Obama: The US Will Never Retreat From Terrorists

From The Hill:

President: Al Qaeda is ‘on the way to defeat’

By Carlo Muñoz | August 7, 2013

President Obama on Wednesday declared al Qaeda to be "on the way to defeat" despite the new threat from the group that was intercepted by intelligence agencies.

"Al Qaeda’s top ranks have been hammered," Obama said during a speech at Camp Pendelton, Calif. "The core of al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan is on the way to defeat." …

They sure are taking a round about way getting there.

The president took a defiant tone on Wednesday, declaring the United States would not be held hostage by terrorists.

Are we sure he wasn’t talking about the Republicans in Congress?

"Here’s what those who cowardly attack civilians do not get. The United States will never retreat from the world," Obama said.

And Mr. Obama said this after closing our embassies for a week or longer. After telling US citizens to flee from Yemen. And never mind his ‘bug outs’ in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"We do not get terrorized. We’re going to keep standing up to our enemies [and] we’re going to keep standing up for the security of our citizens," Obama told the nearly 3,000 Marines in attendance.

"The United States of America is going to remain the greatest force for freedom that the world has ever known," he added…

Who has hacked Obama? This is certainly a new tune coming from him. In fact, it’s probably the opposite of his true feelings.

Meanwhile, from Fox News:

Obama standing by decision to lift moratorium on releasing Guantanamo Bay prisoners back to Yemen

By Jennifer Griffin | August 08, 2013

In spite of the ongoing terror threat emanating from Yemen, the White House says it does not plan to rethink President Obama’s decision last May to lift a moratorium on releasing Guantanamo Bay prisoners back to that country.

“I am lifting the moratorium on detainee transfers to Yemen, so we can review them on a case by case basis,” Obama told an audience at the National Defense University during a major counterterrorism policy speech on May 23…

What a relief. We can now stop worrying about these terrorists being prevented from returning to their terrorist activities.

However, this does raise the question. How come Al Qaeda is being criticized for breaking terrorists out jails in Iraq, Pakistan and Libya. — Isn’t that what Obama is doing down in Gitmo? And what he has been doing for some time now?

Hilariously, here is the headline from the Washington Post on this same situation: "Security threat from Yemen complicates Obama’s Guantanamo plan."

nerobama doesn’t run from terrorists, he meets with them in the White House, gives them weapons, fighter jets, tanks, and our money.

  2. Petronius

When Nerobama beats his chest and speaks about “those who cowardly attack civilians” shouldn’t he include himself?

In fact, shouldn’t his name be inserted at the top of that list?

After all, his is the first regime in modern American history to attack ordinary, individual, apolitical American civilians. The first to deliberately target and attack the common man.

Here I refer to his investigations, harassments, and demonizations of ordinary civilians such as Joe the Plumber, Rick Santelli, AIG executives, bankers and “Wall Street fat cats,” Sgt. Jim Crowley and the Cambridge police force, George Zimmerman, Chrysler dealers, GM bondholders, hedge fund managers, citizens and resident aliens with foreign bank accounts, Napolitano’s “terrorists” (veterans, Dr Ron Paul supporters, pro-lifers, et al.), of the bitter clingers, of those who live by their own work, of the wealthy, of Christians, farmers, and attendees at town hall meetings such as Katy Abram. The IRS targeting of Tea Party organizers and participants, the targeting of Romney donors, conservative organizations, college interns, 83-year-old Marianne Chiffelle –– a survivor of a WWII Japanese prison camp, who was ordered to report the names of her friends and their conversations at her tea parties. Of Billy Graham, Jewish organizations, Dr Anne Hendershott, James Rosen, Fox News, Sharyl Attkisson, whistleblowers, Border Patrolmen and Immigration Judges. The systematic deployment of the IRS, FBI, BATF, DEA, NSA, FEC, EPA, Interior, Agriculture, State, HHS, and other government departments and agencies against innocent people –– against ordinary Americans.

Everybody talks about the Republicans’ War on Women. But what about the regime’s War on Americans? This regime is the first to systematically wage war on Christianity and Christians. The first publicly to single out “the rich” and make war on them. To make war on prosperity, on the economy, on all forms of economic activity, on coal and oil, on banks, mortgage lenders, oil companies, and electric utilities, on small businesses, on free market capitalism and private property. And to make war on freedom of speech, press, religion, guns, privacy, States rights, and the Constitution and rule of law.

All of Nerobama‘s policies these days seem designed to destroy or replace the American people –– higher taxes and political oppression, promotion of abortion, gay marriage, mass migrations and colonization by Third Worlders, the healthcare takeover and death panels, curtailing the energy supply, crippling the economy, and waging war against private property.

What has all of this been if not a five year campaign of “cowardly attacks on civilians”?

It is there for all to see.

However, as I continue to age, I have noticed it takes a long time for the populace to recognize and then understand what is happening.

I don’t know what to chalk it up to other than I guess the masses are just too damned slow.

I suppose on the small-scale, when engaged in conversation, there’s always one character who states the obvious from five minutes ago, then there’s another (often it’s me) who retorts, “Just getting here, are you? Did you miss the first half of the show?” which results in the sink-eye from said participant.

Americans don’t seem to be taught or have learned to “keep up”. I don’t consider myself all that quick but I often find myself ahead of the comprehension curve when a discussion is taking place. Even when I was a kid, I could draw a conclusion way ahead of the given information.

IOW, the permutations and possibilities were already calculating in my head simply by being curious about where this particular new “policy/procedure” could go.

This is what has enabled me to prevent myself from going broke….or from running into a bad situation with a potential human threat in the professional world.

I guess many people do not have these skills. Yet they plod along, I think with their minds filled with more self-interest than mine. This is, of course, to be expected and is completely understandable. But is it also that I have all that along with additional room for analytical thought? You know, that feature that socialists like to claim they have in great quantities but who actually can’t think their way out of a wet paper sack?

I never have and never will consider myself in any way superior to others but it does often cross my mind when I’m behind someone in a 55mph zone who pulled out in front of me at the last second and who’s now doing 35mph with no plans on changing that any time soon.

Maybe….just maybe….the vast majority moves at a pace that is glacial and I’m the mistake. I go too fast…..understand too quickly (and yes, I do jump to conclusions sometimes but have tempered that behavior with the passage of time).

I still submit that Americans need more cynicism and less rainbows and unicorns in our thought-patterns. It’s a protection mechanism that has great benefits.

    • Petronius

Yes, Rusty. They’re “just too damned slow.” And too lazy to think for themselves.

The American idiocracy seems to have swallowed the Liberal Death Wish hook, line, and sinker. Easier to swallow than to think. Easier to go along to get along. Requires fewer calories, I suppose. Fewer Nehi colas and Moon Pies.

And so I put it down to the moral and mental depravity of so many of our fellow Americans.

“I call an animal, a species, an individual depraved when it loses its instincts, when it chooses, when it prefers what is harmful to it.”
      – Neitzsche, “The Antichrist”

Of course they are conditioned to accept it almost from birth –– through the schools, TV anchor babes, commercials and infomercials, you-name-it. So maybe we shouldn’t be so harsh on them. They’re just not up to doing any forced thinking.

And BTW, who has been busily importing terrorists into the US, if not Nerobama himself? Nerobama and his minions? “Send us your crazy Chechnyans with their pressure cooker bombs” — he practically shouted it from the rooftops. Practically ordered Putin to stand down.

So send us more Saudis with their box cutters. Send us your savage Africans with their meat cleavers and underpants bombs. Send more fanatical Major Hassans with their workplace violence. The American idiocracy wants all they can get.

And listen to the Republicans join in! And it’s not just John “comprehensive reform” McCain and Lindsey Grahamnesy this time. This time it’s also Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Eric Cantor, and Rep. Bob Goodlatte –– from VA 6th district of all places! just a bomb’s throw from Blacksburg, where apparently they didn’t learn a thing from the Virginia Tech massacre. Yes, they want all the immigrants they can get. They are ready to welcome all the jihadists the Muslim world can muster, and they will tell you over and over again that the results will be deficit neutral (as if anybody still cared about deficits).

So, there you have it. A triumph of the Liberal Death Wish. .

I tell you Rusty I can’t stand it anymore. I’m heading over to Mount Airy to The Snappy Lunch diner where you can still get a toasted cheese sandwich and cup of sanity for $1.75. Catch you later.
