Obama Pretends To Decry Tribal Attitudes

From his fellow race baiters at CBS News:

Obama: "Tribal Attitude" Surfaces in Tough Times

Posted by Brian Montopoli

Asked about what the questioner saw as an increase in racial tension Thursday, President Obama said a "tribal attitude" can come as a result of economic hardship.

"Historically, when you look at how America has evolved, typically we make progress on race relations in fits and starts," he said at a town hall event with young Americans.

He then suggested that the recession has played a part in driving racial antagonism while he has been in office.

"Often times misunderstandings and antagonisms surface most strongly when times are tough. And that’s not surprising," Mr. Obama said, arguing that Americans are less worried when things are going well.

He added that anxiety over not being able to pay bills – or having lost a job or a home – sometimes "organizes itself around kind of a tribal attitude, and issues of race become more prominent."

Talk about the pot calling the kettle ‘half black.’ What has Mr. Obama done of late, except try to organize around ‘tribal attitudes’?

That is exactly how he has tried to get out the Democrat vote — by appealing to the black tribe, the Hispanic tribe, the youth tribe.

He also said, however, that "I think the trend lines are actually good."

"This audience just didn’t exist 20 years ago," Mr. Obama said, surveying the multiracial room of young people to whom he was speaking. He said the interaction between races among young people today is "unprecedented."

As is so often the case, Mr. Obama is wrong about history. We would posit that there was more of a widespread desire for racial harmony in the 1960s than there is right now.

Reverse discrimination and the racial shakedown schemes promoted by the likes of Messrs Jackson and Sharpton have actually set back race relations for many people.

"We’ve got a little bit of everybody in this country," the president said, arguing that "our strength comes from unity, not division."

We’re confused. We thought ‘diversity’ was ‘our strength,’ not ‘unity.’

The president, referencing his own experience, added that "as you get older, your mind gets a little more set." He said that’s why the tolerance of young people is so important. "You guys are going to be the messengers," said the president.

So sayeth a man who does nothing but try to divide the country on the basis of race, gender and class.

By the way, try being a young conservative, if you want to experience "the tolerance of young people."

“Diversity is Our Greatest Strength!” I have heard this empty slogan for about 2 decades now, and can think of about 50 other characteristics that are more productive and honorable than diversity. When I see liberal groups that specifically are NOT diverse, but segregated by race, gender, orientation (N.O.W., NAACP, La Raza, GLAAD, Black Caucus, etc) I wonder, “Who the hell are you preaching to?” and why isn’t the head-bobbing choir practicing what you preach?

And it’s funny that Obama congratulated the audience for being so diverse (the same line the AFL/CIO head criticized the Republican for not doing in their Contract with America booklet) when it is been known that the audience has been engineered selectively beforehand. He makes it sound like diverse races just happened to show up and follow his point of view exactly. Unlike those ‘monochromatic’ Tea Party rallies Chris Matthews reminds us about all the time.

What a hypocrite to point the finger of tribalism to other people. Democrats are a UNION, a collective, a tribe, and all that = racism:

What timing for the latest propaganda the schools are teaching children.

Be prepared for next term’s newest voters. High Schools are giving “research paper” assignments in English. All 70 + subjects they can choose from are in question form, so the student can write their opinion.
The catch is that students may only use the resources for their research that the school library has available. It’s all very controlled.
So, you can see the children getting the controlled response & propaganda that will turn into global warmers & support embryo research. They can not use resources outside what the school has available.
Quite a few on food at school, and should the government restrict our food more.
The next school victims jumping out school windows will be those considered to be overweight and in violation of the eating law.
This propaganda in the schools is going to brainwash a generation, and guide the future candidates into what to run under.

    • Adam Moreira says:

It may also depend on what is in that school library – it wouldn’t be a problem necessarily if parents were proactive and knew what is going on in school in general, or demand without quitting until they get answers on the same.

The typical lib/socialist talking points are those that require no thought. Or, more accurately, they require some degree of thought, and therefore, effort to uncover their true meaning.

By using buzz-words and phrases, they appeal in a sound-bite way to some sort of emotional center on the part of the casual and “obedient” listener. But to a more critical thinker, they question the meaning and investigate more deeply.

Often they employ a sort of double-entendre to obfuscate their intent and the reality behind their message. By claiming “diversity” they are actually trying to gather support from all different kinds of people but as has been noted, they typically and habitually single out many groups/factions/races by the very characteristics they say shouldn’t matter.

It’s a shameful abuse of language on the one hand and also an equally shameful display of arrogance and divisiveness. And the man-child president is the all-time master.

    • Mithrandir says:

This is essentially the Ayn Rand article: Tribalism. If you haven’t clicked the link up there, do it, and go to the 3rd article, and it explains the corruption of language and code-words of collectivists groups.

If you listen to these people speak on campus, it is utter nonsense. BUT it is not intended for you. They use code-words which have a complex meaning that they understand, and they are speaking to each other really.

Our chancellor position was open, and there were 3 VERY liberal people vying for the job, you should have heard the liberal buzz-words fly man! It could just as easily been in morse code. To the untrained ear, it was pure jibberish that seemed to be nice and flowery, but I knew what it was all about. . .

    • Petronius says:

I believe I understand your point, Rusty. I could be wrong, but let me see if this is sort of how it goes :

Nerobama : economic anxiety “organizes itself around kind of a tribal attitude, and issues of race become more prominent.”
true meaning : Whites in this country face an impending crisis.

Nerobama : “interaction between [sic] races among young people today is ‘unprecedented’.”
true meaning : Among young people, whites are now in a minority, and so we’ve got the whip hand.

Nerobama : “our strength comes from unity, not division.”
true meaning : Young people of color need to stick together.

Nerobama : “You [young] guys are going to be the messengers.”
true meaning : We’re going to kick their old white butts.

You know, the first thing that came to me was Crocodile Dundee. Did Kenya have similar tribes, anybody know what tribe Obama came from?

  6. tranquil.night says:

Hm, let’s ask Franz Josef, the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman Empires what happens when you Balkanize people, I bet they’d tell you that World War I started with little to do with economic hardship and more to do with liberty.

  7. proreason says:

    It’s beyond the Big Lie.

    This is the process:

    1. Seek out those things that have the potential to be the most destructive to a nation and society in general.
    2. Grind on those weak points like steel on steel. Gig em. Inflame em. Exacerbate them. Exagerate them.
    3. Watch the anger and frustration rise to a fever pitch.
    4. Blame the fury on your opponent.
    5. Claim that only you can stop the horror.

I ask you……is that not what happens with this monstor every single time?

    • Mithrandir says:

That’s right, he decries tribalism, while he goes out there and beats the bushes of racism and fear to get people to vote. He held a black blogger conference recently. Did Bush Jr. ever hold a white blogger conference? How about all the racial dinners at the W.H. glorifying race?

This guy (and his reverend of 20 years) agitates to the most base racism in our society, then points the finger away, as if he has a guilty conscience about what he is doing. Sometimes you have to admit the issue head on, then blame it on your opponent.

We were all on the same team as 1 country one, time, now we are national divided.

  8. beautyofreason says:

    What a hypocrite.

I guess when Obama was listening to Jeremiah Wright for twenty years they were both having a tough time paying bills?

    Somehow I think not.

America is fractured on the topic of race in part because the Democratic party insists upon breaking down society into racial and ethnic constituents and encouraging dependence and animosity from those groups. They also don’t favor equal rights but exceptional ones. For instance, sanctuary cities are meant to benefit non-citizens primarily of Mexican extraction.

  9. canary says:

Obama came from the Lou tribe. They practice muslim customs. Barbaric female circumcision, Pologamy, & Collective land ownership. If they were to perform the female circumcision in a hospital & keep the bleeding to a minimum, it would be “half” a circumcision. Not sure what Obama’s father’s Lou historian friend means by “half” a circumcision, but guess the bleeding and pain is real important tribal muslim religious wise. Also, their custom was for the men to buy the young girls with cows or what have you. The girls would run and their new husbands would hunt them down and rape them. Probably a fact that turned into a tribal custom, such as one of Obama’s grandfather’s wives who was in love with another man. Everytime she ran home to get away from the abusive grandfather (we know his father abused women too)
he would give her father more cows, til finally she ran away. Obama’s father never forgave his mother, and perhaps that added to his abusiveness to women. And to think he left his son. So, Obama’s self admittance to not being much of a father before becoming president, may be a tribal thing. But, now he does commercials telling men to be a dad, and wrote a book for his daughters.
Obama’s Lou tribe aspired to come to America & an education was very important. His father was smart and the first private school he got into kicked him out for stealing chickens. Then he made it to America. England, Germany, you. People are so disappointed when they go to Africa and it’s lack of authenticity. He nagged & nagged his aunt to go on a safari, though she did not want to pay for it. Gave some woman with a fly buzzing around her eye a quarter for a biscuit. Obama did not like his aunt saying he was lucky to live in America. Obama lectures his half-brother while on the trip for not planning to return and help Kenya after college. I guess the grass looks greener on the other side, but obviously, Obama decided America was better than helping his family & the poor in Africa. Our misfortune.

In Obama’s book after the Lou historian explains the barbaric circumcision he skips to telling how he licked his fingers and washed his hands (in that order) and her “But, isn’t there anything left that is truly Africa?”
    snif snif.

Oh! and something I find interesting is there is no mention his grandfather was tortured. The legal discription on his death giving the tribe, native registration ordinance number, age, sex, hair, size of mouth (large) , teeth: 6 missing, complexion, nose shape,
    under –
Scars, Tribal Marks, or Other Peculiarities: None.

  10. Coco Q. Rico says:

This is all part of the Democrats’s patently desperate attempt to avoid big losses by relying on fear of conservatives. It isn’t working.
