Obama To Blacks: Stop Complainin’ And Fight

From an unfazed Associated Press:

Obama tells blacks to ‘stop complainin’ and fight

By MARK S. SMITH – Associated Press
September 26, 2011

WASHINGTON (AP) — In a fiery summons to an important voting bloc, President Barack Obama told blacks on Saturday to quit crying and complaining and "put on your marching shoes" to follow him into battle for jobs and opportunity.

And though he didn’t say it directly, for a second term, too.

It goes without saying that everything Mr. Obama has been saying and doing for the last couple of months is geared towards his re-election. His campaign has admitted that they have given up trying to ‘govern’ until after the election.

Of course, in reality, Mr. Obama has never tried to be President of the whole country. Which is exactly the opposite of what he promised.

Obama’s speech to the annual awards dinner of the Congressional Black Caucus was his answer to increasingly vocal griping from black leaders that he’s been giving away too much in talks with Republicans — and not doing enough to fight black unemployment, which is nearly double the national average at 16.7 percent.

Obama thinks that if you want a better economy and more jobs – you just have to march for it. Demand it. What a shock that a professional agitator community organizer would think that this is how you get things done.

By the way, don’t you think "a fiery summons to an important voting bloc" would be called ‘race baiting’ if it was a speech to the Congressional White Caucus?

"It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y’all," Obama told an audience of some 3,000 in a darkened Washington convention center.

We love it when Mr. Obama gets all folksy and starts dropping his ‘Gs.’ (But what is with the Washington Post and their racist adjectives?)

But he said blacks need to have faith in the future — and understand that the fight won’t be won if they don’t rally to his side.

"I need your help," Obama said.

The president will need black turnout to match its historic 2008 levels if he’s to have a shot at winning a second term, and Saturday’s speech was a chance to speak directly to inner-city concerns.

Notice how easily the Washington Post uses code words like ‘inner city’ for black people. Apparently there are no white denizens of ‘inner-cities.’

He acknowledged blacks have suffered mightily because of the recession, and are frustrated that the downturn is taking so long to reverse. "So many people are still hurting. So many people are barely hanging on," he said, then added: "And so many people in this city are fighting us every step of the way."

And never mind all the violent rhetoric about "fighting." It’s okay when Obama and the Democrats use it.

But Obama said blacks know all too well from the civil rights struggle that the fight for what is right is never easy.

"Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes," he said, his voice rising as applause and cheers mounted. "Shake it off. Stop complainin’. Stop grumblin’. Stop cryin’. We are going to press on. We have work to do."

The media pretends to be confused about what Obama was saying. It seems to us that he is calling ‘his people’ out into the streets. His ‘army.’

Topping the to-do list, he said, is getting Congress to the pass jobs bill he sent to Capitol Hill two weeks ago.

Has the bill even been introduced in the House yet? Maybe Mr. Obama needs to take off his bedroom slippers and do something – that is, do something other than campaigning and fundraising.

"The future rewards those who press on," He said. "I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I don’t have time to complain. I’m going to press on."

When has Mr. Obama not felt sorry for himself? He has blamed every problem in his entire tenure at the White House on George Bush. In reality, Obama is one of the biggest complainer in the history of our country.

This year’s caucus speech came as Obama began cranking up grass-roots efforts across the Democratic spectrum

That is if the Democrat spectrum only extends from the hardcore left to the radical lunatic fringe left. Which is apparently the case.

Obama To Congressional Black Caucus: “I Expect All Of You To March With Me … Stop Complaining, Stop Crying”…

While acknowledging the hard-hit black community and budding criticisms in its ranks, President Barack Obama said in a speech Saturday night to the Congressional Black Caucus that he wouldn’t give up — and urged members of the black community to join him to jump-start the still sluggish economy.

“I expect all of you to march with me, and press on,” Obama said. “… Stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying. We are going to press on. We’ve got work to do.”

And people buy the narrative that conservatives are racist? ”Child Please”… Obama tells blacks, quit your bitchin’ and get in line. Dissing them like there’s no other option available for the black folk except continued liberal oppression. *Unreal*

I blow a gasket every time I hear about Black This and Black That … my wife says she DID NOT march in Selma and Chattanooga and Atlanta as a white housewife so the people she was trying to help could then call themselves something other than Americans.

While I merely get red in the face I have to put a straight jacket on her when she hears BLACK Congressional Caucus or any of a hundred other ways they isolate themselves into color-bounded divisions.

Code words from a community agitator. Time for his foot soldiers to strap on their nightsticks. Barry may not have lived the ‘authentic’ black experience, but he understands the Chicago way.

Jesus, the man is out of his mind IMO. Catch the ending when he slaps the podium.

President… heal thyself. Amazing how dems typically tell you exactly what they’re doing by accusing others of the offense. From violent rhetoric blamed on the tea parties to unwillingness to “compromise” in congress. The only violent rhetoric comes entirely from the left, but they accuse conservatives. Unwillingness to compromise… wasn’t Princess Pelosi parachuting in to get Obiecare passed whether we wanted it or not?

So what can we take from this exchange? Barry is a petulant child who spends the majority of his time “complainin’, grumblin’, cryin’, and slacking off. He has as much as admitted it right here.

Actually, yes, Rusty. Strangely, even Obama seems to be saying: Shut up and start working.

  4. Chase says:

    Helena,

I have to disagree. (Note – I have not listened to the speech. I can’t 1) stomach Obama, and 2) internet bandwidth is very restricted over here in SWAsia.) I would like to think a black leader would say, get a job, but I don’t think he did.

From what I have read here, he was just agitating, and talking about marching. More protests, more rallying, more non-GNP generating energy into noise and trash to clean up, more haranging for what we’s owed, about us bein’ victims, oppressed, and the system.

If was telling them to get jobs, to get educated, to stay in school, he would have said it. He said “march.” How can you hold a job when you are marching?

  5. Helena says:

Chase – Of course you’re right. What he’s really saying is get off the couch and march for the “right” to be subsidized to lie on the couch for the rest of your life.

Is it any wonder why ammunition is flying off the shelves? It’s like the new Beaujolais run except it bullets & night scopes down at the Pro Bass Shop.

I’m not kidding, you have to call ahead to find out when the next shipment is due in. And it’s gone by noon. And, I’m not talking out in the sticks. I’m talking about suburbia.

When all else fails, charge racism & class enttitlements. What else did you expect from a community rabble rouser? This election is shaping up to be the most deadly in our history…and that’s sayin’ something. And it is the DNC led by Obama that’s perpetrating it. They can’t stand on their argument so they change it to incite the mob. It’s disgraceful.

From outrageous spending 4 x that of W, to enemy combatants, EPA gone wild & now a race baited campaign theme, this crazy person we call president has us in so many different uncharted waters, he ought to star opposite Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow’s nemsis in the next “Pirates of the Carribean”.

Regardless, in the my money’s on the Clingers. The blood of innocent people though will be on Obama & the rest of his lot. Hopefully he’ll be impeached & soon (or do DC republicans not have the stomach for it?).

RB : “you have to call ahead to find out when the next shipment is due in.”

I would time my shopping trips to Adams Lumber with the UPS delivery schedule so that I could be first in line.

Even then it was hit-or-miss because the shipment might not have my calibers. Or because the boxes I wanted were reserved for gun buyers, since they can’t sell the gun without a box of ammo.

Unfortunately Adams Lumber went out of business about a year ago. Times are tough.

Obama used a gay flamboyant style when he spoke to the gays telling them to give him time. Bizarre.

“It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y’all,” Obama told

Obama is listening more to muslims $.

“Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes,” he said, his voice rising
as applause and cheers mounted. “Shake it off. Stop complainin’. Stop grumblin’. Stop cryin’..

OM! If a white politician said told this crowd to take off their bedroom slippers his career would be over.

And I think minorities should be outraged of such condescension and hypocrisy. Clearly their applauding shows they are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome and are grateful to a few crumbs from their oppressor and predator.

Cleaver says a “sugar coated Satan”
If a white politician said this they’d be called a religious nut.
