Obama Slams ‘Cheney’ Bill - He Voted For

A shocking revelation from his acolytes at the Associated Press:

Critical of McCain, Obama quiet on own energy vote

By TOM RAUM, Associated Press Writer

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Democratic candidate Barack Obama criticized Republican John McCain on Tuesday for taking a page out of “the Cheney playbook” on energy, overlooking his own support of oil-friendly policies that the unpopular vice president helped to craft.

Vice President Dick Cheney, a former oilman, early in the Bush administration helped draft an energy policy that Obama asserted is biased in favor of tax breaks and favorable treatment for big oil. Obama’s remarks were an attempt to capitalize on Cheney’s unpopularity.

“President Bush, he had an energy policy. He turned to Dick Cheney and he said, ‘Cheney, go take care of this,’” Obama said. “Cheney met with renewable-energy folks once and oil and gas (executives) 40 times. McCain has taken a page out of the Cheney playbook.” …

However, Obama himself voted for a 2005 energy bill backed by Bush that included billions in subsidies for oil and natural gas production, a measure Cheney played a major role in developing. McCain opposed the bill on grounds it included billions in unnecessary tax breaks for the oil industry

Increasingly, with his appearances this week and with a new ad, Obama has been seeking to tie McCain to the oil and gas industry, although McCain, unlike Bush and Cheney, did not previously work in the industry.

A new Obama ad says Big Oil filled McCain’s campaign with $2 million in contributions and that he “wants to give them another $4 billion in tax breaks.”

That $4 billion consists mainly of potential revenue from a McCain proposal to lower corporate taxes on all American businesses.

The McCain campaign pointed out that the ad doesn’t mention Obama has taken some $400,000 from oil company executives.

We have to end the age of oil. “Obama said. “If we fail to act, there are severe indications for national security, our economy and our environment.” …

Obama’s focused on economic issues. He said that oil giant Exxon-Mobil “makes in 30 seconds what the typical Ohio worker makes in a year.” …

In a question-and-answer session, Obama was asked if he would support term limits for members of Congress by a questioner who noted that many senators were elderly.

“I’ve got colleagues in the Senate who are doing absolutely outstanding work, and they’re well into their 70s,” Obama said. He praised ailing Sen. Edward M. Kennedy as one

And to think our current crop of comedians rib McCain for his senility.

Mr. Obama seems to have a very spotty memory, which is not a good thing for such a liar. Though, despite this article, it is not something the media ever call him on.

And speaking of our media, we note our shock at some actual reporting coming out of the Associated Press, of all places.

Obviously they think everyone is on a five week vacation, like Congress.

Obama is not even 1/4 of a man as Cheney. Cheney has a very distinguished biography. Obama should only hope his is 1/2 as good as Cheney. Stupid Idiot.

“He praised ailing Sen. Edward M. Kennedy as one…”

Another example of BO’s poor judgment.

I am amazed that Obamanation even voted on a bill - so naturally he forgot he voted for it, as he probably thought he voted Present as he did so often in IL.

Keep it up Obamanation - you won’t even be able to beat the guy you claim is senile - which will make you the laughing stock of the bitter, clinging gun owners and of course the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

Why doesn’t McCain point out that Exxon/Mobil’s 11 billion in profit came AFTER paying 34 billion in taxes last quarter.

Oh by the way, when the 11 billion is doled out to share holders in the form of dividends or stock profits, it will be taxed again.

Ah, the candidate of change. If we change our minds he will change his mind. My leg feels all tingly. Oh, wait. It’s just asleep.

Grassy , my legs tingle too. Like , I’m being frisked for the last of my change from my pay check , after taxes .The stench of stupidity seems to linger around the man-god Obama , and for good reason . He and the left want it really , really bad ! Damn the issues . Damn the problems that we all face. He just needs to get elected . I’m hoping that I can keep my change .

Ah, Wirenut - that is a great line - I’m Hoping that I can keep my Change!!!!

You know what Obamanation, Pelosi et al are failing to connect - that when this gas ‘crisis’ gets to a certain point - no one, not even their foaming at the mouth bds suffering moonbats are going to give a dinky darn as to whose fault it is they are simply going to want someone to step up and deal with it, NOW.

And Hopefully that will bring about a real Change come the end of this month and the beginning of next - so the America can gain back some sanity and rational governence. Or at least not a more radical one.
