried when they tried to take away his Blackberry?

Was he lying then or is he lying now? Both.

If he says it, it’s a lie.

It’s clear that he doesn’t have Michael Jackson on it, but that he does have an I-pod.

Since he said them both, they are both lies. He was pandering to Michael Jackson fans then and he is lying now by pretending that he doesn’t have every expensive toy in Santa’s bag.

    1 + 1 = 2

    Totally predictable.

      GOOGLE: “what’s on Obama’s ipod?”

Look at all the media outlets that reported his ‘tech-savvy’ ipod choices.

It appears that now the campaign is over, all those omnipresent ‘scoops’ about Obama were all marketing lies. ~Oi………people are so easily manipulated.

    • ptat says:

“Lying then or now?”–I love that, it summarizes who this man is so well, especially when the answer is ALWAYS “both”! That is the essence of Barack Hussein Obama.

  2. BigOil says:

Interesting that Barry is decrying the value of information to college graduates – that have supposedly spent at least 4 years absorbing information and learing how to evaluate it in a critical manner. Then again, never having seen Barry’s college transcripts, who knows if he learned anything besides Marxist ideology.

I guess we rubes jus caint understands what is the truth – only Hawwwvard law grads can discern the complexities of the world. What a condescending jerk.

  3. GetBackJack says:

It’s not music he has on the thing.

His iPod has replaced what we used to call handlers.

Plug in the earbuds, tap Play … get his subliminal instructions.

I’m very comfortable with that analysis.

Probably one tune on it … Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

(some of you will get that)

    • Right of the People says:

The only song on his iPod is the Soviet Army Men’s Chorus singing the Internationale.

According to my Websters’: university: an institution of higher learning.
learning: to become informed of or acquainted with.
He proclaims that the media age has all kinds of content and all kinds of arguments insinuating that this is “bad”.
How could one claim the value of “higher education” if one is not presented with arguments and then use one’s “learning” to make judgments. O blah blah just wants to cut to the chase and make those decisions for the great unwashed , which, evidently includes the graduates of the university system in the U.S.
The sickening part is that he wasn’t boo’d off the stage.

  5. Mithrandir says:

The Ministry of Information has declared that too much information is bad. And OBAMA’S marketing people advertised in X-BOX games! -oh that hypocrite!

This REGIME, I tell ya, they just can’t stand anyone disagreeing with them. I always reverse their argument on them to see if they are consistent, would Obama say, “You liberals need to get off Comedy Central, and liberal cable news shows and expose yourself to other ideas!” ~how would that be received? Not too well would it!

The whole ipod thing, it is part of the show. It’s to make him look like he is young & fresh, and up to date on things. McCain is old and still using a pica typewriter like Andy Rooney. His ipod songs are just invented by his marketing wing, to make him look diverse and cultured.

  6. BobonStatenIsland says:

Didn’t Obama give an iPod as a gift to the Queen of England? Rush even joked that it was probably filled with all his speeches (as I picture his own iPod is full of his speeches). Being a teenager in Hawaii, I would imagine he did listen to the standard Rock and Roll of the time. He can probably name as many “Black” artists and songs from that era as he can players on the White Sox. Notice they claim he can actually name a Rolling Stones’ song but they say Stevie Wonder is his “musical hero”. Only Rolling Stone Magazine would want Obama’s White Half to show though. I wouldn’t be surprised if they fabricated the entire interview. I can picture the editors of Rolling Stone asking him “But what BLACK artists did you listen to? Earth, Wind & Fire? Stevie Wonder?”… “Uhhh…Sure.”

  7. mr_bill says:

    Dear Barry,
The only person who enjoys listening to you talk is you. Stop.

    Thank you,
    Dissident mr_bill

  8. wardmama4 says:

I guess when he was campaigning – he thought he could win the youth vote (does no one in a campaign ever view the stats from previous elections – that the ‘rock the vote’ ‘vote or die’ campaigns sign up millions (I thought that we had smaller generations not larger ones) but that they go to the polls in pathetically low percentages? But now that the ‘new’ media and people getting instant access to what is really in the bowels of Obamacare, C(r)ap & Trade(off) and of course Shamnesty – he’s agin it – how two faced in the seat of higher education to diss – getting more information faster.

I agree – I am surprised that he wasn’t booed off the stage – but I am sure that his ‘choice’ of a place to make the speech at – was very carefully hand picked – btw – what ‘honorary’ degree did The One get presented for the vacuous and shallow honor of speaking at this commencement?

    • Right of the People says:

I’m beginning to think all of his degrees are honorary, that’s why his skool rekords are all sealed.

  9. canary says:

Obama forgot Bob Marley, but his WH buddy Jay Z is the filthiest language that should save any threat Obama may have towards the 1st amendment, since it’s about the black revolution destroying all the whites.
Recently, 1 of Micheal Jackson’s one long doctor’s is insisting Micheal Jackson was gay and it was no secret. He needs to watch out for Micheal Jackson’s converted to muslim brother (the one that showers with all his white so called wives) who provided his muslim muscle body guards who surrounded MJ everywhere he went, until of course MJ came back from Middle-East and during the making of video with big insurance policy on him, didn’t need the guards.
