Steve,

As you have pointed out. In our society that, at one time, had literary names to match up to the great Eurpoean literary masters, now has publishers who only work the money. Thus, if some poorly presented and equally poorly written lettuce sandwich of a book that will garner some quick cash even if the reputation of the publisher takes (yet another) hit, then so be it. It's all about bucks, not Buckley anymore, so...so what?

And, while America is reading the mental masturbations of this never-quite-grown-up adolescent-in-charge, reason, logic, sense all take yet a further back seat all in the name of racial justice, and his anger towards whites.

I can only speak for myself when I say that if I went to high school with this guy, as non-violent a person as I am, I would easily, EASILY have yelled at him for a whiny, spoiled, self-absorbed, out-of-touch, lazy pansy.

Unfortunately though, even in the class of '79, that would have only resulted in his being raised up to some level of victimization.

His books suck. His writing sucks. His ghost-writer's writing sucks and he is unable to present the truth in any way, shape, form or even (yes, dare I say it?) COLOR.

He is not descended of slaves. He is in no way a touch-stone to even begin to discuss the history of it. And the liberals have chosen as their representative the LAST person on the face of the earth to make their case.

But, by today's standard....who cares about truth, facts, real evidence anymore? He looks good in dem shoes, don't he? Num sayin?' Word!

"It also feels, in Obama’s speech, like he views all of Africa as one big entity, rather than a complex continent with many different levels of corruption or lawfulness. Remember when Palin was smeared (falsely) for thinking Africa was a country? It seems that smear is more appropriate if applied logic to the rhetoric here."

But it is identifiable in the way the left views Africa today. I expressed my displeasure that my son's school legitimizes the phony baloney, profoundly oversimplified concept espoused by Kwaanza, that there is unity among black Africans because of their skin color. It should be rejected by anyone who has studied Africa or who has eyes and ears to see what is happening there today. Worse though, it reminds one of the illegitimate notion of unity among the "Aryan" race. It is an offense to logic and decency to embrace or advance this faux holiday (not to mention its less than respectable founder, Ron Karenga.)

"One day he would say one thing, and the next day it was as if he was saying something else."

'splains a lot! Obamy's lies are only genetic? (sarc)

"But despite these words, I don’t think he ever believed that the white man was born superior to the African".

Wanna bet? That's usually where this anger comes from.

If someone tries to tell me they are superior to me, I don't become angry, I just out perform them and I can then enjoy THEIR anger. Anger comes from frustration of not being able to best someone. Not in the satisfaction that you have bested someone else.

Its all about performance. (performance = power ,,, less performance = less power) Thus the off hand remark of having to beat a black man to get them to work. Sounds to me like this is what ol' grandpa was saying.

That being said, no one would fault grandpa for quitting a job where someone would beat him.

But in the end...Just like grandpa...Obalmy too is quilty of ... "One day he would say one thing, and the next day it was as if he was saying something else." As I said...genetic? Yep...my bet.

"Even when he spoke to you, he would look away for fear that you would know his thoughts. So it was with his attitude towards the white man. One day he would say one thing, and the next day it was as if he was saying something else. I know that he respected the white man for his power, for his machines and weapons and the way he organized his life."

Sounds like a Chicago community organizer currently imposing Marxism on the world.

If there is one thing the Moron is good at, it's talking out of 3 sides of his mouth at the same time.

Canary,

thanks for doing this. I like being able to get a closer look at what he wrote and for the life of me I can't find it in me to sit and read this stuff. I view what you are doing ss "taking it on the chin" for the rest of us :-D who want to know what the books say but can't stomach him.

Also I love to read your thoughts. You often say things that the rest of us feel and think.! Keep up the great work.

I meant to post this earlier.

From the original article:

Obama spoke of the indignities visited upon Africans from the era of European rule. He said his grandfather, a cook for the British in Kenya, was called "boy" by his employers for much of his life despite his being a respected village elder. He said it was a time of artificial borders and unfair trade.

But 'Dreams' (pp 218-9) seems to tell a different story:

I also did not always understand what your grandfather thought. It was difficult, because he did not like people to
know him so well. Even when he spoke to you, he would look away for fear that you would know his thoughts. So it
was with his attitude towards the white man. One day he would say one thing, and the next day it was as if he was
saying something else. I know that he respected the white man for his power, for his machines and weapons and the
way he organized his life. He would say that the white man was always improving himself, whereas the African was
suspicious of anything new. “The African is thick,” he would sometimes say to me. “For him to do anything, he needs
to be beaten.”
But despite these words, I don’t think he ever believed that the white man was born superior to the African. In fact, he
did not respect many of the white man’s ways or their customs. He thought many things that they did were foolish or
unjust. He himself, he would never allow himself to be beaten by a white man. This is how he lost many jobs. If the
white man he worked for was abusive, he would tell the man to go to hell and leave to find other work. Once, an
employer tried to cane him, and your grandfather grabbed the man’s cane and thrashed him with it. For this he was
arrested, but when he explained what had happened, the authorities let him off with a fine and a warning.

Somehow Obama's grandfather doesn't sound like the type to let himself be called 'boy.'

But what's another 'white lie' among friends.

He's certainly an audacious conman.

The crime boss ne of Chicago, now of Washington, lecturing other countries on morals and corruption.

Could there possibly be more laughably ironic advice.

Like a Michael Jackson on steroids, the contemptable clown finds nothing wrong with HIS vile despoilation of everything good in America while lecturing the entire world on what morality and justice is.

But hey, his family has a lot in common with the gloved one, and their minds seem to work a lot alike. Except, I don't think Michael was as pure evil as our little Obamy is.

Islandman....Here, here, well said! It's good to hear the truth from someone who knows the truth first hand as yourself.

"Even they and their mindless supporters will soon feel the effects of the years of liberal nonsustainable academic and media driven policies that has slowly gutted American insitiutions and made a mockery of politics. "

The term "useful idiots" come to mind here. They will someday feel the pain they were so instrumental in putting in place. Lets hope and pray they fail first.

Thanks for your post. I enjoyed reading it.

What hoot to play sympathy for his grandfather in Kenya. fairy tale dreams

pg 369 Obama learns that his family nick-named him "the terror" because he was so "mean". lot's of the children and grandchildren. He raped and beat his many wifes that would run away from him, because of it. He was always beating someone for petty things. AND he chose to work for the British who taught the ignorant man how to farm. Family felt most of problems stemmed from this grandfather.

Grandfather volunteered to work for British and served as a "captain". One day he just left to follow the Englis white men for 3 monthes, came back dressed like a white man. His father (O's great-grandfather disowned his grandfather for this. 398. His grandfather then started working for the white man. because he'd learned the language. pg 401 Obama's grandfather "PROSPERED" and O's grandfather believed the black Africans needed to be beat to get work out of them, though he himself would not allow abuse.
Nothing about being called "boy". Must have sounded good for his seech.
He was muslim and did not understand forgiveness. Something Obama doesn't understand either. O's grandfather considered the black man dumb and lazy, unlike the white man. O's aunt tells him, that his grandfather's name appeared on a list of KANU as a subversive, and so he was "detained". Didn't use the word imprisoned. Also, when O's mean grandfather died the
death certificate said he had no scars or tribal marks.
"no where is it written he was called boy." He was a captain.
