I just can’t agree with the American Lung Association’s findings, along with many other’s findings when it comes to global warming.

I guess this means that the “Apology Tour ‘09″ is officially over. No more AF1 trips across the pond for instant vacations. No more quickie date nights to NYC and pizza hops to St. Louis.

Now if he would stop dressing up street people in lab coats for photo-ops.

Obama wants to turn government green
The President orders federal agencies to set high goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, cut energy use, save water and recycle more.

Urging the government to “lead by example,” President Obama ordered federal agencies on Monday to set ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, cut energy use, save water and recycle more.

The order calls for a 30% cut in vehicle fuel use by 2020, a 50% recycling increase by 2015 and the implementation of high-efficiency building codes.

It also instructs agencies to set reduction goals within 90 days for the heat-trapping gases scientists blame for global warming…

The federal government, which operates 600,000 fleet vehicles, occupies 500,000 buildings and employs 1.8 million workers in civilian jobs, is the nation’s largest energy user.

White House officials said the initiative, which is detailed in an executive order and does not require congressional approval, would yield significant energy and environmental benefits and — because of Washington’s huge role as a consumer — encourage added savings throughout the economy…

No cost estimates were provided, but officials said initial costs — mainly to retrofit buildings to make them more energy efficient — would be largely covered from the stimulus program…

Note the bolded “lead by example,” which no doubt does not include the White House and jetting here and there for dates, pizza chefs and lobbying for special events halfway around the globe. Not to mention the White House itself being hot enough to grow orchids in January and February because TOTUS is “used to Hawaiian weather.” He’s from Hawaii when it’s convenient, and a son of Chicago when it’s convenient.
