Obama Tribute To Gettysburg Address Released

From the UK’s Daily Mail:

White House releases handwritten note Obama penned in tribute to Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address after he is accused of snubbing predecessor

20 November 2013

The White House released a letter Tuesday handwritten by President Obama and dedicated to the memory of Abraham Lincoln and his historic Gettysburg Address.

Just like the unforgettable speech, Obama’s letter contains 272 words and became public on the 150th anniversary of the day Lincoln honored the soldiers who died in the Civil War bloodbath.

What a coincidence, huh. They are so subtle.

It also comes at a time when Obama is facing disastrous approval ratings and amid criticism he’s taken for choosing not to attend a Gettysburg memorial. Obama has also been attacked for failing to say the words ‘under God’ during a recent recitation of the address.

But the letter, which Obama seems to have written himself, appears to be an means of laying to rest any possibility that the president has anything but respect and admiration for the Great Emancipator.

But ask yourself, why would Obama has written out such at thing, and without a single correction or smudge, except as a PR stunt? A way to convince the low info crowd that he didn’t mean to diss Mr. Lincoln.

‘I sometimes walk down the hall to a room Abraham Lincoln used as his office,’ the letter reads. ‘It contains an original copy of the Gettysburg Address, written in Lincoln’s own hand.’

In his own handwritten script, Obama highlights an excerpt from Lincoln’s speech that he most often lingers on: A new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

‘Lincoln grasped, perhaps more than anyone, the burdens required to give these words meaning,’ the President writes. ‘He understood as well that our humble efforts, our individual ambitions, are ultimately not what matter; rather, it is through the accumulated toil and sacrifice of ordinary men and women…that this country is built, and freedom preserved.’

Yes. Obama is obsessed with equal protection under the law and preserving our freedoms. It’s clear from all of his words and actions.

Obama, whose spokesman claims he was reading from a so-called ‘Nicholay copy,’ of the address when he omitted a shout out to God, finishes his letter with a nod to healing wounds.

Even though the copy that Obama says he regularly visits in the White House, the Bliss copy, contains "under God." And the Bliss copy is considered to be the standard version of the speech. And, for the record, at least three reporters telegraphed the text of Lincoln’s speech on the day the Address was given with the words "under God."

In the evening, when Michelle and the girls have gone to bed, I sometimes walk down the hall to a room Abraham Lincoln used as his office. It contains an original copy of the Gettysburg Address, written in Lincoln’s own hand.

I linger on these few words that have helped define our American experiment: "a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."

Through the lines of weariness etched in his face, we know Lincoln grasped, perhaps more than anyone, the burdens required to give these words meaning. He knew that even a self evident truth was not self executing; that blood drawn by the lash was an affront to our ideals; that blood drawn by the sword was in painful service to those same ideals.

He understood as well that our humble efforts, our individual ambitions, are ultimately not what matter; rather, it is through the accumulated toil and sacrifice of ordinary men and women — those like the soldiers who consecrated that battlefield — that this country is built, and freedom preserved. This quintessentially self made man, fierce in his belief in honest work and the striving spirit at the heart of America, believed that it falls to each generation, collectively, to share in that toil and sacrifice.

Through cold war and world war, through industrial revolutions and technological transformations, through movements for civil rights and women’s rights and workers rights and gay rights, we have. At times, social and economic change have strained our union. But Lincoln’s words give us confidence that whatever trials avoid us, this nation and the freedom we cherish can, and shall, prevail.

You didn’t know that Lincoln was big on gay rights?

Signed and sealed: Illinois 16th state to legalize gay marriage
    November 21, 2013
Gov. Pat Quinn on Wednesday put his signature on a historic measure making Illinois the 16th state to allow same-sex marriage, capping a 40-year push for gay rights that picked up major momentum during the past decade.
Playing master of ceremonies during an hourlong event, the re-election-seeking Democratic governor slowly signed the bill with 100 pens that quickly became souvenirs. He did so at a desk shipped from Springfield that the administration said President Abraham Lincoln used to write his first inaugural address in 1861 — a speech on the cusp of the Civil War that called on Americans to heed “the better angels of our nature.”
But it was another Lincoln speech that Quinn referenced as he spoke to about 2,300 supporters gathered at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
“In the very beginning of the Gettysburg Address, President Abraham Lincoln of Illinois said that our nation was conceived in liberty. And he said it’s dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, and that’s really what we’re celebrating today,” he said. “It’s a triumph of democracy.”
Signs were banned for security reasons, but attendees shared celebratory kisses and waved miniature rainbow flags featuring the outline of Illinois.

proof Honest Abe was for for gay rights.
they now have a pen with his fingerprints on it that signed the bill !

The Emperor has undergone a metamorphosis.

    He has become a god.

And since the divine Nerobama has become a god, it is pointless for him to say “this nation, under God.” Because “under God” would be redundant; he would actually be saying, “this nation, under me.”

“government of the people, by the people, for the people” –– And what has become of that? Yes, it was Lincoln who said it, but it was the Confederates who fought and died for it.

We never thought much of Lincoln down here.

President John Tyler’s son, writing in 1932, spoke for many: “I think he was a bad man,” wrote Lyon Gardiner Tyler, “a man who forced the country into an unnecessary war and conducted it with great inhumanity.”

Abraham Lincoln was the cause of the Civil War. He invaded the Southern States, first at Fort Pickens and later at Fort Sumter. He called, illegally, for “volunteers” to invade and subdue the seven Confederate States, and in so doing forced six more States out of the Union.

Only seven slave States seceded initially, while eight stayed in the Union. This situation only changed after Lincoln declared war on those first seven. War! Not peaceful coexistence. Not conciliation. Not negotiations. Not sanctions. War!

And not just war, but total war. A war of coercion and conquest. Total war waged against civilians. A war to crush an independence movement no different than that of the British colonies of 1776.

In the upper South it was Lincoln’s unconstitutional call for troops to invade the deep South and suppress the new Confederacy that transformed unionist pluralities into overwhelming secessionist majorities.

The Virginia General Assembly attempted to save the Union by calling the States to a peace convention in Washington, led by former President John Tyler as commissioner to the President of the United States. Unfortunately Lincoln refused to meet with Tyler, and their peace proposals were rejected by the Northern war radicals who then dominated in Congress.

Even then, Virginians adhered to the Union, and voted to secede only after Lincoln announced his intent to invade and make war upon other Southern States, and to compel Virginia to join in that war of North against South. Virginia’s vote came on 17 Apr 1861, and other States of the upper South then followed the Old Dominion out of the Union –– Arkansas on 6 May, Tennessee on 7 May, North Carolina on 20 May, and Missouri on 31 Oct following its invasion and occupation by a Northern army. Kentucky was narrowly prevented from seceding by means of Lincoln’s preemptive military strike.

Under these circumstances, secession was the only path that Virginians and other Southerners could take in honor and good conscience, as painful as that decision may have been. It was also a decision within the sovereign authority of the people of Virginia under the Constitution, and a decision taken in defense of their ancient liberties.

The post-Appomattox emergence of Federal supremacy marked the death of the constitutionally limited federal republic created by the Founding Fathers. Real States Rights died at Appomattox in 1865. Before Appomattox, the States (or more precisely, the people of the States) were sovereign; after Appomattox the Federal government in Washington DC was sovereign; i.e., it became the ultimate or final arbiter of its own constitutional authority.

Today the divine Nerobama is sovereign. For he defines his own powers, without regard to the authority of the Constitution, the rights of the States, or the powers of Congress and the courts.

With Appomattox Lincoln established the principle that if any State secedes it will be invaded, pillaged, burned to the ground, and its people slaughtered, imprisoned, or expelled, while the survivors will thereafter be denied all civil and political rights and instead be ruled by a harsh military occupation and looted by carpetbaggers.

So what happened to “government of the people”?

Since 1865, power has rested in Washington DC, and not in the people, as was recently illustrated by the ObamaCare cram-down.

And what of “conceived in liberty”?

Since 1865, the Federal government –– originally our agent –– has become our master. A master wholly committed to big government, big spending, big immigration, and small liberty. A government, according to the divine Nerobama, that is dedicated to the proposition that “our humble efforts, our individual ambitions” don’t really matter. Rather, it is the “accumulated toil and sacrifice” of the collective that matters: “that it falls to each generation, collectively, to share in that toil and sacrifice.”

A more romantic version of Marxism could hardly be imagined.

And, lest they be forgotten, Lincoln approved the execution of many Native Americans,
who only wanted to be left alone on their lands, guaranteed by solumn Treaty.

Fox never accused Obama of snubbing Lincoln holiday, merely pointed out Bush and other Republicans doing memorials.

Obama was busy with that last minute coaching Medal of Freedom recipients. A last minute
recipient was Bill Clinton in order to shut him up for publicly saying Obama should keep his promise and let people keep their insurance.

Dick Durban & Oprah’s pre-award night sucking up to Obama arrangements.

Loretta Lynn was to pacify the “screwed coal miners” and promote her hoarding of a years supply of food and survival in her giant safe room with extra security bolts so no poor people could break has been an excellent model for other rich liberal celebrities. Ya know. The rich will survive and the poor will be weeded out philosophy.

If you notice Obama has fallen short of country singers and even got Garth Brooks to party at the White House.

CNN and it’s leaning more and more to stars and celebrities all started with Oprah.
First Oprah comments were on her latest weight loss to promote another diet to follow her past books and cooks books she’s plugged and made a fortune on. Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, and now the latest diet fad guru. Rumors are she used Kim Kardashian’s same extreme diet, followed by new rumors there is a new $80,000 non-surgic ultra sound method.
