Obama Reneges On Promise Of Border Policy Changes

From the Associated Press:

AP sources: Obama backs off border policy changes

President Barack Obama is holding off for now on seeking new legal authority to send unaccompanied migrant kids back home faster from the Southern border, following criticism that the administration’s planned changes were too harsh.

Do they really think they are fooling anyone? Do they really think we’re that stupid? (Well, since he has been reelected, they might be right.) Obama is pretending that he really wants to change the immigrations laws so that these "migrant kids" will be sent back home. But his hands are tied.

Of course, if Obama really wanted to send these "migrant kids" back, he would do so immediately — using his phone and his pen. After all, he has no problem changing our other immigration laws. And, in this case, he even has the excuse of it being a real national emergency.

Instead when Obama formally asks Congress for more than $2 billion in emergency spending Tuesday to deal with the border crisis, the request will not be accompanied by the policy changes that the White House had indicated it planned to seek, according to two congressional aides…

So Obama lied about having a plan. And now he wants the money before he will tell Congress what he will do with it. What a surprise.

In reality, the money will mostly end up going to airline and bus tickets for these ‘gifts of love’ to go to the US city or state of their choice.

White House officials said they still intend to pursue additional authorities to speed the return of the children who’ve been arriving by the thousands, mostly from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala.

Since there have not been any returns, how are they going to speed them up?

But for now the White House request will focus on additional money for immigration judges, detention facilities, legal aid and other items that could address the situation on the border, which the administration has termed a humanitarian crisis…

None of these illegal aliens is going to show up for their deportation hearings. (They will be thousands of miles away.) So why do we need more judges and legal aid?

The new approach comes after the White House told Congress last week that it would seek "additional authority" for the Homeland Security secretary to quickly return the minors back home. Immigration advocates understood this to mean that the children, who currently have the right to a hearing before an immigration judge, would lose that right and instead would have to make it through an initial screening with a Border Patrol agent…

How do illegal aliens have this right? Because they came to our border? Does everyone who comes to our border have the right to a trial and appeals and a taxpayer provided attorney?

is it legal for a governor of one of the affected states to declare an emergency and activate their state militia? I would say they have an all out foreign invasion on their hands. so what if obummer tries to tell them to stand down. the guv can simply say he’s using his phone and his pen. once the Guard been activated by the guv, the president cannot commandeer them. posse comitatus act does not apply to National Guard mobilized under state authority. I’m sure there are a few school buses in Texas.
it seems no one in elected office is willing to secure our border. words and more words.

“…as most legislators, politicians, lawyers, ministers, and office-holders—serve the state chiefly with their heads; and, as they rarely make any moral distinctions, they are as likely to serve the devil, without intending it, as God. A very few—as heroes, patriots, martyrs, reformers in the great sense, and men—serve the state with their consciences also, and so necessarily resist it for the most part; and are commonly treated as enemies by it.”
