Yeah, it's no big surprise...more broken promises. Obama supporters have shown stupidity and thus he is at the helm. And thanks to that, I am soon going to be out of a job.

The way things are going...might not have loins very soon. Hope and change are dead and I'm afraid that the American Dream is in the morgue too. What are our children going to have to look forward to? I am seriously considering a move to Canada...trouble is with the economy in the toilet, my house isn't worth crap now and I can't afford to go.

Killer analysis from Laura Hollis:

"The policies Obama is espousing have been thoroughly discredited for decades, and he knows it. So there is only one logical explanation: he doesn’t want a real stimulus.

Why not?

In a word, power. Because for a collectivist, collective misery is not just a wet dream, it’s an orgy. An economic crisis creates the climate that enables Obama to achieve his fondest desire: government takeover of the economy. This is the Marxist/socialist aim, and has been since its inception."

I've done lists like the following myself, but her's is a good one:

"there is ample evidence of Obama’s inclinations:

1.        The African father that abandoned Obama and his mother was a Communist;
2.       Obama’s childhood mentor was rabid America-hater, and Communist pervert Frank Marshall Davis;
3.       Obama himself has admitted that in college he sought out the most left-wing comrades he could find to associate with;
4.       For 20 years, he attended a church whose pastor preached a philosophy that was not only racist, but also steeped in Marxism;
5. Obama brags about his “community organizer” experience in the mode of Saul Alinsky, whose book , “Rules for Radicals” is just another Marxist text for a “people’s revolution” from within the system.
6. His election was – and continues to be celebrated by Communists around the globe. (Hey, if they think he’s one of them, who are we to argue?)
7. In addition to the federalization of financial institutions, Obama has already set CEO salaries by fiat, and is pushing for control over the census, and the media (that is, that part of the media that doesn’t lick his feet like a lapdog). "

This isn't news to any of us, but she says it well........"not just a wet dream, it's an orgy"

One in ten doctors 'may not have good English'
05 February 2007
One in 10 doctors allowed to practise in Britain cannot speak good enough English, it has been claimed.
A total of 23,000 medics from Europe are working here without a basic grasp of the language, according to influential health regulators. They are calling for a change to European law to ensure all doctors arriving from the continent undergo language tests.
It comes as a coroner also urged the Government to change the law on foreign doctors being allowed to practise in the UK without taking English tests, following the death of a French GP?s patient.
Westminster Coroner Dr Paul Knapman said he would write to Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt after hearing how doctor Bernard Delvigne?s language difficulties led to delays in an ambulance arriving at his surgery in Wimpole Street, central London, following an emergency.

Hotshot greens caught wasting home heat
A survey of the homes of top environmentalists has found they leak energy
Steven Swinford and Jonathan Leake
THEY may shout their green credentials from the rooftops, but some of Britain’s most prominent environmental champions are living in homes that produce up to half a ton of excess carbon dioxide a year.
An audit of properties, measuring heat loss, has revealed that Chris Martin, the pop star, Boris Johnson, the mayor of London, and Sir David Attenborough, the broadcaster, are among those who reside in homes that are “leaking” energy. Some lack even the most basic energy saving measures such as cavity wall insulation and double glazing.
Thermal images of the residences of 10 high-profile green campaigners found that their heat loss was either worse or no better than that found in the average family home.

@Catherine  -- Scary!

On the one hand, I hope they let us "opt out" of socialized medicine and pay for what we want, if we can. But on the other hand, if they do, those who force this on us will opt out themselves. You can bet Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will never be waiting hours for a doctor in a drab room with plastic chairs at the government health clinic while silently suffering, yet happy to "share the pain" with the rest of us.

Why should the President be held to his promises, when the entire House unanimously voted to delay a vote on the "stimulus" bill until 48 hours after it was electronically available and then turned around and voted on it anyway?

No one is going to hold them accountable anyway, so why even pretend to care about telling the truth?

NHS maternity units forced to close
Sunday, February 8 2009-02-16
Ap
Almost half of NHS maternity units closed their doors to new admissions at least once in the last year, figures show.
Data obtained by the Conservatives under the Freedom of Information Act showed that many health trusts across England had been forced to shut because they were full or had too few staff.
One unit closed itself to new admissions for 48 hours, while many others closed for more than 10 hours at a time.
According to the data, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in Kent had 97 temporary closures in 2008, while Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust in Hertfordshire had 91.
A total of 104 out of 148 NHS Trusts that provide maternity services responded to the request from the Conservatives - a response rate of 70%.
An analysis of the data showed that 50 trusts (48%) that responded had closed their maternity unit or had been forced to divert women to another site.

And then there is.

Hewitt to push ahead with NHS maternity cuts

Plans to slash the number of NHS hospitals offering full maternity services were finally being unveiled by the Government today.

New NHS computer system slammed
An NHS hospital boss and his staff have described the new computerised medical records system as "incredibly disappointing".
Andrew Way, chief executive of Hampstead's Royal Free Hospital in north west London, said it had cost his trust an extra £10 million and meant fewer patients could be seen. The Royal Free began trialling the e-records system last summer.
The National Programme for IT (NPfIT) aims to create a centralised medical records system for 50 million patients in England at a cost of more than £12 billion.
The Government believes this will benefit patient care and could prove vital in an emergency.
Mr Way said: "I think it is very disappointing that the work we had to do as a trust has caused our staff so much heartache and hard work.
"Many of the medical staff are incredibly disappointed with what we have got.
"I have personally apologised for the decision to implement the system before we were really clear about what we were going to receive. I had been led to believe it would all work."

Actually, the real problem is those 35-40% of citizens who pay no taxes but get to vote. That group will always cast their votes for whoever promises them more government hand-outs (at the cost of the actual tax payers, of course), this s the only criterion they have to judge the candidates.

So I would say that "representation without taxation" is the true root of the mess we are in. And it actually upsets me more that anything else about this country.

You do not pay taxes? You do not get to vote, period. That would reshape the political scene in no time at all.

Mr Weasel, I'll add something to the need to be in the GOP to vote in a primary GOP race, you need to have been in the GOP for a number of years. I can see the slimey acorn scumbags joining the GOP temporarily so they can vote for the biggest loser RINO, then sitting back and watching the carnage as before. Got to play at their level, the gutter.

If there is some reason, like you have in Virginia, that you can't hold a closed primary, then make the primary non-binding and hold a caucus or convention. Bottom line - the people willing to be in the GOP should pick the GOP nominee, ditto for the dems - although if they want us to help pick their candidates for them, that is there business. And if the independents don't like it, then join a party before the primaries start! You can always re-register afterwards if it means that much to you.

I do not believe these are 7 broken promises. Based on the King Barack's track record, I'd say it amounts to 7 more bald-faced lies.

I know that compared to the Generational Theft Act, this is mino, trivial and basically moot but The One (tm) also has another promise he's broken - to get his daughters a dog. Promised - win or lose they'd have one by Jan. . .

And a person with values has to wonder - if a man won't keep his promise to his daughters (or have the spine to say, NO if he has no intention) - why ever would anyone ever think he'd keep any other promise, to anyone?

'Words. They're just words.'

I think 51% of America should have really thought long and hard about that utterance of The One (tm) perhaps we wouldn't be where we are now.

For some reason the Obamas jetting off to Chicago for a long weekend in the middle of a "crisis" reminds me of McCain suspending his campaign.
