I suggest a combination of obscenely tall fences, with a moat, staffed by alligators or pirhuanas on the U.S. side. So in case someone is superhuman enough to get over the fence (preferably electrified by a nice solar cell, wanna be green and all that …), the animals will get ‘em. And if they get to land, there’s a nice snake pit chock full of the nastiest venomous snakes we can collect (or maybe some of those pythons people are letting loose in the Everglades). If they get past that, the Border Patrol has had time to get to where they are (sensors everywhere) and apprehend them, tossing them right back over the fence via catapult.

Wow. Such audacity. Ms Napolitano must feel like John Wayne in “Sands of Iwo Jima.” Or Mel Gibson as “Braveheart.” What will the repercussions be in Mexico City? In Haiti? In Mogadishu and Islamabad?

Of course this enforcement aspect of the proposal will never be implemented. For if it were, the process of dissolution, so long awaited –– dare I say, so fervently wished for –– might receive a temporary setback.

And as for the second leg of the stool –– that part about a “tough and fair pathway” to citizenship –– who are they trying to fool?

Exactly where is the paper trail that our Government bureaucrats will use to establish a migrant’s identity for purposes of registration, tax liability, criminal background check, etc.? These people are drifters who use multiple identities and portfolios of forged or stolen documents. Nobody knows who they are! That is why Liberals call them “undocumented.” Geesh. Give me a break.

For that matter, how does Ms Napolitano know that there are only 12 million of them? Shouldn’t we at least get a handle on the size of the invasion force before we capitulate?

And those fences will never last. Fences would just force the migrants to build more tunnels. And the tunnels would disturb the prairie dog habitats. Or the California delta smelt. Then Ms Napolitano would have to answer to the Sierra Club and PETA. No, no, no. Fences will never do.

Any candidate leaning toward it is shooting him or herself in the foot. Any candidate who has the intestinal fortitude to say the feds need to secure the southern border and start deporting criminal illegals (those who have crossed the law in any way shape or form) will probably earn plenty of votes.

Why is it so damn hard for the federal government to understand that the borders (notably the southern border) must be secured before any real immigration reform can happen? Illegals aren’t going home on their own … secure the borders, keep those illegals who have served in our military, keep some that are in college trying to secure professions that will help the United States be a better place, through those actions proving they want to be Americans, and send the rest away.

I don’t think Obama will have control of much of anything – much less the ability to give anything by 2010 – now that the info on the Owens/Hoffman race (NY-23) are coming out – the corruption and deceit of this Administration are being exposed to all.

After Obama’s first year – The DNC will be lucky if they can get anyone elected to dog catcher.

And America will be able to Right the wrongs and get back to her original greatness.

Term Limits, Repeal the 16th Amendment, Photo ID to Vote, Close the Borders, Deport Illegal Aliens as they are found and No Candidate is Sworn in Until EVERY vote is counted. . .IF you are afraid of living in America under the Constitution and the Rule of Law – there are many countries in which you can use your thug power and money and live high and mighty. Go – Leave America to those who desire to be AMERICANS.

Under the mr_bill plan, those would be requirements as well. However, in addition the mr_bill plan requires all illegal immigrants to be summarily deported back to their home country. From there, they may line up to take numbers to get a chance for a visa and legal immigration status. They will be banned from holding any temporary visa in the meantime. Maybe if they EARN their citizenship, they won’t treat my country with such disrespect.
