Watch Obama Lie About Talking To Blago

From the former news network, MSNBC, via YouTube:

“Obviously I am saddened and sobered by the news that came out of the U.S. Attorney’s office today. I had no contact with the governor or his office. So, I was not aware of what was happening. It’s a sad day for Illinois. Beyond that, I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to comment.”

Mr. Obama then goes on to tell us how he will put an end to all of those crackpot Global Warming deniers.

However, it turns out that Mr. Obama is the one who is in denial.

From David Axelrod’s appearance on Fox Chicago Sunday, November 23, 2008:

Axelrod: Obama has talked to Blago about replacement

It looks like we are going to have to get used to this.

What else can one expect from a Chicago thug politician?

They are to lies and corruption like fish are to water.

But oh how we will all laugh when we look back on this laughable fantasy about global warming.

And oh how we should punish those who are trying to destroy our economy — even more than they already have.

Gore should fart BEFORE he goes into meeting where there are cameras. When he tries to hold them in, his face turns beet red.

  2. proreason says:

and having covered the fart topic, this from the complaint warrant itself agains Blago:

“In particular, ROD BLAGOJEVICH has been intercepted conspiring to trade the senate seat for particular positions that the President-elect has the power to appoint (e.g. the Secretary of Health and Human Service”

Apparently Obamy and his staff saw nothing wrong with this since the communications were “intercepted” rather than “reported”.

But who wants to bet that Obamy will later claim credit for instigating the investigation?

And of course, Obamy would have seen nothing wrong with Blago’s attempt to get a 150K position for his wife, since Thunder Butt’s raise was even larger than that when Obamy was funneling the $1M earmark to the hospital she worked for.

  3. Steve says:

“But who wants to bet that Obamy will later claim credit for instigating the investigation?”

Well, if the reports are true, he and Rahm Emanuel can at least claim credit for stopping it.

  4. JohnMG says:

In a three-minute-thirty-five second clip I counted a full SIXTY times that “fearless leader” uttered his infamous ‘uh’ comment. I dread every time this turd begins to speak.

What is it, uh, with this, uh, idiot that makes him incapable, uh, of completing even one, uh, sentence without, uh, stuttering and stammering about in search of, uh, a few stolen, uh, moments in which to, uh, try and, uh, think of something profound to, uh, say?!!

The next four years are going to be unbearable

  5. ATLien says:

Is it not obvious to anyone else that this is Obama’s ‘wag the dog’ moment. Of course Obama knew what the Governor was doing, and low and behold the day that Rezko is subpeaned for OBAMAs scum bag loan, Obama leaks this and the MSM lap it up only to ignore the Obama-Rezko story. Obama can deny his knowledge of the ‘sale’ of the Senate seat, but he cannot hide subpeaned evidence without help from his henchmen, the MSM.

  6. proreason says:

good post ATLien. makes a lot of sense. Here’s Rush’s take from the show today. Also inciteful, as usual:

” It’s no wonder that Obama bought off Hillary with this Secretary of State appointment. I now understand why he’s putting all these Clinton people in his administration. It was a brilliant stroke and even more so today. Now, Ben Smith at The Politico is speculating Obama knew all about this corruption investigation going down, not that he was tainted by it himself. The Drive-Bys are making it clear, in fact, without even knowing anything, the Drive-Bys — we’ve got audio sound bites coming — are making it clear Obama had no knowledge; he had nothing to do with this, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. Some of them are even ripping on Fitzgerald now for overreaching. Obama has recruited all the Clintons. He has insulated himself politically from a number of these things. It’s brilliant.”

    Criminal in Chief.

  7. Right2thepoint says:

The Obama campaign is now say Axe misspoke.

    Right, I believe that one.

  8. Steve says:

Yes, here is the spin via the Politico:

    Aide: Ax ‘misspoke’

An Obama aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity, took back David Axelrod’s remark last month that Barack Obama and Rod Blagojevich had spoken recently.

“What the president-elect said today is correct, David Axelrod misspoke,” the aide said.

Obama said today the men had not spoken.

An open question: When they last spoke.

UPDATE: Axelrod says the same in a statement:

I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject.

Guess they shouldn’t let Axelrod off of the teleprompter.

(Just kidding. This is obviously a lie to cover for BHO.)

  9. proreason says:

It must be great to be Obamy.

If you said something that contradicts what you need to say now, you just reinterpret it.

If an aide said something that doesn’t look good today, you just say they misspoke.

    It’s FOOLproof.

And Rush says the Obamy fools don’t care what he says anyway. It’s how he says it. Kinda like a teenage crush. (except I wouldn’t really rate them at a mental age as high as 13)

  10. antihippy79 says:

Come on guys…I hate to see conservatives stoop to the level of the people over at Huffington Post. Sometimes a mistatement is just that…

Maybe its a lie and maybe its not. The response to all this reminds me of the constant liberal drumbeat “Bush lied, kids died.” Afterall, Obama did not say he spoke with the Govenor; it’s Axelrod making the statement. I can see Obama acting in a smart and honest way with this whole corruption disaster as the references to Obama in the tapes that have been released are references to Obama’s refusal to give the Governor anything more than a thank you for the right appointment. The Smoking Gun reported this:

“During a wiretapped November 10 call, a frustrated and financially strapped Blagojevich referred to Obama as a “mother***” and said that he would not appoint an ally of the President-elect to the Senate vacancy if “I don’t get anything.” Referring to Obama, Blagojevich exclaimed, “*** him. For nothing? *** him.” In a November 11 conversation, Blagojevich remarked that he knew Obama wanted Valerie Jarrett, a longtime confidante, to succeed him, “but they’re not willing to give me anything except appreciation. *** them.”

If we kneejerk everytime Obama speaks with “He’s lieing!” then we just end up as background noise when he really is caught in a lie. So far, it looks like the Obama folks wanted nothing to do with selling his old Senate seat…and for that we should applaud.

  11. pdsand says:

“Nothing in the court papers suggested Obama had any part in the discussion. In fact, Blagojevich allegedly said in the same conversation that Obama most likely would not appoint him as secretary of health and human services or to an ambassadorship because of the negative publicity that has surrounded the governor for three years.

One day later, according to the affidavit, Blagojevich allegedly told an associate he knew Obama wanted a specific Senate candidate but “they’re not going to give me anything except appreciation.” He finished the remark with an expletive.”

If the original AP-Obama piece is anywhere near correct, then Obama is off the hook if he could just bring himself to tell the truth on one occasion. You would think that especially in this case if there are tapes of the conversations then he would realise that we would hear either his or his aide’s words and know that there was communication between the two offices on the subject of the senate seat.

“…One day later, according to the affidavit, Blagojevich allegedly told an associate he knew Obama wanted a specific Senate candidate but “they’re not going to give me anything except appreciation…”

Doesn’t this little quote belie that Obama had been approached and turned down the quid pro quo?

Particularly in this instance when Obama apparently made a bold stand on principal against the corrupt politics of the past then you would think he would be proud of the fact that he got approached for a bribe and recoiled in horror. He then apparently hung up the phone and resumed watching his copy of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

    So why lie?

You know how whenever they talk about Watergate they always say that if Nixon had come out and told the truth about the break-in, whatever it may have been, then hardly anybody would have cared. But he got paranoid and lied and tried to cover-up, but then it turned out there was taped evidence of everything, and eventually it led to him resigning in disgrace for lying to the American people?

Yeah, that’s not going to happen here.

  12. bill says:

Couldn’t a grand jury sort all this out like it did for Scooter Libby?

Where are all the calls by Democrats for investigations to get to the bottom of this?

It sure didn’t take long for the kickoff.

  13. proreason says:

“If we kneejerk everytime Obama speaks with “He’s lieing!” then we just end up as background noise when he really is caught in a lie”

Huh? His WHOLE LIFE STORY is a lie. Off the top, anybody paying the slightest bit of attention could cite dozens of blatant lies. And that doesn’t count the policy lies and flip-flops.

And he’s obviously lying not being aware of this, but the things he says in public won’t be lies. He said “I had no contact with the governor or his office. So, I was not aware of what was happening”. So, he didn’t call Blago directly. Probably true. His henchmen made the calls and reported back. And no doubt Obamy was not aware of some insignificant detail of what was happening, so he can’t be made a liar when he says he “was not aware of what was happening”. Not knowing the precise number of F words Blago used covers him on that one. But to think the corrupt fool did not know the key details about Blago trying to sell the seat is ridiculous. He knows all about it.

Antihippy has a case of hopeychangeyfever.

  14. ptat says:

I am with JohnMG and proreason, antihippy—-didn’t you just observe the truth on the video clips? And haven’t you learned by now that when President Hussein is lying that he slips into multiple “uh, uh ,uh,uh…uhs”? Hillary used to have this affliction.

  15. BigOil says:

Antihippy – Axelrod is not some flunky from ACORN, he is Obama’s top adviser and has been with Obama since day one of the campaign. When Axelrod says “I know he has talked to the Governor” about filling the vacant seat, where is the ambiguity?

  16. notsoyoungjim says:

you go ahead and applaud antihippy–nice concern trolling comparing those questioning Dumbo’s culpability here with Huffington Post mouth-breathers.

The FBI affidavit said Blagojevich had been told by an adviser “the president-elect can get Rod Blagojevich’s wife on paid corporate boards in exchange for naming the president-elect’s pick to the Senate.” http://tinyurl.com/5npgtd

Obama today said he had not spoken to Blago. That parses as “I let my flunkies do it for me.” Fitz shooting across the bow of HMS Dumbo? Looks like he picked the wrong week to give up cigarettes.

  17. JohnMG says:

notsoyoungjim; …..”I let my flunkies do it for me…..”

Bingo!! That ranks right up there with the Clintons lame defenses of “I don’t recall…..”

Imagine. Bill and Hill got millions for writing their memoirs, yet when pressed to testify, they couldn’t remember a thing about ‘Whitewater’, ‘Travelgaate’, ‘Rose Law Firm’ billing records……you get the idea. I guess it just depends on what the definition of “is” is.

Obama is just as big, if not a bigger liar than the Clintons. He just lacks their charm.

  18. BatK says:

Obama lying is not shocking. Obama telling the TRUTH would be.

  19. David says:

So along the line of JohnMG’s post,
If he “uhs” at a rate of 0.28 uhs/sec and if this country can only put up with his idiocy for four years and assuming a generous 8 hours of sleeping per night (hoping he doesn’t say “uh” in his sleep) then we are in for approximately 35,178,200 uh’s. Boy what I would give for even a penny an “uh”!

  20. JohnMG says:

    Thanks for the “uh”p-date, David. ;-}

  21. beefeater says:

I did not have conversations with that Govenor, Mr. Blago. I never told anybody lie, not a single time.

  22. artboyusa says:

Poor President Barbarella Osama – there’s just so much to remember, when you’re the incarnation of the ardent hopes and dreams of a nation, nay, a world, that no wonder he gets absent-minded and is “unaware” of so many things. My grandma was the same way toward the end. Let’s help our Dear Leader out and compile a handy, easy to use list of all the pesky “facts” he’s unaware of. That’ll help cut down on those embarrassing “uh” and “errr” moments at press conferences. It’s the least we can do to help President Barbarella, after he’s done so much for us! Here goes, just off the top of my head:

    1. My friend and political ally Governor Blago was selling my old job on the open market.
    2. My pastor Jeremiah Wright was an America-hating racist.
    3. My friend and political ally Bill Ayres was an America-hating terrorist.
    4. My friend and house-buying buddy Tony Rezko was a complete crook.
    5. There aren’t 57 states in the USA.
    6. Pearl Harbor wasn’t bombed in 1940.
    7. Those “fuel-efficient” Japanese cars don’t really get such great mpg.
    7. My uncle didn’t “liberate” Auschwitz. The Russians did that.

    Any more?

  23. BannedbytheTaliban says:

Seems the censureship as begun. Winston at the ministry of truth seems to have removed the video showing Axelrod’s mispeak.

  24. 12 Gauge Rage says:

Why not let Obama light up a smoke when he’s giving a speech on this topic? If he’s gonna be blowing smoke up the public’s ass anyway why not let them see where it came from?

  25. RightWinger says:

When Obama often now says “I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to comment.”, is this his new way of saying “Present”?

  26. proreason says:

The Volkohl Conspiracy Blog has the timeline.

From the evening of Nov. 10 until yesterday, Blagojevich, Obama, and his transition team acted in ways that are consistent with a knowledge of Blagojevich’s bribery attempt and a rejection of that attempt. What doesn’t fit easily with the timeline is Obama’s statement yesterday.”

The Idiot had his human shields do the dirty work. He knew from the first minute.

And if you didn’t see it, note Cincinattus’ post right above. News stories were out on Nov 5 about Obamy meeting with Blago.

  27. frighteningfred says:

Where did the Video go? It looks like it was pulled off from Youtube!

  28. Cincinnatus says:

Better capture this Axelrod video quick — looks like it will soon be fated for The Memory Hole.

  29. Steve says:

“Better capture this Axelrod video quick — looks like it will soon be fated for The Memory Hole.”

And since it was from Fox News, it probably was not removed because of a copyright complaint.

So Google is once again covering for the Messiah.

  30. ultimatumthule says:

Unless the video above has been altered, Obama didn’t say “I had no contact with the governor or his office. So, I was not aware of what was happening.” – as the text under the youtube video clip states. Instead, he said it was an ongoing investigation, and didn’t feel it was appropriate to comment. Am I missing something? Where does Obama say that “he had no contact with the Governor or his office?”

  31. proreason says:

ulti, the money quote is in the last 15 secs of the video.

  32. ultimatumthule says:

Thanks, proreason. My mistake, I assumed (wrongly) that the quote came from the beginning of the clip. (I couldn’t bear to listen to Gore, or anybody else giving Gore the time of day.)

  33. madmax says:

On the “uh” topic; could it be that all the audio from the msm has been airbrushed? Put the letter “d” in front of the word “uh” and the multiple use makes much more sense.
