Obama Plans To Go Around Dem Congress

From a cheering New York Times:

The president may focus on energy and the environment.

Obama Making Plans to Use Executive Power

By PETER BAKER

February 12, 2010

WASHINGTON — With much of his legislative agenda stalled in Congress, President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities.

Mr. Obama has not given up hope of progress on Capitol Hill, aides said, and has scheduled a session with Republican leaders on health care later this month. But in the aftermath of a special election in Massachusetts that cost Democrats unilateral control of the Senate, the White House is getting ready to act on its own in the face of partisan gridlock heading into the midterm campaign.

“We are reviewing a list of presidential executive orders and directives to get the job done across a front of issues,” said Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff

How did the Clinton lackey Paul Begala put it? “Stroke of the pen. Law of the Land. — Kinda cool!”

Apparently, Professor Senior Lecturer Obama never got around to the quiant concept of the ‘separation of powers.’

Mr. Obama has already decided to create a bipartisan budget commission under his own authority after Congress refused to do so. His administration has signaled that it plans to use its discretion to soften enforcement of the ban on openly gay men and lesbians serving in the military, even as Congress considers repealing the law. And the Environmental Protection Agency is moving forward with possible regulations on heat-trapping gases blamed for climate change, while a bill to cap such emissions languishes in the Senate…

And our elected representatives in Congress be damned. And the will of the people as clearly enunciated in poll after poll — be damned.

White House officials said the increased focus on executive authority reflected a natural evolution from the first year to the second year of any presidency.

“The challenges we had to address in 2009 ensured that the center of action would be in Congress,” said Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director. “In 2010, executive actions will also play a key role in advancing the agenda.”

Doesn’t this show once and for all just how truly radical Mr. Obama is?

He has to do an end around Congress to get what he wants, even though his own party has held super majorities in both houses for more than a year.

Lest we forget, even Nazi Germany had a legislature. But they were soon powerless in the face of an endless stream of executive orders which were presented to them as a fait accompli.

History may not repeat itself, but unbridled arrogance sure does.

By the way, notice the caption The Times has for their photograph at the top. We thought Mr. Obama was going to concentrate on saving and creating jobs?

Instead, it sounds like he is still determined to destroy them.

Yep…I’d say this pretty much sums Barry up.

    From psychiatricdisorders.com

    Symptoms of Narcissism
Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms stem from the narcissist’s self-absorption and over-exaggerated sense of self-worth. People with narcissistic personality disorder are quite willing to take advantage of, manipulate, or lie to others to achieve their own desires and gratification. When a narcissist values a person, it is only because that person has something to offer. Narcissism reduces other people to the status of servants or useful tools.

    Common symptoms include:

    * a lack of feeling, empathy, or concern for others
    * a willingness to take advantage of others
    * excessive feelings of self-importance
    * exaggerated personal achievements and abilities
    * an expectation to be seen as superior without cause
    * a fantasy or is preoccupation with power, wealth, beauty, personal abilities, or success
    * a demand for favorable treatment without appropriate reasons
    * an insistence on being the object of admiration and attention.

    Mark my words.

These fascists do not need to pass a single piece of legislation to complete their intentional desctruction of the United States.

Other than the ludicrous “stimulus bill”, they haven’t passed a single new bill of note.

I’m even coming around to the idea that the Moron probably wants the Republicans to win in 2010. His demonization of every group in the country has run its course. There aren’t any realistic demons left. The public has grown tired of the straw man ploy. He needs a new enemy and a big on if he wants 8 years instead of 3 more. A Republican Congress would provide it.

Did you think he was going to change his mind about destroying the white free-market constitutional republic because he lost a senate vote or two.

The more the country turns on the criminal cabal, the more dangerous it becomes.

  4. Enthalpy says:

Up to this point he appears to value our constitution very little. Even if impeachment and conviction are the result of his end-around (assuming 2010 Republican victories), Obama might decide that he’s not leaving.

    • Right of the People says:

He might not want to leave but I’m sure if he was actually impeached some of us could get together and help him find the door.

A very thought provoking idea indeed, Pro.

Carter pulled that crap too. But Reagan reversed most of it. So let him try. Might be uncomfortable for awhile, but I look forward to post 2012 when our economy can start rolling again.

But what he calls priorities, the rest of (sane) America calls big ass mistakes and paths to destruction. Whether he knows this or not, he doesn’t care.

Clearly, his desires are to destroy everything he can regardless of what real evidence he has to the contrary because all that “book-learnin’ ” shows him it’s all wrong and socialism is the best path. He truly believes this. He is of the mind that he has to break a few eggs to make an omelet. He hates our system, hates the American people, and pretty much has shown that he’s not a big fan of anyone but himself.

It’s time to really turn up the heat and get this clown out of here. A republican majority in the house and senate? I say GREAT. Let him claim they are the “enemy” but I say that his shoving his sick-minded agenda will still prove to be his undoing. The voices that are against him are growing larger and louder by the day. The white apologist middle-class voters will be screaming much louder when they realize he’s coming for their money too, as we all knew here at S&L.

It’s what they do. You might as well try to teach a shark not to eat. Applying the Scorpion story here is all too appropriate.

No one is bound to follow an order, executive or otherwise, if it is deemed unlawful or unconstitutional.

Pray for a switch of at least 10 senate seats in November. In the meantime, deluge the offices of your senators and representatives (isn’t that term a laugher?) with protests.

It’s obvious the time to take back the power is now. Congress will learn to respect the will of the people or they will learn to regret that lapse.

      Lock and load!

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Well, once again, what we are witnessing is this arrogance of his. And even worse, an arrogance based largely upon ignorance. He has no scientific training in anything so he doesn’t know how anything works; He has no practical business education, so he has no idea how money really works; And he’s essentially a know-it-all hack. He’s Dr Smith from Lost In Space, constantly making a mess out of any legitimate plans and always to seek his own agenda, which is horribly flawed at the very base of it.

And, just like the Robinson family, because of “perfesser” obama’s efforts, we will remain lost in space as long as he keeps “participating”.

I’ve run into these kinds of people in every walk of my life. They are of absolutely no value, professionally, practically, or politically. Often depicted in TV and movies as rather one-dimensional characters, it’s absolutely unbelievable that people cannot recognize them where they really exist. I call this the “emotional/logical disconnect”.

In the end, people believe what they want to believe and evidence be damned, I guess.
