Obama Plans Exec Orders – Housing, Gays, Nukes

From a cheering Washington Post:

Obama weighing executive actions on housing, gays and other issues

By Zachary A. Goldfarb | February 10, 2013

President Obama is considering a series of new executive actions aimed at working around a recalcitrant Congress, including policies that could allow struggling homeowners to refinance their mortgages,

More redistribution.

provide new protections for gays and lesbians,

What ‘protections’ don’t they have now?

make buildings more energy-efficient

Another gift to the SEIU and other union contractors.

and toughen regulations for coal-fired power plants, according to people outside the White House involved in discussions on the issues…

Another gift to the ‘environmentalists,’ who want to finish off our economy.

These and other potential actions suggest that Obama is likely to rely heavily on executive powers to set domestic policy in his second term. One White House official said that while the president does not see the actions as substitutes for more substantial legislation, he also wants to move forward on top priorities…

After all his tremendous victory at the ballot box gave him a mandate to be king. In a nutshell, Obama is planning to run amuck.

Obama already has used his executive powers to make refinancing easier for people with loans backed by government-financed mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. But the new plan could extend the opportunity to people who are underwater on their privately backed mortgages, which have not been eligible for the same relief…

That is, Obama is going to (once again) force private banks to give money to his constituents.

Michael A. Stegman, a senior Treasury Department official, said late last month that the administration would “consider non-legislative means at our disposal to help responsible . . . homeowners access these low rates.” But he added, “the legislative route would be preferable.”

But he won’t let piddling laws stop him.

The White House is also reviewing whether the president should issue an executive order offering protections to gays and lesbians who work for government contractors…

Because right now they have ‘no protections’ whatsoever.

In trying to slow climate change, Obama is considering acting through the Environmental Protection Agency to issue new rules governing carbon emissions by existing power plants, according to three people familiar with White House discussions. The move would face fierce corporate opposition but is among the top goals of environmentalists…

And never mind that dozens of power plants have already been closed down thanks to the Obama administration and the EPA.

In the months ahead, some people close to the White House said Obama must weigh the prospect of making progress on his priorities with the risk that acting aggressively could hurt the chances for more substantial legislation on Capitol Hill…

Why does he need Congress for anything?

This is Obama’s idea of compromise. Of bipartisanship. And the news media cheers!

Meanwhile, here’s another coming executive order that the Washington Post, missed, via an approving New York Times:

Obama to Renew Drive for Cuts in Nuclear Arms

By DAVID E. SANGER | February 10, 2013

WASHINGTON — President Obama will use his State of the Union speech on Tuesday to reinvigorate one of his signature national security objectives — drastically reducing nuclear arsenals around the world — after securing agreement in recent months with the United States military that the American nuclear force can be cut in size by roughly a third…

That is actually an anti-national security objective. It obviously will make our country less safe.

Mr. Obama, administration officials say, is unlikely to discuss specific numbers in the address, but White House officials are looking at a cut that would take the arsenal of deployed weapons to just above 1,000. Currently there are about 1,700, and the new strategic arms reduction treaty with Russia that passed the Senate at the end of 2009 calls for a limit of roughly 1,550 by 2018…

As we noted back in February 2012, Obama wants to strip our deployed nuclear weapons down to 300. Which would be an 80 percent reduction.

(For the record, if we cut our nuclear weapons down to 300, Russia will have five times more, at 1,550. And, given their tradition of cheating on treaties, they probably have many times more. In fact, China already has more than 300 nuclear weapons. And, once again, probably a lot more than they admit to.But what is there to worry about?)

Still, we can’t say we weren’t warned. Lest we forget, Obama told Mr. Medvedev when he thought that he was ‘off mic’ that after he was re-elected he would be able to be more flexible. And here he is being more flexible.

But notice that Obama is never ‘more flexible’ with the Republicans. He is only flexible when it comes to further damaging our country.

But Mr. Obama, according to an official who was involved in the deliberations, “believes that we can make pretty radical reductions — and save a lot of money — without compromising American security in the second term. And the Joint Chiefs have signed off on that concept.” …

Just like the Politburo signs off on issues for Mr. Putin. (Only different, since Putin at least does put his country’s interests first.) Also, notice Obama’s sudden concern about ‘saving a lot of money.’

The big question is how to accomplish a reduction that Mr. Obama views as long overdue, considering that Republicans in the Senate opposed even the modest cuts in the new arms reduction treaty, called Start…

What a laugh. Of course he ‘can’t wait for Congress’ to destroy our nuclear arsenal. This too will be accomplished by executive order. And once these warheads are destroyed there will be no going back, no matter who is in the White House in 2016.

Welcome to Obama’s Post-Congressional, Post-Republican (with both a capital and small R), Post Constitutional America.

The History Channel’s “Caligula: 1400 Days of Terror”

If you have seen this episode, you will also see a lot of parallels to what we are experiencing today.

The sad part is, when you watch it, you will say to yourself, “By G*d! How much abuse must the body public endure before they have the nerve to fight back?” –As it turns out, A WHOOOOOOLE LOT.

So buckle in folks, there won’t be one iota of opposition to Obama from anyone, ever. Stop being shocked at his dictatorship, Congressional end-arounds, and outrageous abuses, because it happened, it’s happening now, and it will continue to happen until 2016 and beyond.
For every one thing you are shocked about, there are probably 10 more that went under the radar that you didn’t know about.
