Obama Sends Holder To MO, Opposes ‘Militarized’ Police

From Yahoo News:

Obama will send Holder to Ferguson, says police should not be militarized

By Olivier Knox | August 18, 2014

President Obama announced Monday that he will send Attorney General Eric Holder to Ferguson, Missouri, to take stock of the tense situation there and predicted that Congress will re-evaluate the merits of federal programs that arm local police with military gear.

What a relief it is to hear that Holder is going to Ferguson! We haven’t felt this reassured since Ike announced: ‘I will go to Korea.’

Still, the question arises: when Mr. Holder gets to Ferguson, which side of the barricades will he be on? We’re kidding, of course. If you know anything about Holder’s history, you already know which side he is on in his heart of hearts.

In fact, we suspect that if he were not the top law enforcement officer in the nation, Mr. Holder would already be there rioting and looting — sorry, we mean, grieving and protesting about the Brown shooting.

After all, he readily admits that he is an ‘activist,’ even while he is supposedly serving the country as its unbiased US Attorney General.

“There is a big difference between our military and our local law enforcement. And we don’t want those lines blurred — that would be contrary to our traditions,” Obama said. “And I think that there will be some bipartisan interest in re-examining some of those programs.”

After all, we can’t let the police have any unfair advantage over the criminals. In fact, if possible, we should make sure they can only bring a knife to a gunfight.

Obama, taking a two-day break from his family vacation on Martha’s Vineyard, also expressed skepticism about Missouri Governor Jay Nixon’s decision to call out the National Guard to help keep the peace in Ferguson…

“I’ll be watching over the next several days to assess whether, in fact, it’s helping rather than hindering progress in Ferguson,” the president said, underlining that he had expressed his concerns to Nixon by telephone…

This is the benefit of never taking the lead leading from behind. You can always ‘Monday morning quarterback.’

Where’s o-blow-hole’s “peace through negotiation” process?

Shouldn’t the militant black protestors just talk the good talk and get the police to calm down?

I mean, violence in order to make your point is losing the argument, isn’t it?

These are all things president mom-jeans has indicated or flat-out stated plainly when it comes to US involvement in fracases around the world. His uptake is that such aggressive behavior is unacceptable and out of line with “the way folks do business”.

Obviously I’m being cynical. The socialist/fascist/oligarch left cannot let a good protest go unnoticed and MUST participate. After all, this is awakening those nostalgic feelings that many of the post-1960’s agitators missed out on because they were too young or not born yet when the original looting/rioting/lawbreaking was occurring in the heyday of “righteousness”.

    *sigh*

Glad I don’t live there for I might be tempted to take up a new hobby.

    On a more sublime note—
“Obama speaks with Nixon” has a sort of surreal flavor to it, does it not?

  3. This is why Holder is in Ferguson ..

http://goo.gl/IcRtt3 .. Ferguson Market Michael robbed was indicted for selling stolen cigarettes (a fav among terrorists) and laundering money for PLO terrorists and Hamas .. Holder can’t have all that visited again ..
