Actually he is not cutting a dime. All the so called reductions are picked up in other programs, so in reality there are no cuts whatsoever.

You said it, pd. He doesn’t speak for me, either. I just saw on the Word Network when this ass-clown travelled to Yurp, he had an entourage that would rival the king of Siam. Over 500 people and 6 speechwriters and 12 teleprompters, among other things (personal chef and his own food and water, perhaps he fears a poisoning?)

He is a classic fool. In a classic setting, with the classic ignorant minions who classically hang on his every word.

Everything he says/does is hollow and meaningless yet will result in monumental problems for us all.

Applying simple math – since last years budget was 2.98 trillion dollars – cutting 17 billion dollars should make the FY2009 budget 2.96 trillion. Since the actual budget is 3.6 trillion dollars, it appears to a simpleton like myself the federal budget is actually increasing by 20%.

Of course, I could be wrong since I do not possess the “new math” skills of our esteemed community organizer.

As always, Obama does not speak for me. I do not want a hollow gesture on Washington’s part to show that they are prepared to act with the same sense of responsibility. Obama obviously does not have the same understanding of the term “responsibility” as me.

$17B seems like a lot of money to most folks, well hell it is – unless you compare it to a few trillion, but I digress. $3.6T is so large, its equivalent to telling someone how far the sun is… 99% of people cannot fathom it, therefore it doesn’t resonate – but cutting billions is the only thing dopes hear and gush over.

It also (defying basic logic) allows Bambi and the critters to repeat the meme “Bush increased our deficit” – and comparative numbers be damned.

Liebrals are very good at relying on the stupidity of their followers and the masses of asses of Americans. It is their ethos…

Of course this is also a “drop in the bucket” and most of it’s coming from defense. I’m not saying there isn’t room to cut there but cutting up and coming weapon systems isn’t the way to go. But the two punishments won’t be in uniform and the child of Biden’s loins is in the JAG corps which is relatively safe compared to the folks out on patrol, far away fobs, are working in the special training teams. Also, many people are wise to the ways of “outside of Washington that’s a lot of money” nonsense.
