Obama Says GOP Has ‘Gotta Sit In Back’

From a strangely un-outraged Associated Press:

Obama assails GOP on clouded final campaign push

By David Espo, AP Special Correspondent Mon Oct 25, 2010

WOONSOCKET, R.I. – President Barack Obama attacked Republicans with gusto Monday as he plunged into a final week of midterm election campaigning, but his party’s prognosis remained darkened by the feeble economy and his itinerary was designed largely to minimize losses.

Nor was his greeting totally friendly in Rhode Island where Obama has pointedly declined to endorse his party’s candidate for governor

Which is putting it mildly.

In a little more than five hours in the state, Obama was booked for a factory tour and for a pair of fundraisers that party officials said would bring in $500,000.

A ‘chyron’ on Fox News about this visit read: “Obama tours small business factory.” Who knew that there was such a thing? We certainly need these factories to boost their production.

He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stood by and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. Now that progress has been made, he said, "we can’t have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back."

In his two autobiographies and throughout the Presidential campaign Mr. Obama often bragged about being "a child of the civil rights movement."

And despite being obviously ignorant of some of its most basic history, he is surely aware that that a phrase such as "gotta sit in back" packs tremendous racial overtones. So this was almost certainly an intention dig.

Ask yourself what Republican or conservative political figure could get away with making such a ‘pointed’ remark?

Alas, it turns out that Mr. Obama is just as much a post-racial President as he is a post-partisan one. Which is to say he is the most partisan and the most racially divisive President in our nation’s history.

Never mind that Mr. Obama is supposed to be President of the entire country, Republican and Democrat, white and black. After all, the President and Vice President are the only offices that everyone — even evil special interest businessmen vote for.

And speaking of "special interests," has anyone ever noticed that one of Mr. Obama’s brilliant solutions for getting the car out of the ditch was to nationalize the car companies?

Maybe we should cut our divide and conquer President some slack on his knowledge of racial history. Since he is only half black, it is quite possible his white half impeded his ability to fully understand the racial overtones of ‘sitting in the back’.

To think we have to endure at least two more years of his divisive drivel.

He is the most racist person to ever serve in a national office.

  3. Adam Moreira says:

If a Republican had said that, I would have let it slide in the same context – no doubt about it – provided that the race card wasn’t actually used.

      I bet you would ‘macacca.’

    • beautyofreason says:

If s Republican had said that you can be sure that left leaning civil rights groups and to some extent the media would be in a fury. They would use that comment to paint conservatives as racists yearning for the era of segregation.

    • Adam Moreira says:

And the response to the left by the right (in such a case) should have been to shove it. Ask them: What race is being denigrated?

    • Dupree says:

      What race is being denigrated?

Why should it matter? Are you a racist?

He knew exactly what he was saying. That’s all he thinks about: payback.

  5. mr_bill says:

Why does anybody still listen to a thing Nerobama has to say? As Dan Rather pointed out sometime back, Obama couldn’t sell watermelons if you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.

Yassa boss, we’sa gonna move to the back of de bus jus’ like you wants.

  7. Natural Born Citizen says:

BHO is sitting in the ditch in a new GM “Volt” with the drive in “L” for loser. Or maybe “L” for liar since the Volt is actually a hybrid, and since the Democrats have been in the majority since 2006.

  8. Tater Salad says:

I always thought that a President of the United States was to represent ALL Americans? I’d put mony on this that Rosa Parks would have something to say about this also. This guy is a complete racist! Where’s Jesse or Al on this one?

    • Liberals Demise says:

“Where’s Jesse or Al on this one?”

    • sheehanjihad says:

That’s the problem…..we don’t have a President of the United States. Just him.

Obama, tells Latinos “punish our enemies” and vote.

Obama, has never called muslim terrorists, nor Iran our enemy. Obama has never called Mexican terrorists our enemy either. He’s promoting violence. There are thousands of Mexican gangs in the U.S. In the prisons the Mexican gangs are the most deadly inmates.

Obama is a disgraceful example to our youth & his girls. I guess it’s mild considering his families exposure to Rev. Wright. I keep on telling ya, he did not but hang around violent radicals who hate America.

    Leopards seldom change their spots.
