Obama Scolds GOP At Boxer Fundraiser

From a delighted Associated Press:

Obama: I need allies with passion in Congress

By JULIE PACE (AP) – May 26, 2010

SAN FRANCISCO — President Barack Obama on Tuesday said Republicans have to help him solve big issues like energy and immigration if the country is to move forward.

Why should they? As Mr. Obama himself put it, he “won.”

Speaking at a series of fundraisers for Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer, Obama chided Republicans for sitting on the sidelines and putting politics ahead of the needs of the American people.

Only in the Orwellian world of Mr. Obama could siding with the vast majority of the citizenry in opposing ‘healthcare reform’ and ‘immigration reform’ and ‘energy reform’ be called “putting politics ahead of the needs of the American people.”

"There are members of their base who think if somebody even smiles at me, they think, ‘You’re a traitor, you smiled at Obama,’" the president said.

Why should any sane person smile at someone who is so determined to put his radical politics ahead of the needs of the American people?

In a testy, closed-door meeting between Obama and GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill earlier in the day, some Republicans accused Obama of being inauthentic in his calls for bipartisanship, an accusation Obama bristled at Tuesday night.

"There’s gotta be some give on the other side, particularly when you drove the car into the ditch. We can’t just go back to business as usual," he said.

Mind you, this is to show him “bristling” at being called partisan. Not to prove that the Republicans were absolutely right.

Obama was in California to help raise campaign cash for Boxer for the second straight month. Boxer is running for her fourth term, and though she easily won her last re-election, California’s economic woes and an anti-Washington electorate are creating tough re-election prospects this year.

And her unpopularity has nothing to do with her radical liberal politics or her championing of Mr. Obama’s radical policies.

Obama lauded Boxer’s work on clean energy reform, an issue where progress is needed now more than ever in light of the massive and ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, he said

And by ‘clean energy reform’ Mr. Obama means ‘cap and trade,’ which will put a gigantic tax on carbon-based energy at every level.

Obama also renewed his calls for comprehensive immigration reform.

And by ‘immigration reform’ Mr. Obama means amnesty for illegal aliens. Or, what Mr. Obama and the Democrats call "Project Vote."

While the day has passed when he expected full bipartisan support on the issue, Obama said he still needs some Republican support.

"You’ve got to meet me on solving the problem long term," he said

The Republicans should vow to meet him in hell, first.

As happened during his fundraisers for Boxer last month, Obama was interrupted by a protester demanding he "move faster" to repeal the "don’t ask, don’t tell" policy that bars gays from serving openly in the military. Obama said next time, the protester should buy a ticket for an event with a politician who doesn’t support the repeal…

And we are supposed to believe that this ‘protestor’ wasn’t yet another ‘plant’ to give urgency to this (ginned up) ‘crisis.’

After the fundraiser at the Fairmont Hotel, Obama attended a private fundraising dinner at the home of billionaire philanthropists Ann and Gordon Getty.

Does Mr. Obama realize that these Gettys are billionaires thanks to Getty Oil? Maybe someone will inform him, and he will give the money back.

Still, the good news is that we can probably write-off Ms. Boxer’s candidacy, since Mr. Obama is campaigning so aggressively for her.

By the way, note that quote from in the AP headline appears nowhere in the story. This seems to be a new rule in the AP’s style book — that their headlines should have nothing to do with the articles.

Isn’t it the solutions Obama-Speak wants that are the real problems? The thin skinned jug eared one doesn’t appear to listen much.

Agree, Obama toasts Boxer, she was already well done.

They (AP) should be very careful of the people with whom they associate, or they’ll have to re-name themselves the……Asshole-tiated Press!

Wait, wait – I know it was only for 154 days – but damn it all – wasn’t Obama part of the evil bushitlerburtonco Congress? that created all this mess? since it in Congresses hands to not pass any spending, programs or to initiate reforms of programs that they feel are broken? – Or am I just nuts and the POTUS does indeed totally and completely control what happens in America?

In that latter case – We are so scr*wed.

And so typical of Dems – when they are in power – it’s always the predecessors fault -and when they aren’t in power – it’s always the party in power’s fault. Never. Take. Responsibiltiy. At. All. Ever.

Obama says: “”There are members of their base who think if somebody even smiles at me, they think, ‘You’re a traitor, you smiled at Obama,’”

But all I hear is “Waaaaahhhhh, waaahhhhhhh, waaaahhhhhhhhh!”

Man up, Barry. Yes, there are millions of Americans who DON’T LIKE YOU. What did you expect? You seemed quite vocal in your dislike of Bush. How is this any different? Other than, of course, your plans to subvert the United States into a banana republic? And yet you’re surprised that over half the population doesn’t like this?

You are like the child who killed his own parents and then cried because he was an orphan.

    Get bent.

If I was in a room with Obama, I wouldn’t smile at him.

Why would I smile at someone who clearly hates people like me.

Why would I smile at someone who is dismantling the country without the country’s approval.

Why would I smile at the greatest liar of all time.

Why would I smile at a professional con man.

I wouldn’t shake his hand either.

If I had a chance to talk to him, I would tell him flat out “I have nothing but contempt for you. If it were up to me, you would be in jail for life.”

    • beautyofreason says:

      I’ll smile at him.

When he leaves office in 2012 in defeat.

  5. jobeth says:

I’d like to see civilians in a room turn their back on him as a protest….Rude? Maybe, but better rude than a wimp. He couldn’t rationalize that away.

When we get a real American back in that honorable office, we can go back to respecting the office as it deserves.

His problem is that he can’t seem to belittle his opponents enough to get rid of them. In fact their numbers are growing. He can’t stand that and thinks that if he ignores it and talks it down enough his lies will prevail.

Won’t happen…regardless of whether or not he can admit it.

  6. Right of the People says:

“You’ve got to meet me on solving the problem long term,” he said…

You resign, Jug Ears, that’ll at least be a beginning of the solution.

If you were in a room with the boy king, Hitler & Stalin and had a gun with only 2 bullets, what would you do?

    • proreason says:

The boy king’s crimes haven’t risen to the level of deliberately slaughtering millions of people. I’ve never accused him of even wanting to do that. However, there are a lot of personality characteristics that they all share that lead me to believe that in a different place and time, the Moron would be a triplet of the other two:

      – manic narcissism
      – contempt for the opinion of others,
      – disregard for the rule of law
      – extreme manipulative personality
      – eagerness to demonize groups to get their way
      – cold-bloodedness
      – seething anger from a young age
      – hatred of Jews and other “others”
      – attraction to the most extreme philosophies of the age
      – willingness to tell the most outrageous lies conceivable
      – personal glorification and myth-building
      – willingness to wreck massive destruction to acquire power

The world gives the Moron a pass because he hasn’t killed a bunch of people. I say, he hasn’t had to. For precedents to his rise to power, you have to look at the heirs of kings, rather than men like Hitler and Stalin. And even then, you have to look at heirs who didn’t have significant challenges to their authority. When kings and queens ascended peacefully to the throne, there weren’t many that ruthlessly slaughtered people….because they didn’t have to. Obama is the same way. The way his life has developed, the gates of power were swung wide open long before he even got to them. He has been anointed ruler just as much as any regent…and he acts like it. So saying that he isn’t as violent as Hitler or Stalin isn’t really saying much.

Now having said that, I don’t know of any particular personality trait that indicates the Moron has violent tendencies either…..but we wouldn’t know about them, would we?

It’s going to be very intesting to see what he does in 2012 when it becomes clear he has been crushed at the polls. Then we will see how ruthless he is willing to be. I hope not, and think probably not, since he has already said he would be willing to be a 1-term president if he can transform the country to his sick vision. And of course, he wouldn’t lie about something like that, would he?

    • jobeth says:

      Pro…great points!

“”The world gives the Moron a pass because he hasn’t killed a bunch of people. ”

Yet. Unfortunately there was a time, in fact perhaps about the same time in their careers as monsters, Hitler and Stalin had not yet killed.

Give Obalmy the same amount of time with his zombie followers and …..

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Pro: “I don’t know of any particular personality trait that indicates the Moron has violent tendencies either…..but we wouldn’t know about them, would we?”

Canary posted something awhile back about barry’s fascination with the slaughter of some critter in one of his books. It spoke to a Jeffery Dahmer-like fascination and was rather morose. But that might be an indicator of his desires for violence.

I realize your statement may have been rhetorical.

    • proreason says:

“facination with the slaughter of some critter” That’s a key indicator of a sociopath, I believe. If there is a pattern there, the country is in even worse danger than we think.

There is a clear pattern of a lack of empathy, which might also be significant. A few incidents:

After the beer summit, the police officer helped the crippled racist Henry Gates down the steps. Obama strode out to get the best camera angle.

Have you ever seen somebody less concerned about the death of a mother than Obama was about his grandmother during the campaign? Grandma raised him. Yet he never spoke of her in a loving manner, and only managed 1 day out of his schedule to attend the funeral.

He has paid no attention whatsoever to the deaths of the 11 people on the BP rig. They must not be the kind who vote after they die.

Doesn’t seem to have any issues at all with killing civilians with drones in Afghanistan. I agree with the policy, but you might think he would say how much he regrets having to do it.

Bitter clingers? Wow. This about people who are struggling to maintain their way of life.

Where is the empathy for Rev Wright, Commie Jones, or the many other failed appointees?

How can a president of the US of A show as much contempt for his predecessor as the Moron shows for Dubya?

If you were president, do you think you might have expressed support for the hundred-year flood in Memphis. If you have a disaster in your state, make sure you have one in a state that voted for Obamy.

    • Right of the People says:

You missed an easy one. You’d shoot Barry twice to be sure.

    • proreason says:

I was looking for the curve ball.

  8. Rusty Shackleford says:

Your statement really stands out in this crowd, for obvious reasons.

Your spellchecker isn’t functioning. Your post should read:

Obama and Obama: Dumb and Dumber. The Moron Obama fried his brain years ago with cocaine; that’s why he can’t put two words together without tripping over the teleprompter.

Did you see the Gibson-moderated presidential debate? I thank God that under-medicated troglodytes like myself are allowed to vote for someone who only acts smart, tough AND honest.

    Ritalin is a blessing.

So be a good a little troglodyte, go outside and stare at your navel.
