Obama Wants A Criminal Probe Of CIA

From an elated Associated Press:

“You you need to know that you’ve got my full support.” — Mr. Obama at the CIA headquarters, April 20, 2009.

Obama: Justice OK to conduct interrogation review

Sunday, September 20, 2009

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says he has no plans to ask the Justice Department to end its criminal investigation into the harsh interrogations of suspected terrorists during the Bush administration.

Seven former CIA directors have asked the president to do just that. In a letter to Obama on Friday, they warned that the probe could discourage CIA officers from doing the kind of aggressive intelligence work needed to fight terrorism.

Obama tells CBS’ "Face the Nation" that he appreciates that the former CIA chiefs are wanting "to look after an institution that they helped to build."

Obama says he wants to make sure that he’s not somehow overruling the decisions of prosecutors such as Attorney General Eric Holder who are there to uphold the law.

No surprise here.

(You would have to be a fool to think it was ever otherwise.)

Sort of like the way Mr. Obama feels about ACORN.

There is “Only” one answer for this type of answer from this President. He is a Marxist!

  2. proreason says:

He was just waiting for his first crisis to initiate this.

Next crisis, he will initiate the investigation of Bush and Cheney.

  3. Is it too late to investigate Eric Holder’s signing off on Mark Rich’s pardon by Bill Clinton? Even Janet Reno was corrupt enough to sign off on that one! Off course The Black Panther voter intimidation investigation was dropped.

  4. Liberals Demise says:

The complete and utter dismantling of the security services that keep a nation at arms length from those that wish us harm.

WE knew it was , “He that knows nothing” that wants us on our knees facing East toward Mecca.

Wait…..Obama’s gonna be on TV? When? Why wasn’t I told about this?

  6. catie says:

He won’t be happy until many CIA officials & covert officers are hanging by their thumbs. Next up as others have said, will be the Bush/Cheney administration.
The teleprompter prince will one day reap what he sows, unfortunately he’s taking this country down with him.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

You’re not kidding, catie. With every slick move and shell game he further distances himself from his “adoring masses”. He never caught on that celebrity love is the most fleeting of all and in no way a guarantee that his CD’s will continue to sell. Of course, there are those who think he can’t do anything wrong but the middle-of-the-roaders who vited for him are already saying “WTF?” and rethinking their error.

I blame republicans as much as democrats for this last sham of an election. Like asking a prisoner, “death by hanging or death by electrocution?”.

In the end, eventually, the tally will have to come in and with an all-demcrat contingent, the onus is all on them for farking up the whole thing.

Liberals will never understand that government enforced utopian policies to “make it a better world” is marxism and not in the US charter known as the Constitution.

  7. Petronius says:

Good comments on this thread by all.

Given Nerobama’s policies, it becomes ever more difficult to blame the next terrorist attack on Bush.

But perhaps we underestimate them. Perhaps they welcome the next terrorist attack as an opportunity to grab absolute power. “Never let a good crisis go to waste,” as they say in the White House these days.

  8. Rusty Shackleford says:

You know, there’s something interesting happening. It occurred to me that this not-quite-fully-baked half-wit is taking on an awful lot of issues. More than any president in my memory. There is no way he can take on such a load and keep it all managed. From his world-apology tour, to keeping Hitlery under a tight lid, to GAYCORN to healthcare, meddling in elections, Investigating the CIA, the middle east, and on and on.

In some circles, this is known as “spreading yourself thin” and typically, the eventual outcome is pretty obvious. Not any one thing ever gets done to a definitive conclusion or is done very well at all.

So, adding to his repertoire of glorious lying, you could say that micromanaging is in there now in a very obvious way.

I have worked for micromanagers. They suck. But this we already know. He may appoint a lackey to head up some committee, but he will constantly want to be kept apprised of it. So, eventually, he will have to have his blackberry making heap big smoke while he’s on the phone with Holder, Pelosi in the hall waiting….Bawney wanting another wowwipop and so on.

I am reminded of an episode of Star Trek where the alien is in control of the Enterprise, so Capt Kirk and Spock start turning on every system to full max and the alien cannot take the load.

But what’s beautiful is the Obamatard is doing it to himself. Every day to every other day, it’s another new thing. Either he quickly loses interest, or is trying to “show the world” by taking it all on. Even Reagan…and other presidents took things as they came, and actually initiated things in a very careful, measured way, no doubt listening to their advisers and cabinet.

Barry may be listening to his, but they are all saying, “We have to do this now.” which is another tell-tale signature of the emotional liberal who has no patience and must correct all evils and injustices immediately.

So….following it to its logical conclusion, one can see major failure on the way. For while he is wanting to take full credit, he unwittingly doesn’t realize that he gets full blame as well when he puts his chips on that mark.

It’ll be interesting to see just how much and how much MORE he takes on….as he’s already said…”Hey, guys, I have a lot more to worry about than running a car company” He may think he’s of the capacity of Stalin…but he will find out it’s really hard to be a dictator after all. And….I think he will then start to become paranoid.

So let’s watch and see, shall we?

    • proreason says:

Since it’s all about power, he doesn’t care if his critics think he is spread too thin or if things fail. He doesn’t intend to give up the throne anyway, so he has a lifetime to move the land mines from a to b to c and back.

And keeping the marks confused is part of the strategy. He has 37 czars we know about and who knows how many more we don’t know about. I’ve read reports that the WH and every office building in the area is bursting with apparatchiks busily planning the regulatory regime dream and generally screwing up the country (and where did THAT budget come from anyway, as if he cares).

It’s also easier to cover the field with fire than it is to hit specific targets.

He won’t get tired. Other than flapping his jaws non-stop, the most taxing thing the idiot does is come up with new ways to tell the same lie.

  9. electionhangovervictim says:

Keep it up, Oblahma…ya know the CIA has a way of making meddlers disappear, no matter who they are.

  10. Dr.D says:

He has no idea what it takes to do the actual function of the CIA. Or if he does, he is bound and determined to make sure it never functions again. He will totally wreck the moral of the CIA, NSA, etc. to the point the America will be blind as a bat on the international front. He does not want to listen to anyone, but the rest of the country still wants to function after we ditch him, and we need these things to operate. He has to be stopped before he wrecks the whole machine.
