It makes me wonder why there’s such a gung ho movement from the Dems to let the automakers fail. I’m not in favor of a bailout either, but most of those guys are union workers, so maybe:

The Dems want the automakers to fail so they can break the unions also and those guys earning 70K on an assembly line will be glad for a job at $10 an hour breaking rock on the Obama Memorial I-95.

And I heard once, and I think it's true, if it only took 100 billion dollars to create a viable, clean energy market (if that's the word to use), wouldn't the private market have done so by now? Bambi finds things so easy to say, doing it is going to not be the piece of cake he wants us to think it will be. Besides, government doesn't produce anything. It takes tax money and redistributes it, this is not going to create sustainable jobs in the long run - at least that's what basic econ principles say...
