BTW, you can claim a deduction for anything, including “harassing ex”. The IRS doesn’t check anything but math unless they audit you. And only a tiny % of people get auditted.

This guy is un-******* believable. My own mom, who’s conservative roots go back to her father’s Scottish roots…has even been yelling at me over the phone about this whole muck-up.

She lived through WWII as a teen, and through the depression before that. Her dad (my granddad) worked his butt off in the railroad industry (rejecting the unions) and put two kids through college and lost a son to tuberculosis. He lived to be 96 years old. He hated FDR. Small wonder. He was a working man.

I am sitting here with my mouth open and trying to not beat myself to death with my computer mouse as more and more of this governmental BS keeps filling my ears to the point where I can’t get it out.

I’m 47 and watching the damage in less than one month…that now seals my fate from retiring by the time I’m 65. I used to joke that “I only have to work until I’m 147, after that it’s all gravy”. Now, how prophetic those words have become. I’m sure my veteran’s benefits will most likely become worthless because of this clown and the rest of the circus’s actions…and being at the tail end of the baby boom…my future retirement plans are shot.

(note to IRS….I pay every year and always have. My thought centered on my ex wife, who you allowed a 12000 dollar deduction for “summer camp.” There was no “summer camp”. That was the money she spent on her European trip while she left the kids with me for three months….and still got child support. If you withhold less, you will owe more in April and vice versa.

So changing the withholding tables is meaningless, unless there is an accompanying change in the tax code.
