Obama Ordered Raid Kills 14 In Pakistan

From a strangely complacent Associated Press:

Pakistani tribesmen pray along a street following a demonstration near the federal parliament in Islamabad, Pakistan, Friday, Jan. 23, 2009. Hundreds of protesters Friday demanded an end to Pakistan military operations and U.S. missile attacks against Taliban militants in lawless areas bordering Afghanistan.

Suspected US missile strikes kill 14 in Pakistan

By MUNIR AHMAD, Associated Press Writer

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Two suspected U.S missile attacks killed 14 people Friday in Pakistan just east of the Afghan border, security officials said, the first such strikes since the inauguration of President Barack Obama.

At least five victims were identified as foreign militants, an intelligence officer said…

Pakistan’s pro-U.S. leaders had expressed hope Obama would halt the attacks, which have reportedly killed several top al-Qaida operatives but triggered anger at the government by nationalist and Muslim critics

The first attack Friday took place in the village of Zharki in North Waziristan, when a single drone fired three missiles in the space of 10 minutes, the security officials said.

The missiles destroyed two buildings, killing 10 people, at least five of whom were foreign militants, the officials said on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Hours later, a second missile struck a house in South Waziristan, killing four people, they said, giving no more details…

Where was their trial?

And when did we declare war on Pakistan?

Lest we forget, as we have previously noted, back in August of 2007 Mr. Obama was singing a slightly different tune.

From Fox News and the Associated Press:

Obama: U.S. Troops in Afghanistan Must Do More Than Kill Civilians

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

HANOVER, N.H. — Presidential hopeful Barack Obama was warned by a friendly voter Monday to avoid public spats with his Democratic rivals — but remarks he made later could add fuel to the criticism against him…

Asked whether he would move U.S. troops out of Iraq to better fight terrorism elsewhere, he brought up Afghanistan and said, “We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there.” …

But that was then, and this is now.

“everything old is “new” again!” la la laaa la la laaa!

Lmao….this is going to be great theater, watching the press have to eat rotten eggs from their intricately created and coddled Golden Goose!

It’s one thing to campaign, it is quite another to lead. He was excellent at the former, and totally inept at the latter. The MSM will have another bird to dine on. Crow.

    • sheehanjihad says:

Oh yeah, notice the picture. In our prison system, this would be known as a “buffet” for the inmates.

    • oldswimcoach says:

Actually, the guys in Camp Bucca refered to it as “corn on the cob”, but the prisoners all wore one color to complete the picture.

As we are more succesful in Afghanistan and seal the borders better, I suspect you will see more and more unrest in this area of Pakistan. I actually think it’s a good sign that B. Hussien is continuing with the attacks, but these may just be previously planned strikes that were executed on previous orders/authorizations. Lets give him a few weeks – ’cause odds are he’s gonna “go wobbly” on us.

Well, I imagine the left and Bambi lovers will blame the “republican military machine” for the killings and distance themselves from Bambi having anything to do with it.

I predict a photo-op / Photoshop / press release where Bambi sputters 38 cliches about “innocents, precision, diplomacy, knee high socks, change, a new era etc” while claiming both a hawk and dove stance.

The Pakistani’s, of course will see the weakness and just do as they like.

I fear this idiots indecisions 10 times more than his decisions. There is an old saying “indecision cost more time and money than even a bad decision”

  5. imnewatthis says:

How come in this article they focussed on foreign militants killed, whereas under Bush it would have mentioned how many women and children or “civilians” were killed?

    • Dangerous says:

They phrased it this way so that, if Obama can’t blame the “republican war machine” spinning down as the culprit, he can at least say that he’s better in his first week than President Bush was in 8 years.

  6. clifcrds says:

Just got done watching the press briefing by Obama Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. When asked about this by the press he said he was not going to comment on it with what I percieved as a “this is totally none of your business” attitude. His blunt answer to the press concerning this serious matter totally stunned the press!

And this wan’t the only issue in which he (as Gibbs himself refered to as “punting on”) blew off the press. The whole conference was filled with “non answers”.

What a twist of irony to see NBC’s David Gregory sitting there totally frustrated because the Press Secretary of the sitting president that the drive by media was totally in love with and helped elect would not answer even basic economic questions.

I think the main stream media is just now waking up to the fact that like in all other socialist tin horn dictatorships the press is just another usefull idiot to the state.

Who was that cowboy everybody was complaining about a few days ago?

Pakistan is a nuclear power….and a highly unstable one filled with a hundred millioin maniacs.

    Give peace a chance.

Just Talk to these people dont bomb them..

All this will do is make them hate us more.

  9. proreason says:

Already we have spent billions and our economy is in tatters. Where is his authorization? Why hasn’t he consulted with the U.N. and the Europeans? Why were the militants executed without a trial? How many civilians are already dead? How many more Americans have to die so he can extract his revenge on the women of the country who refused to liase with him when he visited 20 years ago.

When will congress act to end this nightmare.

    • Colonel1961 says:

Quagmire! UN approval!! You nailed it PR. The silence is deafening…

We must begin impeachment proceedings immediately against BHO for this unjust, baby-killing war!

    • jobeth says:

      Here! Here!

We just HAVE to learn to “talk” to them via the UN.

They would all just lay down their arms and sit around our campfire to sing kum by ah! I just know it.

Ah, I feel so good now….

  10. BillK says:

Better yet, raids into Pakistan are of course an escalation.

But I’m sure Obama will claim the military did this without his knowledge or some other equally prescient B.S.

  11. Liberals Demise says:

Day 3 of the seige on America and the Houseboy whacks some people on the other side of the world. “Way to go Barry! Nicely done my boy! Day 3 and you are “Hands Wet!!”

Took Bush 9 months to go “Hands Wet”.
    3 days…..whew, GET SOME!!

  12. bill says:

It’s Obama’s war on terror now. Any hits on USA interests are all his …

  13. TickTock says:

To all you deluded morons that voted this mess in: Is Ol’ Bamy’ meeting your expectations?

Welcome to ObamaLand where there ain’t no Vote and there ain’t no Hope…

And this guy is just getting started… It won’t be long until until his pet rats are jumping ship.

  14. Confucius says:

To be fair, Obama did promise to attack Pakistan some months ago.

  15. TickTock says:

Yes he did, Confucius, and MSM turned themselves inside out trying to explain O’Bamy’s “nuanced” utterance. Dear Leader himself tried to dig his way out of his stupid blunder… and now this.

    Like O’Bamy said, “I won”.

Gotta’ gin up a Big War now in order to reinstate the draft… that’s the classic dem solution to high unemployment and inflation… No white construction workers? I wonder which race will be drafted?

Lies and corruption, smoke and mirrors, secrecy and disinformation…

  16. pinandpuller says:

I figured that innocent fetuses would be the first to die after 1/20-who knew?

  17. TickTock says:

Yep, more babies will die, a lot more. And our tax dollars are going to fund the murders world-wide through O’Bamy’s reinstatement of universal abortion. That alone is enough to convince me to stop filing my taxes.

What’s the worst that could happen, an appointment to O’ Bamy’s cabinet?

  18. proreason says:

Still contemplating the stupidity of doing anything to de-stabalize Pakistan.

It’s the most dangerous and volitile country in the world.
    It’s nuclear.
It’s constantly in conflicts with India, which is also nuclear.
It’s a cesspool of radicalism Islam, ready to explode
Our ally Mushareff (ally at the point of a gun) is no longer in power. His replacements are unknown quantities.
Large portions of the Pakistani military are sympathetic to radical Islam.
Although Pakistan has hidden Osama for years, Osama is now powerless.

Yet, the Moron Obamy chooses to make his statement to the world by bombing within Pakistan’s sovereign territory. Of all the places in the world.

It’s almost as if he WANTS to de-stabalize the country most likely to set the world on fire.
